>>2488433>I don’t want a new president. I want the destruction of the nation state. The people who will pay for your little fantasy are the ones already crushed between paychecks, the kids who skip meals, the old folks who cannot afford their meds. Wishing for collapse from a cushioned armchair is cowardice dressed as courage. It's not radical thinking. It's rich boy nihilism disguised as intellect. You want chaos. Fine. But the chaos lands on the heads of the working class while you clap from the sidelines.
Marxism as espoused by Marx doesn’t see the state as something that just disappears like magic. The state is the official expression of class antagonism. It exists to provide the framework for bourgeois society and to limit certain forms of competition. A proletarian revolution isn’t about nuking it, it’s about taking control and transforming it. In a mature communist society, the state may eventually fade, but that is a slow process as class divisions vanish and coercion becomes unnecessary. Marx’s vision is grounded in democracy and work, not fireworks or empty manifestos. Socialism from below is messy, loud, and hands-on… unions in basements, strike lines in the rain, workers building power themselves. Accelerationist fantasies are just elitism in a hoodie. It's paternalistic and historically clueless. You don’t destroy the state into utopia, you seize its levers, rebuild its institutions, and maybe then it withers. That takes strategy, sweat, and solidarity, not hot takes.
Collapse creates vacuums. Vacuums are filled by whatever is organized enough to grab the reins, and that damn sure won't be socialism. You are not delivering revolution. You are setting the stage for reactionaries, authoritarians, and warlords. Emancipation is an act, not a catastrophe. If you actually wanted liberation you would be building organizations that put power in people’s hands, not daydreaming about the world burning so you can feel righteous. Revolution is not an aesthetic. It is a project. Get to work or get out of the way.

Amarna's Anthony on Naughty Dog's Jak 2:
https://amarna-forum.net/t-2000s-Cultural-Autopsy-Thread--328#pid7264
>If there's one word to describe this game, it's Cynical . The way Naughty Dog behave now is absolutely disgusting, a gangbusters striving for both commercial and "critical" success at all costs. But there's no reason to be surprised at that. They're just doing what they did with Jak2 in response to a more advanced (in badness) culture. Nothing they've thrown together here actually works very well at all. But it's all good enough for their audience. PS2 owners who like "video games" in general, who still impulsively buy things with mascots on the boxes, who will think "woah, cool, it's better now" if that mascot glowers, has a gun, and is dressed like Fred Durst.
>When the discussing the above image and the culture around this stuff a thought that came up was that this is what the PS2 was to most Americans who played it and have memories of the good times . These are not Final Fantasy X and ICO people. PS2 was about Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter. Again to the point of the thread, this was a horrible, horrible time for popular culture. I would say a time solely redeemed by Japanese works having a global presence which some were able to appreciate. If you look at a chart full of "best of the PS2' titles or something like that things might have looked pretty good. But you were surrounded by people who sincerely enjoyed Jak2, and who interpreted every Japanese game they happened to buy as more Jak2. You could personally do all right if you knew better, but this was not a good moment for gaming in the west. You may have seen the clips doing the rounds of 2000s "gamer culture" media. Tv shows were gross, stupid Americans call Japanese games stupid, whiny, angsty, get excited about how cool Gears of War looks, sell Halo 3 to people who didn't play the other two, etc. The PS2's Japanese catalogue was pearls before swine for the most part.
>There is stuff to do in between, "side missions" where you do boring video game stuff in these streets. Checkpoint races and such. If you've done this in one game you've done it in all of them. But then that's basically everything about this game. Stock video game parts just stacked up end to end painted cool 'toon to entertain American PS2 spastics.
>You can try to find nice moments, but even when they take a good idea out of the cultural moment Naughty Dog/Americans just make it all into ugly garbage eventually. It's their instinct. 'Toon is the form the American soul is drawn towards constant realisation of. Like the Japanese with the anime girl. Naughty Dog looked at the elves from Lodoss War and ended up turning the design into nu-metal Johnny Test within two iterations. An ember of humanity left in the American soul forces them to recognise that Lodoss War and Final Fantasy 7 are beautiful (see OP for reference images), and then give the ideas a few years to branch off and be iterated upon in the American imagination and look what comes of it.>>2488769THEY THANKED HIM WELL IN 1976

>>2488835I've got a hypothesis that as Capitalism decays more and more (while simultaneously exterminating whatever remains of prior forms of social relations) the only language that becomes "safe" or what have you is that of the contract. I saw something from some Tumblrites a while back like
>"Well what if instead of 'Till death do us part' we change wedding vows to 'as long as this remains healthy for us'."Which I mean, its a minor thing, but it signals a conscious shift away from the "romantic" language of yesteryear and the ideas of love as this eternal transcendent thing, into the language of therapy and contract negotiation.
Isn't there a huge trend of men just not approaching women? Our social relations are defined by capitalist exchange, I wouldn't be shocked if dating apps morph even more into "purchasing" relationships that can be cancelled at any time.
Let me address some responses in a late fashion.
>>2488571If it leaves the bounds of being personal, it is private
>>2488587The most nonsense response to a simple statement, filled with irrational and overly emotional slander towards me with no backing to it. A scared reformist who does not realize they do not a have choice. Collapse and total abolishment of capitalist society is mandatory for everyone. You hate that? Too bad, you can’t stop it. Don’t delude yourself.
You think you’re a stalwart defense against the liberal. You are in reality nothing more a incrementalist liberal who thinks they are well read, but in actuality missed the tidbit where Marx had stated that revolutionary development differs in each country.
You speak of building unions in basements a society where many people cannot afford a basement. You speak of strike lines in the rain in a time where ones simple mobility throughout civilization has price tag on it, and the bourgeoisie and their machines readying with the safeties off. You speak of seizing institutions as they rot and decay into nothing. You are disconnected from the reality of the situation, and it shows.
And creating a Vacuum? That’s a part of the point. The other part of the point is filling the vacuum with the liberated proletariat guided by communists.
>>2488591The US itself is also not sustainable, or at least the nation is. It will reach it’s breaking point soon.
>>2488601Nothing copium about it. I’m accounting for climate change here
>>2488598No one is speaking of random destruction. And both of your statements are not absolutes either.
>>2488769I’m not even going to debate why that is a terrible idea. I will simply tell you that whatever happens is a your problem, not a me problem.
>>2488876Oh it for sure is. But that's Capitalism for you. I'm pretty sure Japan has "Host" and "Hostess" clubs which are basically just… renting social interaction for a few hours? There's some popular show I think where a dude legit rents a family, complete with a "wife" and "daughter" that he pays to pretend to be his.
Incels fetishize the idea of AI sexbots because it completely destroys the non-market aspects of intimate relationships that, I suspect, they
subconsciously don't know how to deal with. If they want food they buy food, if they want entertainment they buy entertainment, at least in prior economic forms there were elements of barter and individual uniqueness. You go to multiple stores to look for deals, you haggle, you form social bonds. The standardization of Capital and Technology has replaced the human element, you get a 6 pack of beer for $9.99 regardless of whether you're friends with the guy behind the counter or not.
One of the only realms in which Capital hasn't completely annihilated the need for any kind of value
outside of capital is human relationships, and even then it creeps into them at a certain income level. Like for the majority of people, to get a partner into your bed you've got to develop non-capital traits: charisma, looks, fitness, etcetera. For the guy who holds up in his house all day, ordering food from Grubhub and playing video games constantly, these are things that just seem terrifying to him. You don't get the "finality" of market transactions. If you buy a pack of beer, you have that pack of beer and can drink it. If you invite a woman out for coffee are you dating or just friends? If you're dating, is it appropriate to kiss her? Should you ask permission or would that be weird? It's a grey area, you don't get the "comfort" of a cash register jingle to tell you that you're in the clear.
Like that's the really fucked up part. There's an example they use in this TV show on the Unabomber where they point out we've been so whipped by technology that even if you're the only driver on a lonely road late at night, if you see a red light at an intersection, you're just compelled to stop. You just think to yourself "I have to, red = stop". Well we're Homo Economicus now; the little jingle of a cash register, the green checkmark of "Approved!" once you swipe your credit card, the joyous little scratching of your receipt being printed, all of that from the moment your born has been teaching you that you're in the clear: approved, safe, go ahead. And pretty soon we're terrified of acting outside of those forms. There's no receipt that comes with a relationship, no jingle, it's just humans being human. The only assurance you've got are old forms of romance that seem increasingly at odds with every other interaction in your life: a wedding band isn't a grocery store receipt.

>>2488920>how was this not also the case in england when marx was writing? It was the case in many. But modern civilization wasn’t locked on a track towards total collapse back then. I am not exaggerating about the decay of American institutions. One would be lucky to find salvage at the rate they’re falling apart at. And one must not forget the location we discuss of, the USA. The car centric transportation systems of the United States are more of a deterrence against revolutionary activities than many give it credit for. That is what I mean by “mobility having a price tag on it”.

>>2488785i didn't use the word progressive, so why are you putting it in quotes?
And why did you not address what I actually said:
>Proletarian internationalism is not anti-nationalism because anti-nationalism is against the very existence of nations, while internationalism, especially proletarian internationalism, is for respecting the sovereignty of revolutionary governments, especially anti-colonial governments, and proletarian governments.Do you disagree that
internationalism is different from
antinationalism? The proletariat has no country, but they must still seize power in existing nations, and as they seize power in existing nations, these different bases of power must cooperate with and respect one another. That's proletarian
inter-nationalism. By simply declaring the nation "abolished" as soon as you seize power you only create a power vacuum. This is why
internationalism is different from
antinationalism. And how can the proletariat win supremacy from the national bourgeoisie without first overthrowing the comprador bourgeoisie? This is the anti-colonial struggle.
>>2488872>"Well what if instead of 'Till death do us part' we change wedding vows to 'as long as this remains healthy for us'."<Which I mean, its a minor thing, but it signals a conscious shift away from the "romantic" language of yesteryear and the ideas of love as this eternal transcendent thing, into the language of therapy and contract negotiation. And you have that backwards. Eternal marriage without divorce has nothing to do with romance.
Jesus Christ said anyone who divorces for any reason besides adultery and remarries is guilty of adultery. Jesus Christ also said that marriage itself is bad and only exists to save you from the sin of fornication.
>3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
>4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
>7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
>8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
>10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
>11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”Jesus also implies a progressive moral evolution, where Moses allowed the Israelites to divorce for spurious reasons, where Christ would not, so therefore with more moral development, all would progress to the highest stage which is celibacy.

So they would actually want him planning for longer, in cooperation with others, and allude to an organization. As it stands he makes it seem like he acted completely alone and almost impulsively without serious ideological motive.
I guess this is suspicious if you think he really did operate with a hidden motive that is being concealed (mossad) but I just don’t find that really plausible and I think people are saying that because, why not, everyone is lying and wish casting and making up their own motive so if you aren’t doing the same you’re going to be crushed.
>>2489065The case the feds are presenting to the public for politics is likely different from the case they'll actually use against him in court. Because no jury in America is going to believe this 22 year old Republican twink was acting as some trans antifa supersoldier as part of a organized terror cell. They'd very likely risk totally fucking up the case and getting a mistrial if they tried.

This isn't a universal issue though, some communities are affected more than others, and America's hypercapitalist hellscape amplifies this atomization.
Genuinely a huge amount of Gen Z have no idea how to make friends and don't go to any real life events, they just go to school/work and then go home to consume media and sleep. i'm also fairly sure republicans aren't competent enough to actually control the tiktok algorithm in any meaningful way, as that would require hiring scientists and non-indian programmers. they'll just try to force all Trump's official events and statements to be on the front page to stroke his ego like post-Musk xitter and start manually deleting any footage of protests.

>2018Good times, remember when the turkish bots hit the garden network?
>>2489203>>2489209Somewhat. I think it'll go down similar to how Musk took over Twitter. There was hand-wringing in the media and from software engineers about how broken Twitter was going to be once he took over and that did happen, like when Elon implemented blocking users from reading Twitter without logging in. Ultimately, it ended up becoming a valuable tool for the right to spread misinformation and propaganda to their base.
But I will say that what makes TikTok so addictive is it's FYP algorithm. I don't know how they'll keep users on the app if they have to "re-create a set of content-recommendation algorithms". But US users will still be engaging with a US-ified version of TikTok.

Real talk though with how big companies like Disney and WBD are and how much of the market they control it's kinda hilarious that all it takes to destroy hundreds of billions in "value" is the mere threat of government regulation.

Not the pathetic part, but the part where you're comparing a large group of protesters directly attacking riot police to Patriot "homosexual femboy fiasco" "cannot handle females" "someone spent the money on drugs" "used an antifa photographer and then tried to sue them" "widely accused of being feds" "unmasked by Proud Boys" "killed their own member in a car crash" "almost got hit by a train while retreating" Front.

>what's the right-wing solution to the declining middle class for example? In my view I think the free market stuff is stupid, people here would consider my views of economics to be "socdem." Which is the sort of economic system I think works well.
>what's the right-wing solution to the declining middle class for example? Are you talking about the center-right or far-right. The center-right is very pro-free market whereas the far-righ their is no consensus on economics, but anecdotally speaking based on people I know it would probably be "socdem" stuff.

Anyways you guys might be wondering why I posted here, I was lurking this site after the Charlie Kirk shooting because I figured you guys would be celebrating it and have good takes, which tbf you did.
>>2489339>It the same issue of a small ragtag group larping like they are going to take over when its only a handful of people. But that's exactly it: French socialists aren't a handful of people. They're organised workers. For example, when the French unions cut power to politicians homes, they don't get v& like the Atomwaffen adventurists.
Neo-Nazis tend to organise outside of society. Socialists tend to organise as a society, because socialism demands that. Yes, we have our little LARP groups too, but the core of the movement is the worker class. Look at all the union blockades and weapons manufacture protests (not sure if they hit your news). That's how our dockworkers did more real damage to da joos in months than neo-Nazis have done in decades.
>>2489339>Anyways you guys might be wondering why I posted here,We tend to get a quick surge of newcomers when there's a happening so I guessed it was something to do with Kirk.
>>whenever I check /pol/, never any actual attempt to fix things.>IMO a lot of people there are just edgy conservativesPretty much. Sometimes people forget /pol/ stands for "Politically Incorrect", it's edgy shitposts. That said, there were a few (few) people in /pol/eague who were fun to talk to and not just screeching about jewish niggers.
>>2489345>But that's exactly it: French socialists aren't a handful of people. Good for them then. But why is their movement weaker now then sixty years ago? The French Communist Party used to be one of the biggest parties in France and now they are a shell of their former self.
>Yes, we have our little LARP groups too, but the core of the movement is the worker class. Well I'm glad that you at least still have mass politics in your country, but again, the French militant left is much weaker now they they were historically.
Their is a real issue of politics in Western countries is that political militancy (far-left, far-right, other) has been in a general decline sense the mid twentieth century. Every decade their is more surveillance, and more sophisticated intelligence networks, and now their are custom made AI bots. This website is probably to small for the last group but they are all over social media and larger websites.
In the 2010s the far-right did have an upsurge but it has been killed off by the Trump "vibe shift" aka a different pr policy. Right now the potential of the far-right is very low, but you guys have had an upswing in the past few years. I don't know if you guys will beat the very powerful surveillance state but it will be interesting to see you guys try.
The only real advice I have for you guys is don't let bad actors take control of your institutions. People who are untrustworthy, mentally ill, or are naive. In my experience of being in IRL far-right groups (Identity Europa, NJP) those tend to be the people who turned out to be feds or who under pressure made terrible decisions or gave up secret info to police or journalists. Granted things are probably different in France in how your national police and national intelligence interact with dissident groups.

>>2489616Manufactured discontent, you can get away with paying a group less if they're seen as generally unliked. Spam poo in loo and do not redeem memes and they'll start to seem undesirable to hire. If they're not here on an h1b for tech work, they'll have to work low paying food service jobs, which leads to a preponderance of them in such positions.
Incidentally this feeling of antagonism and being forced into certain positions is one of the major reasons they hire their own, we're seeing a parallel to why there are so many Jewish bankers in real time.
>>2489638>Manufactured discontentSure, if you've never worked with them before.
I have and the majority of them can't properly communicate and are meek. Sure, they might be nice but I don't give a fuck about their temperament when there is a deadline and things that need to be completed with the standards that are set. What use is there building solidarity with imperial core workers who lose their class consciousness the moment the worker comes from somewhere else? You won't even investigate the root cause of why that is and just blame the immigrants and not the people outsourcing your job or creating refugee crises through imperialist wars and coups and importing the immigrants. You people consistently insist that international proletarian solidarity is impossible because the bourgeoisie "import subhuman shitskins" or whatever. You're a self fulfilling prophecy. I hate you. I like to use /r/stupidpol as a barometer for what he most concentrated midwit discourse is and they are cheering on the creation of new categories of terrorism that mean literally nothing and can encompass everyone (NVE).
NVE is part of a strategy to create a way to categorize everyone who holds any anti-establishment view as extremist, as a legal category that can be used to monitor, arrest, prosecute and punish. It will also allow them to go after any “organization” including associations like chats and clubs. They are also building a category of transgender ideology violence extremism TIVE which is going to go after LGBT groups, which do have organization. So if there is transgender “violence”, in quotes because it could be anything including opposition ICE or Israel, they don’t just get harder punishment for being transgender, any LGBT group or organization they belonged to will be investigated and punished as well. NVE, TIVE are categories of extremism that will be used to go after any left wing organization from a reading group to the PSL, then the ACP and finally the DSA.
I just mention it because the midwit anti-woke response is wow that sounds great we need to do something about kids being radicalized by memes. It’s perfect, these motives are incoherent! Too bad they are simp not able to realize *their own* politics are incoherent and by their own admission they are just responding viscerally and emotionally to their social media feed in exactly the same way. That is nihilism baby. That’s you.
