>>2402275>>2402403I am speaking in a general sense here, but I have some theories about the pedocon phenomenon:
The right-wing paranoia about grooming and the chestbeating about putting pedophiles in wood-chippers is unusual in the context of their other views, because it's one of the few times they'll (act like they) care about the consent of children. Aside from fearmongering over transgender people.
I suspect there are 2 notable motivating factors for Conservatives to be against against child rape/molestation. They see it as icky, which may be why it is sometimes equated with anything queer in their minds. They also see a sexual act against their child as someone tampering with their property.
This ties into my next point.
Cons often support abusing children in other ways, since they see children as their property. Right-Wingers are more likely to support using Corporal Punishment against children. Right-Wingers are more likely to support stuff like "troubled teens" camps, which involve parents paying people to kidnap their children and sending them to reeducation camps. Republicans are fine with laws that prevent Children from getting medical treatment without their parents. Conservatives do not care about consent in these situations.
So, because conservatives generally ignore the consent of children, it's easier for the
pedocon to engage in the sexual abuse of children. They've only taken it one step further.
