Please post more examples I haven't listed. I miss these magical days so much.

>>799872
Marxist Matey posting and SocDem Gang are my two favourite dead gimmicks. This place used to be fun.

>>799873
>socdem gang
Weren't we also the very first people to meme nazbol gang?

>>799876
Made by X gang in general was us iirc, flagposting and ideological diversity was a boon to this place and now it's dead :(

>>799872
I only arrived here in 2017 so I remember
>baboonposter
>the brown pill spammer
>hoochie minh (she even became a mod at one point)
>spookposting/stirnerposting
>porky with a mask meme
I also remember
>afroplasm
>bat'ko
>political ideology catgirls
>shay posting his ass in the original /crisis/ thread
>the greenland communist poster from /leftytrash/
>leftypol getting murdoch murdoch banned from youtube to advange bat'ko
>piere before he became a hazcel cryptoscammer
>rebel absurd's crosdressing pictures (before they became a trans-woman and fascist)
>people refering to old BO as body oder because of a filter
>the rojava split
>when 8chan was shut down on april 1st, /leftypol/ was among the last boards being revived (even though we were in the top 5 most active boards)
>space letting /leftpol/ die
>that one dutch guy taking over as BO in the late 8chan days

>>799880
We don't have a big enough userbase now, frankly.

>>799872
Brownpill, who could forget?

>>800718
I also remember bat'ko, pierre tru dank, greenland communist, The rojava drama with the old BO and the entire ideology catgirls thing

>>799872
That pic of Hoochie Minh wearing jeans is burned into my memory

>>800821
Right what it says on the tin mate

>>799873
2020fag here, I made a couple of socdem gang memes for fun

pic unrel though, but I have shitposted it IRL

>>799872
Plenty of porky masks on the booru btw.
<reginald brown pill
was 8ch-wide, not a true /leftypol/ meme

>>800734
Bullshit, I've seen sites with 5 posters who have more diversity and culture than modern /leftypol/.

>>800825
I an one of the only posters, but I get no responses, explain that.

who remembers buckoposting
the height of bernie mania was funny but we sure dodged a bullet by having him be ratfucked out of winning. imagine how it would have gone if he had been POTUS on oct 7th after doing a term and a half of socdem politics, and what that would do to class consciousness and international solidarity.

If you want to feel old just think hoochie minh probably isn't even fertile anymore

>>799872
I miss Old BO. He may have been a dick at times, but he was OUR dick. Now everything is just redressed radical liberalism.

I remember also
>the leftpol split (the leftychin/pol split made that look like a fucking cakewalk)
>leftyb
>Tomoko-Stalinstache poster.
>Yugo-furry.
>back when leftypol.org was bunkerchan.xyz and there was the /dprk/ board, and outside of hobby, leftypol and edu we had roulette where temporary boards were held.

>>800811
> ideology catgirls
God what a throwback. Remember when we had beef with r/socialism?

r/socialism is still pretty bad

>>800718
>>political ideology catgirls
My favorite ones were the dominant nazbol catgirl and the cute bookish leftcom catgirl

>>801001
Remember when Hoochie threatened to an hero after Triump won in 2016?

Who remembers satanposter? Anyone got the pic where she shows her tits?

Nah satanposter was long before shay. She was a nazi Satanist.

you only qualify for oldfag status if you remember reddit obesity having drunk schizorants and pretending to be her non-existant sister

>>801117
specifically on the board because the mods were/are lazy faggots

>>801117
what if you have pics rebble sent of herself in a DM on the old rizon irc covered in blood from self-harming during the mental breakdown arc shortly before transitioning and also have a video prickly_cactus made for a school project of himself sperging out talking to grass.

>>801117
I was on leftypol since 2015 and have no idea what you're talking about. Is this pre 2015 lore?

>>801088
>Now everything is just redressed radical liberalism.
Leftypol became indistinguishable from left Twitter since 2020. Left Twitter was one of the biggest disasters to happen to the online left, even worse than left reddit. Almost everyone became an NPC drone.

File: 1782894678634-1.jpg (9 KB, 225x224, luffyannoyed.jpg)

>>801167
This. So many people on here now support woke idpol it's not even funny.

>>801168
I think idpol glazing is only a part of it. Everyone in general is afraid to express any unpopular or heterodox position because they are terrified of being ratioed. Even on sites like this where that doesn't exist.

Downvoots on reddit are rightfully mocked but ratios on Twitter are considered the ultimate humiliation. Because Reddit thankfully has a reputation of being cringe but Twitter sadly does not.

>Left Twitter was one of the biggest disasters to happen to the online left
Agree on the dominant radlib circuit, disagree on every twitter subculture of the time. Compare >>>/edu/5684 being a product of left frogtwitter.
>Leftypol became indistinguishable from left Twitter since 2020.
I don't know what it says about me, that i found bunkerchan mid-2020 and it's been the most insightful site i've known (aside from book archives and random people's blogs) for all this time. Most of the screencaps i have saved are from 2021 and i rarely see good threads on /leftypol/ these days, but this might also be because i'm often busy with irl stuff and thus less willing to dive for effortposts in bait OPs or grok a lot of long and repetitive discussions. It has been feeling like the geopol generals are the cancer killing the main board since at least 2023 though.

>>801089
b4mytime

but we're somehow still to abrasive for hexchair posters in denial about the blatant chapo/leftypol crosspollination

I saved this in 2019, but I visited occasionally even during early days on 8chan around 2015. But not enough to be aware of drama beyond the oldBO purge. I do remember the political catgirls and constant stirner/spook posting. I remember the soviet and ML enthusiasts were the best at arguing and effortposting by far

>>801168
bro woke idpol isnt even the ruling class liberals consensus anymore, we lost that battle in all the progressive spaces, just pay useless lip service to it without actually caring like you're a big corpo. Things are getting worse enough that class discourse and socialism is actually on the rise, dont fuck it up by sperging about their stupid idpol shit, focus on whats important.

>>801140
>pricklycactus

damn that's a name i haven't heard in a fuckin decade

>>801168
it has objectively been demonstrated correct. Idpol radlibs drifted left and now talk about communism (hence the sudden reversal from corporate pride to corporate reaction and all thr fell for it awards Trump is handing out) while this shithole sits in Chan culture campist irrelevance.

"woke idpol" = credible signal of being high status and benevolent, versus anti-idpol usually being a proxy for reactionary idol wrecking and - worst of all - low status and malevolent. (see the global Trump cult, vice signalling losers all.)

>>801344
Uh huh yeah, just ignore all the far-right parties being elected worldwide and displacing century old established parties. Ignore all the millions of normies and high-status going from apolitical/liberal/leftish to right or far-right. None of that is happening, yeah its all just low-status people. Keep inhaling that copium.

>>801344
I mean one could argue that the recent successes of antiwoke fascist adjacent fucks has partly been because the "progressives" are bogged down in stupid idpol shit that has been associated with an entire generation of neolibs elites fucking workers and sucking finance and corpos while flying lgbt flags rather than bringing labor, class and wealth redistribution at the forefront

>>801366
>>801348
basically any piece of empirical survey data will show this preposition to be nonsense. it's age and education, stupid! unless you're spanish a really fucking weird case tbh, it's always age and education!

the far right is a coalition of the stupid and the old. so far as the old center-left panders to them (see UK labour's travails) it eats shit and dies and is replaced by something more liberal and more leftist. labour, class, and wealth distribution are at the forefront alongside lgbt flags, insofar as there's a non-retard caucus of the right-wing turn they've either been bourgeois realising that token concessions weren't going to buy off woke communist youth and that the stick was needed instead of the carrot (who've subsequently for the most part been awarded "fell for it again" awards as he fucks the global economy through retarded policies and open grifting) plus richard hanania pseud types who've subsequently eaten humble pie in public.

/leftypol/ is the one place on the internet that should be aware of just how much contempt the global right should be held in, the one place with a misanthropic streak capable of realising that they really are just morons, but instead it's the last redoubt of pretending that they've actually got legitimate concerns and would be good little leninists if only they'd seen more miners in blackface and hard-hats instead of having to endure the indignity of seeing a woman in public.

i blame selection effects. detritus to far right parties, detritus to imageboards.

>>801407
i should clarify: "it's always age and education" only refers to the present, or in particular post-2016. the UK is a good double-blind for this one because the 2015 UK election was basically normal (conservatives won all education levels and age was basically a wash) while 2017 saw a shift to the age+education split we've seen since (this is why corbyn did so well in 2017!)

File: 1782962400710-8.png (856.76 KB, 922x1048, 9fa.png)

>>801344
You are delusional if you deny how toxic and self destructive hyperfocusing on idpol has been to the left. Large swathes of the left who were previously obsessed with it are now correctly rejecting it.

Naturally I prefer a socialist with libtard tendencies over anti communist filth, but that's akin to preferring a shitty incompetent ally to an open enemy.

man I miss when imageboards were still relevant and fun sometimes. everything is a miserable fucking husk of what it used to be.

the left is more popular than ever, the losers have been liberals and socdems who've (a) been in long term decline anyway and (b) have for the most part brought this on themselves by triangulating rightwards.

the left has failed to make the advancements you'd hope for as a result because it's institutionally incompetent, not because it has hyperfocused on idpol. indeed, plenty of leftand leftish parties that have advanced are at the more "idpol" end of the spectrum. (UK greens, Scottish Greens, Die Linke - despite a split that showed just how badly the anti-woke left does - US greens obviously did badly but doubled their vote share and are now the leading third party candidates, Norwegian Labour - woke and surely the only socdems in Europe to still be getting as many votes as in the 1990s… Even the SNP have tested the proposition that if you're progressive-ish you can hold on to your core vote despite wrecking campaigns and fucking up literally every possible way.), being socially progressive and economically left wing are positively correlated. (Of course they are! Of course "better things are possible" as a belief system applies everywhere! "Better things are possible in that we can nationalise steel, but if you think for a second I'm going to respect a foid or a injun you've got another thing coming" - Mean! not a winning message!

And that's before we get into the desirable long term configuration of the left's voter coalition (do you know what older voters like to do, other than back Hitlerism? They like to die of old age. In Britain, more 2019 Tory voters died before the 2024 than switched to voting Labour!)

When the bourgeois press tell you state control of trains is a vote loser you know it's bollocks, you have to be pretty naive to take them at face value when they then go "oh, Kamala lost because she was for they/them, not because she failed in basically all conventional election strategizing and alienated a chunk of her own constituency by not distancing herself from genocide" (Palestine is a fun one, isn't it? Schrodinger's idpol, sometimes "anti-imperialism", sometimes a distraction from the all important cause of giving treats to nasty little boys who post on leftypol.org)

File: 1782980822687-8.jpg (11.82 KB, 220x229, luffyangy.jpg)

>>801493
>but if you think for a second I'm going to respect a foid or a injun you've got another thing coming

There are two people who regularly post on this board that unironically say stuff like this. Even the people in Sex and Relationships general don't hate women, they just want a girlfriend.

>>801498
at the risk of derailing what is already a soft derailment:
  1. 2 people on a board that can't have more than 100 regular posters (and a site that can't have more than 250) is an appreciable number, particularly when a greater number will think it (or more accurately feel it) but not say it explicitly.
  2. very few posters here hate women as an abstract idea, but a much larger minority have no time for actually-existing women and their current position in society. most contempt for the actually existing left is in fact contempt for the fact that women dominate the composition, aesthetics, and discourse of that left. (and, in turn, they don't like that a notable minority of young men skew right-wing, because they are seeking in some measure male attention and validation. this is why /leftypol/ still has an insecure little undercurrent of "what would /pol/ think if they could see this?" and a secret conviction that if we just ditch the fag shit and retroactively admit gamergate was right, all the shadilay-spouting creeps of the world who turned into white nationalists will see the light and become good leninists.) people like a fantastical liberated socialist woman in blue overalls who'll nevertheless be a loving and maybe slightly femdommy wife who meets him at a party event so he doesn't have to make the first move really, not a dinergoth who has the gall to expect him to be interesting company, the cheek to out-earn them, and the insolence to have political views independent of, in opposition to, and more "directionally correct" than his.
  3. you touch on women but not injuns. the amount of time spent whining about landback on this board is comically disproportionate to the amount of real-world influence such types have.

I'm a recent migrant but I've been on /pol/ forever. When did this place become a thing? I can't remember anymore when /leftypol/ stopped being a /pol/ general, I just remember I used to see it and then at some point it disappeared.

>>801667
/leftypol/ became a board on 8chan on 2014.

>>801110
Oh it is, but leftypol has a lot of the same opinions (or at least the mods do)

>>801244
>>801089
The webcomic was cool it's too bad she stopped. I think eventually the hate got too bad.

>>801501
By this logic, neither does 4chan. A lot of the hateful and aspirational dialect on here is similar to that on incel.is, kiwifarms, and 4chan

>>801498
They constantly spaz out about it though. The accusations of “eugenics” because no woman will ever salivate about them in public or the accusations of women being fascists or whatever.
And a lot of these posters are dull and plain and have contempt for “normies”. To get a gf would have to mean that they get over themselves which is something they’re not willing to do.
