Forcing the analysis of zionism into the 'fascist' box along with the whole 20th century Left keeps the focus on the symptom and inadvertently:
1. Traps the Palestinian struggle in a Western ideology debate of 'fascism vs communism' thereby gatekeeping it to the Western Left
2. Keeps the fight divided on an ideological plane rather than one that transcends Western political framing (international jewry/communism vs jewish nationalism and all other 'Western' isms) and focuses on the real national liberation struggle around self-determination and sovereignty. This is where global support can be achieved because it directly links the struggle to the nations subverted by the same ideology.
The struggle today has evolved or is at least more apparent from 80 years ago. The disease is now a supremacist ideology and vast political entity that has covertly conquered and redirected the power of previous empires creating a more sinister one of its own.
We have to name the issue of *today* and it certainly is not basic 'white supremacy' or simple 'fascism'.
