bc you clearly need to watch more films(notice how i specifically avoided saying tv shows). reading some marx before using his terminology wouldnt hurt either lopl

>is it the most class conscious?
<dunno but its good
>>this is le most le class conscious!!!!
you need to work on your reading comprehension before lecturing people on proper usage of words

Watched this last week because I find Reagan a highly interesting figure. Thought it would be a more nuanced political biopic maybe like Oliver Stone's Nixon or Adam McKays Vice but it turned out to be some Dailywire-tier, two-dimensional conservative boomerslop full of horrible cgi and with Reagan as the christian superhero who singlehandedly brought down communism.

>>47373
how does it deal with Iran-Contra?

>>47373
that sounds exactly like what I was expecting it to be idk why anyone would ever assume differently

>>47361
I'm not anon lol I just think your posture is hysterical. Do you talk to your coworkers like this?

>>47375
It's barely touched upon. In fact it's only briefly mentioned in one scene.
>>47377
I didn't think it would be that bad. I can tolerate the right wing propaganda if the film is decent but it's just bad all around

>>46615
>>46734
I saw it some months ago, it's not bad at all. Good acting and enjoyable if you're interested in the time period. It swings between portraying á´‰uá´‰lossnW as a cowardly, opportunistic buffoon and a heroic figure who takes over Italy. Oh and there's a scene where he straight up looks at the camera and says "Make Italy great again"

i love tv but never viewed it as an overly complex medium to enjoy and understand but all this the pitt shit is really opening my eyes that a lot of people just do not have the comprehensive ability to understand basic screenwriting decisions. this is exacerbated whenever the mental disease known as "fandom" is present

The fallout show kind of sucks

>>47492
it's light entertainment with a heavy anti-capitalist slant. It's okay. Sometimes the 50s/60s music is annoying as fuck (but I guess they can't skip on that because of the aesthetic of the game), and Ella Purnell's character is written like some quirky wholesome chungus which sometimes gets on my nerves.

Well, The Boys really overstayed their welcome. Making Kimiko say "that makes we wanna tit-slap you, and then hug you" made me die of cringe. The satire needs to be sharper, but to be fair it was written before Trump's second term and it's hard to even make a satire of that. Gore, perverted sex and strong language do not shock anybody anymore, for this show to end in a relevant way they need to really push the boundaries where it hurts, like making fun of Charlie Kirk's death or something.

Also, can never look at Frenchie the same way now that I know that he is IDF war criminal. Is Eric Kripke a Zionist?

Light entertainment may be right. There's nothing really going on in it and none of it really matters, especially outside of the protagonists' immediate narratives.

I think the Fallout show is the epitome of what happens to "intellectual property" in virtually every industry now. Fallout is just reduced to a set of thin, hollow images moving against a generic post-apoc background, with all the meaning and substance scraped away, parasitizing the corpse of the intent of the original creators.

Like, there's so much fan service in this fucking show, and I don't understand why. I get that having the stuff there is essential but I don't get what the intent is, since they seem to include these elements just to take a big shit on them. Shady Sands? Gone. New Vegas? Basically dead. The Legion? Reduced to one camp of retards with a line taped down the middle fighting over a piece of paper that doesn't matter.

So what's the appeal supposed to be?

>>47494
When that deaf character started talking I had to double check to see if it was like dubbed over it felt so fake

Honestly the shows been shit since season 2

I tried to watch a Japanese Netflix series called MISS KING. It's about a woman whose professional shogi playing father abandons her and her mother to run off with another woman. After running off his career explodes he becomes the best shogi player in Japan or some shit. Our protagonist vows revenge on her father for abandoning her and her mother.

Anyways, there's just something about Japanese live action media that is kinda bizarre to me. The body language is really awkward and alien. It just makes me cringe. In one scene, this piece of shit fuccboi character is emotionally manipulating his girlfriend for some reason or another I forget, and the body language that I would expect, that I would perceive as natural in that situation would be for example: that the fuccboi walks up to the gf puts his hand on her face whispers while their faces are really close together maybe puts a hand on her waist or some shit like that. What happens instead is that the fuccboi briskly walks like a fucking turbo autist right up to the gf and gives her a retard bear hug. And the way it's directed, you know it's meant to come off as passionate or romantic but it's just mechanical and awkward. Most Japanese live action shit is like this. They don't really do intimacy well. Of course it's just the cultural difference. Body language like anything else varies across cultures, but nevertheless I can't get over it. And that's why I prefer Japanese series that don't revolve around heavily around intimacy and romance.

<gets destroyed the next ep after it turns out it works

>the son finally stood up to the big bad

>gets his ass beat immediately

this show is so ass lol. im not inherently against diverging from source material but at least garth ennis knows how to tie a plot together. this is just a fucking mess

What if I told you that's exactly what the original creators intent was?

Corporations launching the nukes first? Was intended by the unreleased fallout film script?

Contemplating nuking the factions? Ulysses already did it.

The Enclave didn't even exist until Fallout 2. And that game was a massive meme. And you already know which faction and city survived, if you played it.

In fact, the show went out of its way to explain why vaults are the way the are. There was nothing special in Fallout. They became a social experiment for Enclave in 2. They were a complete mess afterwards.

The show isn't very good, because Fallout isn't very good. But it is indubitably Fallout. 2 more than than any other entry.

>>47655
Fallout 2 thematically expands on the story of Fallout 1. I like Enclave as a faction because it serves as a counterpart to Unity, and mirror to NCR. Humanity nuking itself again makes sense, because why wouldnt repeating mistakes of the past lead them to the same fate? There is nothing wrong with introducing new elements, that is what sequels should do. The issue here is exact opposite, the self-referential ouroboros of media franchises.

>>47655
>What if I told you that's exactly what the original creators intent was?

I'd say "who the hell cares"

>>47577
>Solja Boy gives Omelanduh the super juice that makes him immortal even though he hates him
<bruh it's what my Nazi wife that my son fucked would want

The finale sure as hell better make up for this, because right now it just looks like they've written themselves into a corner and whatever solution they come up with is going to feel like a massive asspull

>>47673
It wont, the boys has always been shit since season 2 and the ending is going to be trashed by everyone judging by how shit the season has been

>>47674
Eh I consider it at least a step up over season 4, aka the one where the writers decided to make Hughie suffer for no reason whatsoever and intended him getting raped as comedic. Between that and him getting blamed by the narrative for getting raped AGAIN I was right about ready to strangle the writers and Starlight.

>>47675
season 5 has been so ass bro what are you on, outside of the one or two homolander scenes that are decent its a mess of nothing happening and nothing interesting

>all we get is a milquetoast and uncreative satire of the Trump government and the alt-right
I can't understand people who think the show is remotely better than the comic, lol.

>>47682
Season 1 showed a lot of potential and they completely squandered it

>>47673
>Solja Boy gives Omelanduh the super juice that makes him immortal even though he hates him
That makes the finale even more stupid. Spoilers btw
Homelander gets blasted with radiation to the point that he loses his powers and becomes totally human. Gets brained with a crowbar instantly. The End.

FFS dude is stated to have survived a fucking NUKE, but radiation somehow depowers him? What? And then okay, Soldier Boy apparently got the better version of The V-serum so he's immortal and unaging, while Homelander isn't… except Homelander was both biologically Soldier Boy's son, and also had a different version of the V-formula AND THEN injected V1 before the finale. Vought also states Homelander is more powerful than Soldier Boy (at least by design) and given the genetics and formula, Homelander should have the same immunity even before.

>>47691
idrc about all that powerscaling bullshit but the soldier boy and v juice part was narratively so fucking stupid

4chans /tv/ board is going insane over the ending of the boys

File: 1779404347237.jpg (80.41 KB, 1080x932, HIwd4INW0AAltfs.jpg)

the good omens finale could ve been a fully fledged season if gaiman had kept it in his pants but oh well, i still enjoyed it. im glad they went for thematic closure instead of appealing to fandomites

>>47710
Good Omens should have remained a single Season. The first Season was good, everything else after came off like a bad parody.

>>47699
Not even powerscaling. Dude survived nuclear radiation, but is now vulnerable to radiation after being ENHANCED by the same serum that let his biological father survive Nerve Gas, Radiation and a virus designed to kill supes.

>>47713
>Good Omens should have remained a single Season. The first Season was good, everything else after came off like a bad parody.
its pretty much an open secret that the original book was mostly written by pratchett (pbuh)

>>47707
why? did they want homelander to win?

>>47665
>Fallout show bad, because industry bad, original author intent good
>Fallout show IS original author intent
>"who the hell cares"
Shocker.

>>47682
The "characters" of the comics are paper thin and most of the supes are just backdrop. The show is much better character-wise (and with A-Train they actually managed to conclude a character arc in a satisfying way), the critique of the media, corporations and American exceptonalism is all there, no anti-Zionism because Kripke and his team are probably Zionists.

Also, the dialog in the panel you posted was adopted word by word by Stan Edgar in this season.

>>47686
Season 2 and 3 are also okay; except the finale of season 3. This is where they kept resetting the story and nerfed Homelander for no reason.

>>47727
Sorry to hurt your feelings, but your post is really stupid and shows you don't really understand what you're talking about or what you're replying to.

>>47731
>The "characters" of the comics are paper thin and most of the supes are just backdrop. The show is much better character-wise
You didn't actually read it or you're genuinely mentally retarded. You're just parroting buzzwords like "character development" without even knowing what it means. There's plenty of subtle exposition across the entire run to tell you what every main character is like.

>(and with A-Train they actually managed to conclude a character arc in a satisfying way),

They killed him almost immediately because they didn't know what the fuck to do with him, lmfao.

Did you get this "opinion" from a YouTube video?

>>47731
>>47735
Also if the characters in the comics are "paper thin" what the fuck does that make the slopfest that is the TV show? It is carried entirely by the performance of most of the actors (honestly just two, you know which ones) and that's it, it falls apart immediately after the first season with that especially strong episode 1.

This is 100% the opinion of a 4chan midwit. All the themes, parallels between characters, foreshadowing (if someone brings up "asspulls" you just know you're talking to a braindead person), exposition, the escalation with each supe of the week leading to that climax, etc – all of this is completely ignored just to complain le "character development" or whatever. CinemaSins retardation but applied to comic books, somehow.

>>47731
s1 and 2 were really good but then it just gets really meandery and aimless and the last season was dogshit and the ending completely unearned and out of nowhere

funnily its the inverse of the comic, where the pacing is shit to start with bcs its too bogged down in gross-out evil supes stuff instead of the plot proper but where the second half is great with a strong ending

i read the comic long ago and loved it but sure theres plenty about it that sucks or can be offputting to others, its some of Ennis' worst stuff on the whole, but it has plenty of well written moments and character beats and is highly important for a lot of the good bits of the show too despite people acting like the first seasons are good in spite of the comics and not because of them

>>47737
>its some of Ennis' worst stuff on the whole

I don't think that's true.
