>Carol is just a turbo American brained arrogant Karen though.
Yeah, terminal yankee syndrome
>>46959I watched a bit of the pilot and the audio quality was shockingly bad.
>>46973The producers seem to mock americans in this way.
Should I believe the hype and start watching Pluribus? AppleTV usually produces decent stuff, it's from the creator of Breaking Bad, etc. but I've read the synopsis of it and reads so ridiculous…
>>47003If you like science fiction, actual subversive science fiction that asks scary difficult questions and challenges our understanding of reality in interesting ways a la Twilight Zone, Philip K. Dick, Stanislaw Lem, and other things of that nature then I think Pluribus thus far has been a pretty spectacular return to form for the genre.
If you don't like thinking about stuff and you just want a constant onslaught of explosions and bright colors and music to keep you mindlessly entertained then you might find Pluribus boring.
>>46926i only like carol. plurbs is unsufferable and so are all the other survivors specially that dumb ass indian lady
>>47014Except carol is wrong about everything and a miserable cunt even before pluribus fixes everything
Fallout would be an okay-ish show if it wasn't for the constant 50s and 60s music.
Any good shows?
>>47069Watched Silo, it is decent.
>>47014Most annoying character to exist award.
I hate how so many TV shows these days have an intro that's just a simple title card. What happened to intros like The Sopranos and Twin Peaks, that actually took time to introduce the atmosphere?
>>47003its ok especially the concept, but way too slow imo, and the mc is really dumb and unlikeable (which I think she is supposed to be, on some level at least). I think they also didnt go the way giving the most interesting choices and situations.
The final episodes reveal the real hero; and what a chad, if anyone save humanity it will be him
>>47002>the Joined are literally everyone in the world all at the same timethey clearly arent, unless you think the average person is fine with eating its parents, yet still starving most of the population because we shouldnt use plants or harm anything living, or fine with sending its body to act as a sex toy for the survivors. They also dont have any culture, or even fulfill their basic comforts (eating slop everyday yaaay!).The virus, wether designed or evolved, clearly "hack" everyone brain to create a network that an entirely new (and fundamentally completely inhumane) consciousness will use as its hardware, but its clearly not a merging of existing people (although the new consciousness have access to their memories and physical bodies, its personality and desires are entirely its own, just like if a hacker took control of a server to run his own shit on it rather than what the original owner had running, still have access to data, but the person is gone as long as the resources are used to run the hacker app instead).I also started watching a knight of seven kingdom, books were pretty good iirc, especially the second one, and this seem to be following closely so it should be good (actors are doing good job so far)
The pitt is pretty good at cliffhangers, I finished the first season in record time. Its just usual medical drama but I like it
>>47071loved it, even read the book after (worth it I feel)
>>47066I'm just mad this is the bethesda theme park fallout (and the writing is very meh which doesnt help). Imagine if they had told the story of the master from fallout 1 instead, how much better the main plot would be rather than this crap that shit all over the legacy of the games

Getting really tired of most Leftists/Progressives online seemingly being horrified at the concept of having.. standards when it comes to certain franchises and IPs.
The rushing to defence of lazy crap like Fallout, Witcher, Rings of Power, NuTrek really just drives home to me that toxic inclusivity seems to be a massive issue for lefties.
The reality is, IP's survive based on gatekept fandoms.
This is why Sport is the most successful "subculture" out there, people become seriously invested in their teams, chew out players, coaches, cheer and cry when they win, imagine if lefties came into sport and started demanding that it's wrong to criticize a coach or shitty player and idiotic plays and strategy because it's mean and not inclusive and they got their way, sport would largely become dull, passionless and boring.
You hear all the time from leftist commentators "it's not a sport, there are no winners and losers", but honestly, yes, there are, as a lover of classic Fallout, it's tone and setting, I am a loser here, the Fallout setting I loved and enjoyed has been taken out the back of the shed and shot and replaced with a cheap theme park ride version of it that doesn't understand it's tone or values at all, As a Trekkie since I was 6, yes am a loser, I will likely never, ever see a satisfying continuation of the Trek story and setting post DS9, we will never see a serious take on the aftermath of the Dominion War, we will never see how the Prophets/Bajor story plays out, we won't see what happens to Cardassia or the Gamma Quadrant etc.
When Leftist commentators and media bootlickers keep pushing this "you are not allowed to criticize something, it's just not for you", how do they not see they are just engaging in Corporate bootlicking, the hollowing out of a scene and subculture and setting, and turning it into a mass consumption brand slop. Star Trek stayed relevant for 40 years due to it's tribalistic, often offputting, autistic ass fanbase, now thanks to toxic inclusivity and attempts to make Star Trek a "mass brand" and leftist idiots attacking the fandom for having standards, it's shows can't even hit 100k viewers and the entire setting is just awful generic scifi slop.
This is one case where the right are actually correct and the left has lost the plot. As much as I hate faggots like Nerdrotic and CriticalDrinker, they are far more correct than the lefty retards like Steve Shives and co who defend this crap.
>>47223>What happened to intros like The Sopranos and Twin Peaks, that actually took time to introduce the atmosphere?Because people binge shows when they stream so nobody wants to watch the intro back to back 10 times in a row. They have a skip feature but people probably don't want to be bothered with that and it saves the studio time and money.
>>47227Whose twitter did you steal this from
>>46517What classes are represented in shows I've seen? Not necessarily shows I like–
Lumpen– Shameless
Proletarian-Malcolm in the Middle
Petit Bourgeois- Fawlty Towers
"Ruined" Bourgeois- Arrested Development, Schitt's Creek
Haute Bourgeois- White Lotus
Accurate? Any other shows which have an obvious class aspect?
>>47227Where's the proofs??? I feel like actual leftists are some of the most critical of lazy cashgrab media
If you're thinking of just being normie libs, that's a completely different group
the only praise ive seen for the fallout tv show is like if the RLM video on rogue one was sincere lol
>>47353dunno but its very good and a good denunciation of corporate "culture" and capitalism abuses
>>47354yeah and I'm honestly fine if there's not another season. the workers taking over was a great way to end the series imo.
>>47353>>47354>>47356>this is le most le class conscious!!!!<look inside>generic liberal complaints about white collar jobsok
class consciousness isnt when ideas or thoughts btw, marx used it to refer to proletarian action lmao
>>47359Why are you rude like this
>>47360bc you clearly need to watch more films(notice how i specifically avoided saying tv shows). reading some marx before using his terminology wouldnt hurt either lopl
>>47359>is it the most class conscious?<dunno but its good>>this is le most le class conscious!!!!you need to work on your reading comprehension before lecturing people on proper usage of words
>>47373how does it deal with Iran-Contra?
>>47373that sounds exactly like what I was expecting it to be idk why anyone would ever assume differently
>>47361I'm not anon lol I just think your posture is hysterical. Do you talk to your coworkers like this?
>>47375It's barely touched upon. In fact it's only briefly mentioned in one scene.
>>47377I didn't think it would be that bad. I can tolerate the right wing propaganda if the film is decent but it's just bad all around
>>46615>>46734I saw it some months ago, it's not bad at all. Good acting and enjoyable if you're interested in the time period. It swings between portraying á´‰uá´‰lossnW as a cowardly, opportunistic buffoon and a heroic figure who takes over Italy. Oh and there's a scene where he straight up looks at the camera and says "Make Italy great again"
i love tv but never viewed it as an overly complex medium to enjoy and understand but all this the pitt shit is really opening my eyes that a lot of people just do not have the comprehensive ability to understand basic screenwriting decisions. this is exacerbated whenever the mental disease known as "fandom" is present
The fallout show kind of sucks
>>47492it's light entertainment with a heavy anti-capitalist slant. It's okay. Sometimes the 50s/60s music is annoying as fuck (but I guess they can't skip on that because of the aesthetic of the game), and Ella Purnell's character is written like some quirky wholesome chungus which sometimes gets on my nerves.
Well, The Boys really overstayed their welcome. Making Kimiko say "that makes we wanna tit-slap you, and then hug you" made me die of cringe. The satire needs to be sharper, but to be fair it was written before Trump's second term and it's hard to even make a satire of that. Gore, perverted sex and strong language do not shock anybody anymore, for this show to end in a relevant way they need to really push the boundaries where it hurts, like making fun of Charlie Kirk's death or something.
Also, can never look at Frenchie the same way now that I know that he is IDF war criminal. Is Eric Kripke a Zionist?
>>47493>it's light entertainment with a heavy anti-capitalist slant. It's okay. There's nothing really going on in it and none of it really matters, especially outside of the protagonists' immediate narratives.
I think the Fallout show is the epitome of what happens to "intellectual property" in virtually every industry now. Fallout is just reduced to a set of thin, hollow images moving against a generic post-apoc background, with all the meaning and substance scraped away, parasitizing the corpse of the intent of the original creators.
Like, there's so much fan service in this fucking show, and I don't understand why. I get that having the stuff there is essential but I don't get what the intent is, since they seem to include these elements just to take a big shit on them. Shady Sands? Gone. New Vegas? Basically dead. The Legion? Reduced to one camp of retards with a line taped down the middle fighting over a piece of paper that doesn't matter.
So what's the appeal supposed to be?
>>47494When that deaf character started talking I had to double check to see if it was like dubbed over it felt so fake
Honestly the shows been shit since season 2
>>47492everything kinda sucks a lot
>>47507But not the sexy kind of suck.
