Autistic men are actually treated like such shit its incredible. Radfems hate autistic boys more than any other group. I was reading what they were saying about them on twitter and it was appalling. People think that autistic boys should be bullied more to make them mask and fit in with society. It's evil and heartless shit.
It is true that men have autism more severely than women. I think this is largely due to the ways men and women are brought up. Autism is half a matter of upbringing, and if the family is abusive or unavailable (even unintentionally) it leads to more severe autism. What I mean is that if you have the autism genes, you will develop autistic behaviours. But it is up to the upbringing to teach you how to cope with them.
So, there is an element of truth in the "bully them into masking". But bullying is exactly the wrong thing to do. If you bully an autistic person they won't get stronger because of it. Autistic women don't mask better because they were bullied, but because they were raised entirely with different social expectations and different allowances.
For example, a lot of women who are autistic get diagnosed with anxiety and have "anxiety attacks". But these anxiety attacks are just the same as autistic meltdowns, and represent a failiure of masking and regression to more severe symptoms. I don't have "anxiety" (which is a fake disease like all 'mental illnesses'), but it looks like I do when I have a medium meltdown where I go into level 2. It is only when I have a full meltdown where I can no longer talk and start screaming and acting like a zombie, where I show level 3 symptoms. But this is entirely a social thing. The meltdown gets worse because I get worried about people looking at me. It's all about embarrassment. I feel like a monster and I lose the ability to be human. I think about it as if I am a wearwolf. However in public I can manage a medium meltdown because more severe would be more embarrassing.
Autistic boys should be treated with more kindness but also raised with discipline. That is the only way of teaching masking. Masking is the same as high functioning autism. Discipline should not in any way be bullying however, it should never for a second be harsh or cold or unkind, and never should people get angry or snap at autistic children unless they did something really wrong that they should remember, because such a social attack on an autistic child is basically like peeling the fingernails of a neurotypical.
I do think women also just have it easier with autism and are judged less harshly for it. I have experienced this while transitioning. Autistic men need more support and love from society.
>i was reading twitter and got mad
>Autistic men need more support and love from society.
Can we start with me please
>>824259Autistic girls usually have it better than autistic boys because some autistic behavior looks like what's expected from "traditional" female gender roles. People tend to associate women with being emotional (hysteria literally comes from the latin word for womb), and being generally withdrawn is quite compatible with the stay-at-home housewife's life.
Otoh, autism comes in conflict with "traditional" male gender role. Men are supposed to be assertive and take initiative, but with a lot of unspoken rules that can lead to ostracism if not properly followed.
Female power is based on social control. Any group that's resistant to social control must be destroyed.
>>824279Did you read my post? It is a hardware level trait but how badly that trait affects your ability to have a social life is based on socialisation.
>>824284Yeah agreed very strongly and this was what I was trying to get at.
>>824298There is also something I find funny about that: Some theories interpet autism as the brain being too masculine, so in a way, the perfect woman is a man and vice versa :D
>>824284this is why all autistic cis boys should be injected with estrogen weekly and force them to transition into women
maybe they gotta stop being deranged gooner rapists or school shooters first
>>824259all autistic people deserve support and proper treatment by healthcare professionals
>I do think women also just have it easier with autism and are judged less harshly for it.just because some radfems online use them as a pawn and see them as a monolith of successful maskers and nothing else doesnt mean they dont have the same issues as autistic men, if not worse depending on individual case
