Also Bruce Springsteen. I've read that music magazines in the 1980s really shilled him hard but he's so overwrought and CRINGE. He is really emblematic of hysterical American liberal boomers obsessed with some mystical essence of America. It just gives me a headache.

Also I think liberal music is not like conservative music which is just obviously bad. Liberal music is aesthetically depraved but relies on critical institutions to build up its esteem through sheer dogma. It's like how dare you say Bruce Springsteen sucks! He's "a generational touchstone … who expresses the very essence of us."
