>Letters: A Patrimonial Bonapartist Prediction for November
>A suitable framework should help us predict what will happen, not just explain what is happening now. Over the past year, I have argued that the Trump administration is neither a fascist movement-state nor a typical right-wing government. Instead, it functions as a Bonapartist state in its structure and operates in a patrimonial manner.[1] In Bonapartism, the executive branch acts independently from a divided ruling class during a crisis. Patrimonialism turns public office into a personal domain, where loyalty is more important than rules, and the line between public and private becomes blurred, as Weber described.[2] If this view is correct, it implies a clear prediction for the 2026 midterms: the governing bloc is likely to interfere in the elections systematically, not merely episodically, because electoral defeat would threaten the networks of power on which it depends. Thoughts?

one nice thing about our hyperindividualist fully-automated post-social future is we won't spend so much money on funeral preparations anymore because most people will not found after they die until their checking account is depleted and overdraft limit reached and their autopayments start declining, by which they will just be a husk that's mostly rotted away and eaten by vermin.

>>2892509Mexico was basically semi-feudal at the time but thats not why Marx supported the US. Marx like most Europeans of the time had an overly idealized view of the United States and lacked a real undergerding theory of colonialism anyway. As a result him supporting Amerikkka can be excused as simple ignorance of settler-colonialism as an actually existing system. He knew of course about how the US treated native americans broadly but it was never properly contextualized to him in the language of genocide that we would use today. It's similar to how most amerikkkans don't really think much about how evil their country is until you confront them with it.
uyghas genuinely can't reconcile with the fact that Marx was just a racist asshole or at least, heavily euro-centric.
>>2892549jacksfilms will assassinate doug burgum?
>>2892571That's an explanation but not a refutation. If you actually look at the history of communist commentary on geopolitics you'd find that "campism" is actually the norm. The Bolshevik policy of revolutionary defeatism on all sides is actually an aberration, and even there Lenin only applied this reasoning to imperialist countries while explicitly supporting even bourgeois national liberation movements. Navigating the struggles between existing political forces to produce the best conditions for socialism is the only practical course of action. If you're going to argue that neither side can offer any improvement over the other and we should be neutral then you should actually demonstrate this with evidence and analysis as Lenin did. He didn't just point out that all the competing powers were capitalist and leave it at that.

>>2892693I can tell you that as someone who works in chicken production, we're just not doing as much checking now. USDA FSIS has been seriously defanged and it's made my job significantly easier- which is bad for the public. I make sure personally that we're applying biocide correctly (even though they're not doing as frequent drop tests for bacterial colonies) but I'm not paid enough to do that. Frankly I know nearly for sure the altershift isn't doing that. Hell, they don't even care about pH balance. And the amount of FSIS staff is also reduced, meaning they aren't on the floor watching to make sure we actually do things according to procedure.
Extrapolating from my experience, and the fact that like 4 f the 9 USDA labs we used to regularly send samples to are now closed permanently, we're fucked. The food supply is fucked. Cook everything you buy thoroughly. Assumed everything you eat has human poo poo on it.

>>2892799The only explanation I can think of is sunk cost fallacy
>>2892579The only defense I've seen for this is that it's been just as bad on other Navy ships. Shit food and high suicide rates are common even outside war zones.
So basically the entire Navy is being skimped out on, this is just an extreme example.
And I guarantee you they spend a shitton of money on food because of private contractors. Obscene levels of waste. It's why the US struggles to make missiles while Iran pumps them out, the economics are fucked.
>>2892801Whatโs to stop any sailor from just throwing their admiral overboard? Youโre already at sea, you have guns, what the fuck is the rest of the navy going to do? Destroy their own assets?
>>2892811There's a rigid military hierarchy (chain of command) where you only interact with the people immediately above and below you 99% of the time. In particular with aircraft carriers, they have thousands of people, they're basically floating cities. You're just a cog in the machine.
And really almost everyone there is just doing their jobs. They don't have strongly held political convictions, they just want to make a living and go home, not get sent to prison.
ALSO none of these ships are self-sustainable, they constantly need to be resupplied. If you engaged in mutiny the Navy would cut you off and you'd run out of supplies very quickly.

>>2892883Marines are no different from sailors in terms of how they're treated by the military hierarchy. They don't get special privileges, especially not food lol. It's officers and (sometimes) chiefs that do.
The main difference between marines and sailors is that marines are a lot more physically intense, and dumber.
>>2892811>Whatโs to stop any sailor from just throwing their admiral overboard?Carrot on a stick mentality. If they tolerate being abused now, they'll be handsomely rewarded and have all their needs set for life

i forgot how to embed links on here geg
>>2893076i wonder how many more of us there are
>>2893066The quantity is more notable than the quality.
The quality is a result of cooks on ships (excluding submarines) being generally speaking dumb and poorly trained. Before you join the Navy you take a general knowledge test, if you get the absolute lowest bare minimum score they make you a cook, and they only get trained for a few weeks. So the fact that the food quality is mostly poor is not shocking.
The quantity however is a sign of a weak supply chain. They have to ration food because they haven't been able to go into port and they haven't been able to get resupplied by support ships.

But isn't this a legitimate criticism? If you're a really religious Jew, and you hear that other Jews have re-taken your holy land and set up a Jewish state, and you go there only to learn that it's not a "Jewish state" in the sense of upholding the Jewish religion, but rather a secular nationalist state based on upholding the supremacy of Jews as an ethnic group, wouldn't you have a point in claiming that said state is illegitimate as a "Jewish state" on those grounds alone?
>>2893144yeah that criticism is justified by its own logic but it's also retarded because religion is dumb and backwards just like ethno-nationalism.
>>2893137rewatching the Nolan retelling of the Odysssey and the 1997 made for TV movie back to back I am reminded that Odysseus's crew should have thrown him overboard. he knowingly gets them all killed just so he can get home and stop his wife from remarrying even though it's a completely sensible thing to do after 20 god damn years.
>>2893144They don't like Israel because they think it's forbidden for Jews to create a state before the Messiah gets here. Which, sure. The issue is that the founders of Israel were secular nationalists for whom the Bible was a useful myth and historical document of the Jewish nation to point to and say "this is where we come from" and Palestine is the natural homeland of the Jews when planting their flag and pulling out the automatic weapons, but the superstitious aspects were basically irrelevant.
That doesn't date back to the Bible but 19th-century nationalism resulting from the French Revolution. And yeah you could say they say "God" gave it to them and he's backing them up, but that's not unique to Zionism. But in general back in the 1950s they tended to focus on different parts of the Bible than Evangelical religious Zionists do.
The liberal is deeply afraid for the nation in current times
https://sundayguardianlive.com/editors-choice/teaching-nationhood-to-gen-z-262241/amp/<There is a particular kind of vertigo that afflicts students (and teachers) in post-colonial democracies today. They carry two contradictory inheritances at once. From one directionโcall it the cosmopolitan Left, though its provenance is broader than any single ideologyโthey are told that the nation-state is a colonial residue, an artificial container imposed on older, more organic solidarities of caste, region, language, or class, and that its claims on loyalty are at best sentimental and at worst reactionary. From another directionโ the transactional Right of globalised capital and technocratic liberalismโthey are told that the nation is simply inefficient: a bureaucratic drag on markets, a border that supply chains route around, a jurisdiction to be arbitraged rather than inhabited. Both critiques, despite their opposed politics, converge on a single verdict: the nation does not matter, or at least does not matter as much as it once claimed to. The teacher of national history, civilizational memory, or even international relations in a post-colonial classroom has to work against this double erosion. And the difficulty is epistemological, emotional, and pedagogical all at once.>Food prices in the US have shot up by 33% over the last seven years, the biggest jump in grocery prices in half a century, per NYP

>>2893218the only real edible invasive species is deer and there's already a large industry of deer meat. but the problem is hunting is incompatible with mass production so capitalists will always opt for factory farming.
>>2893221You can eat razorback pigs, also deer are native to north America, theyโre just overpopulated
>>2893220climate change is real and a problem. carbon emissions, land usage, and water usage for food production is a related problem. ignoring veganism, what is really objectionable about meat from a purely scientific and human-centric standpoint isn't so much the death or even the cruelty, that's purely a moral concern, it is the fact that meat uses way more land and water per kilogram of food product yielded, per 100 grams of protein yielded, per 1000 calories yielded. The whole advantage of plant products are they require less energy to produce than meat. The lab grown meat also seems kind of redundant because I have heard vegans say that meat and dairy are on the long term more carcinogenic to the digestive system than a whole food plant based diet, ignoring alcohol and plant oils which are bad for you. If they really believe that, why eat lab grown meat? and doesn't lab grown meat also take more energy to make than plant based foods with the same or similar nutritional value? If you're going to farm meat at all I have heard that the most economically sensible meats are prawns, crawfish, and crickets. But people don't want to live in the pod and eat the bugs, even if it slows down climate change.
>>2893225>>2893226one thing I always hate about the way humans approach climate change is their unwillingness to treat the planet like a living breathing ecosystem. it's just so fucking annoying seeing retards spout on about how we need to terraform the entire globe into a vegetable farm to maximize human population numbers or minimize water usage or whatever the fuck. bro I'm not here to exterminate every other animal species to make room for humanity I just want to live in harmony with nature in my little chud cabin with my (preferably asian) tradwife. humans will never abandon eating meat just as animals will never abandon eating meat. the natural process of plants absorbing energy from the sun only to be consumed by herbivores who are then consumed by carnivores who then die and put their nutrients back into the ground to be absorbed by plants is like, as natural as the water cycle. humans are as much a part of it as any other animal and shouldn't seek to separate themselves from nature. play monster hunter bro.

>>2893232why are so many turbo reactoid retards shitting up this place? go back to 4cuck or whatever shithole you came from and stop pestering this place. acting like factory farming was some kind of eternal ecological cycle preordained by gaia or whatever isn't worthy any discussion you complete moron.
>>2893227>one thing I always hate about the way humans approach climate change is their unwillingness to treat the planet like a living breathing ecosystemyeah we should do that
>. bro I'm not here to exterminate every other animal species to make room for humanity would never suggest that's what we should do. i only mention our land usage because it's unsustainable. look at the fucking graphs. if you want to live in harmony with nature it starts with not expecting endless burgers and ice cream. and yes endless human population growth is not sustainable either. I never suggested the reason to decrease land usage and water usage would be to create more humans and kill all the other species. where are you getting that from.
>in my little chud cabin with my (preferably asian) tradwife. i never said you shouldn't do any of that and not really sure what that has to do with this conversation at all… are you even the manager clouseau guy I was responding to?
> humans will never abandon eating meat just as animals will never abandon eating meat.people do it all the time. as a species no i don't think we'll ever abandon eating meat but we should probably eat less or at least produce the kind of meat that uses less land water, electricity per calorie, per gram of protein, per unit weight of food yielded. Also we can synthesize multivitamins and mineral supplements now, so that helps.
>>2893234>acting like factory farming was some kind of eternal ecological cycle preordained by gaiaI never said that you fucking retard. Factory farming is fucking evil but that's a huge leap from hunter/gatherer societies or people who raise their own farm animals. This isn't even a remotely controversial issue on "The Left" anywhere but here because you're all fucking out of touch college kids. The average prole in most of the world would consider it a luxury to own chickens, and probably has a better understanding of the relationship between humans and nature than some fucking college kid whose idea of "touching grass" is playing golf in a country club. Fuck off trying to call me a reactoid. Guess what, China's massive growth in its middle class has resulted in China becoming the largest meat consumer in the world. They are happy to no longer need to eat the bugs and be able to enjoy luxuries like meat, and they won't give it up just because now the proles are able to enjoy the same luxuries that were previously reserved for the wealthy and suddenly the bourgeois are shitting themselves about "overconsumption" to force Chinese peasants to eat the bugs. You're free to go eat the bugs in their stead though, retard. Maybe Peter Thiel will give you a medal for your sacrifice.
>>2893234he's literally being retarded on purpose. I said plants use less water and land per calorie, per protein, per weight and even provided graphs for all 3 of those metrics, and he somehow made up that I was saying we should kill all other species and turn the whole planet into a vegetable farm, even though that is not what I said and anyway you need permaculture, pollinators like bees, non-edible species of plants, and animals pooping to keep the soil fertile anyway.
>>2893238> The average prole in most of the world would consider it a luxury to own chickenswhat
bro… what? my broke ass neighbor owns chickens. they're not that hard to get
>hunter/gatherer societies or people who raise their own farm animalsi am the original anon you were talking to and i never argued against that. like go back and read
>>2893225 and find a single instance of me saying "people shouldn't raise their own chickens" or whatever. all i pointed out was that meat uses weigh more land per kilogram of food, per gram of protein, per calorie yielded. Those are just basic facts. I made no prescriptive statement about everyone should become vegan or you don't get to be cottagecore with your asian wife or whatever. you just brought all that stuff in outta nowhere tbh
>>2893237>people do it all the time. as a species no i don't think we'll ever abandon eating meat but we should probably eat less or at least produce the kind of meat that uses less land water, electricity per calorie, per gram of protein, per unit weight of food yielded. Also we can synthesize multivitamins and mineral supplements now, so that helps.I really don't think food should be approached this way or at least not on a mass scale. Like yeah if a population has low access to food they should absolutely maximize their use of what food is available but, approaching ecology based on "what food consumes the least water" is just how you end up with the US cornbelt turning 1/4 of the country into flyover territory.
I mean, ultimately it's moot because I think both "sides" in this argument would agree that we should be listening to ecologists when it comes to protecting the environment, but we shouldn't be painting the entire planet with a broad brush. Protecting localized ecosystems is just as important for biodiversity as fighting climate change. There's pretty much no reason humans can't live in harmony with nature the way they did for hundreds of thousands of years. We didn't have issues with water availability or climate change during hunter gatherer times. Ironically, human pollution levels skyrocketed with the rise of agriculture and consequently the rise of large urban centers. I just think it makes sense to focus on "sustainability" rather than advocating any kind of "transition towards abandoning meat" both in terms of political optics and because it's a better solution that requires less work and doesn't necessitate inventing completely new technologies just to solve a problem of Capitalist overconsumption.
yeah idk man i shouldn't have tried to approach this issue sincerely on what basically amounts to reddit with an imageboard skin. I fucking hate third worldists but the global south's history books really won't be kind to Burgerstanis.

>>2893238can you give any actual material reasons for why eating dead animals is mandatory or is all you have idealist brain worms? the average prole being a retard and thus having to embrace bourgeoise excess to feel like there is 'progress' or whatever isn't that compelling when the result is the ecosphere becoming hostile to life itself.
>>2893268>an average chinese apartment can in fact fit basic furniture like a couch, a tv, a computer, a kitchen table, etc without needing a mcmansion.Yes of course but what I'm saying is that the Chinese factories need the McMansions because China is an export-driven economy that's part of an integrated global system.
>>2893269do you have any material reason to think humanity has to change the ecosystem rather than letting it revert back to what it was before capitalism destroyed it? like what's the point of your argument? is it that we can save resources through efficiency, or is it to save the planet? because those are two completely different things. the planet can be saved just by engaging in sustainable agriculture while not having to change most of our dietary habits. meat will get more expensive owing to how much it actually costs to produce, and maybe you'll only get to eat a burger once a week instead of 5 times a week, but that's totally different from abandoning meat entirely. Like are you approaching this argument from economics, or morality, or what? Because there are in fact animals(mostly birds and fish) that consume way less resources to produce and grow much faster than many plants. Should we abandon farming of things like almonds, avocados, walnuts, saffron, etc just because it's ecologically inefficient compared to keeping chickens? Actually for that matter, the logistical chain is a massive factor in the inefficiency of factory farming. People simply reverting back to keeping their own livestock at home and feeding them table scraps would make a huge difference in terms of "resource consumption". Same for people building community gardens instead of relying on food shipped from across the world.
Frankly I just think it's shortsighted and dumb to not be open to the arguments of the 95% of humans who consume meat just because you personally believe you've achieved enlightenment.

>>2893624black hammer didn't try to incorporate arbitrary bigotry from the national bourgeoisie of the imperial periphery in order to look more masculine. Gazi was a lunatic but he was also very flamboyant and feminine in a way that would have gotten him kicked out of the suit-and-tie-conservative ACP. Gazi also wore joker makeup. The Black Hammer was also more of a cult than a party. ACP is grifter influencer clowns but they also at least try to be seen a serious org. Maupin was proto-ACP.
>>2893648They sort of did? Black Hammer was weird though because they started sounding like a nazbol group towards the end, including pushing homophobia even though their leader is the gayest man to have led an ultra-left group ever. Just a lot of weird stuff of very pro-Russia/pro-China/pro-DPRK etc. while complaining that Taylor Swift was better when she did MAGA county before the music industry got wokefied by Obama. Part of this was probably just flat-out mental illness involved. Also they began retweeting Hinkle as well. Kind of just going in the same direction.
Before that they tried to negatively farm attention on the internet with Holocaust denial and then say you were racist and colonialist towards black people if you disagreed with that. Iirc at least one former member joined the ACP. This kind of thing probably appeals to the same kind of people, though Black Hammer didn't have many white members.
>>2893658well damn i guess I didn't know much about black hammer
>>2893661The politics are so idiosyncratic that it's hard to follow anyways. If you also take away the culture war politics but keep the aggressively hostile attitude towards everyone who opposes their line it's sort of reminsicient of some of that. Also the random anti-scientific views, like ACP people saying dinosaurs aren't real and the moon landing is fake.
>>2893652Nah you shouldnโt end up looking dumb cause who can really predict if Trump is retarded enough to do it? But if any war needed a draft to be even remotely possible to win, itโd be this one, and if any president would be retarded enough to do itโฆ yeah, also this one.

Try not to treat it like gambling even if it basically is. Like a "gambling" mindset is "I'm going to make a huge amount on this baby" on some long shot but it doesn't work out. There are some people who moved over from professional poker who can be really good but they have a completely different approach. BTW statistically most markets resolve to "no" so if you're buying "yes" you should have a lot of confidence that it'll actually go that way.
I bought in early on Mamdani. Peter Magyar to beat Orban. Also recently Troy Jackson taking over from Graham Platner, like right after Platner dropped it appeared that Jackson was consolidating the base in Maine so I sized up fairly big when he was in the 50c-60c range. Also made a bit predicting that Miguel Diaz-Canel would remain president of Cuba this year when the odds that he'd be out were fairly high. Then I sold that position to lower risk.
A lot of times these prediction markets overreact to headlines but you can fade the other side if it's a nothingburger.
You have to be disciplined at managing risk, not getting overconcentrated, and bailing on bad stuff to limit losses. Being good at taking profits. If you bought yes on a cheap contract that rose into the 90s, sell and take profit unless you're really confident it's going to resolve yes rather than waiting for an extra few cents/share on a favorable resolution because some freak event can happen and destroy you. Think of Francesca Hong in Wisconsin and how the markets had her at a near certainty to win. I largely stayed out of that one but it would have been a good play there to buy her earlier, then sell in the 90s rather than waiting until election night when the polls turned out to have been totally wrong.
>>2893891thanks dude this is good advice that i'll try to internalize. do you have any experience with the 5min crypto markets? they seem rigged as well but it seems like the most consistent way to make money without waiting for elections.
>If you bought yes on a cheap contract that rose into the 90s, sell and take profit unless you're really confident it's going to resolve yes rather than waiting for an extra few cents/share on a favorable resolution because some freak event can happen and destroy you. I largely stayed out of that one but it would have been a good play there to buy her earlier, then sell in the 90s rather than waiting until election night when the polls turned out to have been totally wrong.I was thinking about this and it makes a lot of sense to just dump a yes contract when it's close to resolution because as you say freak accidents can happen. But it seems like that's only profitable if you get in super early, ie people who are on polymarket all day and know exactly what position they want to take before it even goes up. I'll just observe for a few more days minimum before getting involved but thanks for the info.

>>2893894>do you have any experience with the 5min crypto markets? they seem rigged as well but it seems like the most consistent way to make money without waiting for elections.I stay away from crypto (also sports). Not that I'm saying you can't make money that way, but I'm just no good at it. Apparently those 5-min crypto markets were heavily manipulated by trading bots but they changed the resolution system recently.
>I was thinking about this and it makes a lot of sense to just dump a yes contract when it's close to resolution because as you say freak accidents can happenThey absolutely can. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan is a close example. When the first initial results came in, they were very good for him, so the price rose from its already high level to 99.9c, which means you could sell a "yes" share at 99.8c, or buy a share at 99.9c. But the amount of profit you can squeeze out of that if he wins is basically irrelevant, fractions of a cent. Then as I was looking at a map of the returns, there was just this huge outstanding total in Detroit where Stevens had a ton of votes, and I was like "oh no.. oh fuck" and sold everything at 99.8c and then the race tightened up dramatically, which caused El-Sayed's shares to crash as people tried to bail from their positions. It's a bit like jumping out of an exploding building. He did go on to win, but I had bought a bunch of shares on him two weeks prior because I thought he was going to win. But still, I just don't want the additional stress of white-knuckling an election night like a degenerate. I did do that with the Hungarian elections though.
People try to play swings on elections night too but that is really risky.
>But it seems like that's only profitable if you get in super early, ie people who are on polymarket all day and know exactly what position they want to take before it even goes up. Correcto. I tend to keep it in the background and monitor it and then go in and adjust things. And I try to be patient. I might go several days where my portfolio doesn't change at all because I'd rather wait for an opportunity rather than just gambling. I'm playing around with some crazy primaries in Florida that are happening this Tuesday. I bought, like, 50 shares of Catalina Lauf because she was a babe and then Trump endorsed her the next day and she shot up into the 80s. The Republicans are hilarious because they just go on vibes like that. (Also the Club for Growth.) They just go with the babe, go with the tough guy, etc. Also betting on that psychotic Ohio congressmen NOT to drop out for insane family abuse. Because he's a Republican. If he was a Democrat he'd be done but if Trump wasn't telling him to drop then it's not happening. They're like sheep, they follow the one with the biggest horns.

Also people getting married to their positions for ideological reasons is very funny. Especially when they're conservatives throwing good money after bad.
There's a ton of AI slop about "strategies" as well but I saved that one because it does have some good tips on it.
The culture around Polymarket is really goofy too. It's like these weird finance-tech guys from New York with Peter Thiel money. Did you see that ad they ran during the World Cup? It reminded me of this clip. "What if you can…" predict some future shit. But if you look around, the general accuracy of predictions of the future are usually very bad. Nobody really knows anything and there's always some degree of uncertainty involved. They are trying to sell this thing to Wall Street like it's some crystal ball, but if it actually was then there would be no way to make a profit at it. It's when the market is wrong or not totally certain that there is some profit to be made.
Look at the graph on this one:
https://polymarket.com/event/miguel-daz-canel-out-as-leader-of-cuba-by-june-30In June there was a 60% chance he'd be out this year, now it's down to 19%. So if "no" was trading at 40c in June, if you bought $100 worth of "no," then it would now be worth around $200. And it was appearing less likely that the U.S. would attack because Trump was bogged down with Iran, and if you know anything about consolidated Marxist-Leninist governments (which most Polymarket traders do not), then you know it's not going to just topple over that easily. But they've been having blackouts so if there's a sudden spike in pissed-off people protesting the government, that could conceivably cause the "yes" side to spike back up again, but that could also be an overreaction. It's kind of like chess.
>>2893894>I'll just observe for a few more days minimum before getting involved but thanks for the info. Also last thing because I feel a responsibility here, but if you do that, just experiment with a small amount at first. Nothing you'd be uncomfortable with losing. Like a dollar on a market and if see it returns a profit. And if you do well, then pace yourself because it's usually when people start winning that they get overconfident and take on too much risk.
>>2893912I've noticed this a lot, people tend to make bets on what basically amounts to astrology for nerds, and have a tendency to spike in one direction or the other based on headlines instead of fundamentals. Polymarket is pretty much identical to the stock market these days, or maybe it's the stock market that became like Polymarket, idunno. But fundamentally it'll always feel like gambling and you have to be careful to not get swept up in the mass psychology of the betting pool. Polymarket gremlins are almost all gambling addicts and it seems like the only way to make money is to not fall into the trap and only bet on things when you're actually confident and not just chasing headlines.
>>2893917>Like a dollar on a market and if see it returns a profit. And if you do well, then pace yourself because it's usually when people start winning that they get overconfident and take on too much risk. That's the plan, I pretty much expect to just put in $20 at most and see how far I can go with it. If I fail I'll wait a week or two before going back in, but getting overinvested in something just because you think it's a "sure win" is a trap I'd like to avoid.
>>2893918>Polymarket gremlins are almost all gambling addicts and it seems like the only way to make money is to not fall into the trap Yes. That's how they get you. The comments are full of lunatics, it's hilarious but I wouldn't follow them for tips at all, trust your own judgement instead. It can be fun to troll them sometimes. The fact that you're already talking about fundamentals is a good sign. Also there are a ton of people trying to pull scams, trying to get people to click on links that will drain their wallets. There's also a ton of third-party apps but with the partial exception of one I've found them all to be completely useless, and I don't trust the security of any of them and would never link my account to anything other than my email.
I have found some use asking AIs about the psychology of successful prediction market traders and the use of probabilistic skepticism or collective belief formation. I've also asked it all kinds of crazy questions over time about the history of Marxism and other weird stuff and ChatGPT also remembers that, so it has me profiled now.
Also you can set limit orders. Like buy something at $1, set a limit sell order at a higher price, then it fills, you now have $1.25. Or it might higher, you need a certain amount of shares to place a limit sell order, I can't remember. But that can be a way to just experiment.

You are a revisionist.
Many would-be revolutionaries work under the fallacious illusion that the vanguard party is to be a secret organization that the power structure knows nothing about, and the masses know nothing about, except for occasional letters that come to their homes by night. Underground parties cannot distribute leaflets announcing an underground meeting. These are contradictions and inconsistencies of the so-called revolutionaries. The so-called revolutionaries are in fact afraid of the very danger that they are advocating for the people. These so-called revolutionaries want the people to say what they themselves are afraid to say, and the people to do what they themselves are afraid to do. This makes the so-called revolutionary a coward and a hypocrite.

>>2893982>and the DPRK gives up on unifying the peninsulaThey already did. The recent congress already gave up on reunification and took out all references of reuniting with the South Korea. They even went as far as to refer to South Korea as a hostile foe, which is a rhetoric shift from blaming solely the US and puppeteering the government for Soutb Korea's behavior. Keep in mind that President Moon also tried to normalize relationships but it failed just like the previous attempt at the Sunshine Policy before President Moon. President Lee will likewise fail especially as the DPRK is not interested in negotiations with "the most hostile adversary" when the opposition will overturn everything anyway.
>>2893977South Korea is still useful in the same way that Israel is still useful to the US in the MENA region. South Korea is the only US aligned mainland East Asian state(Taiwan and Japan are the other two). So it still has interest in keeping it alive and 80 years of anti-commumist and anti-DPRK propaganda has enough to keep it in line for a good amount of time. >>2894507Then why is China constantly getting in the way of that? Could it be that theyโre actually one country called Chimerica?
>>2894429I think they're just miserable guys who live unexciting low-T lives and can't get boners anymore because they're getting old, which transmorgs into spite towards anyone they perceive as having exciting lives or getting boners.
They have to go back to World War II as a floating signifier of noble men who didn't complain about stuff (which was a propaganda construction for civilians). If they were actually Navy people they would probably make fun of the Lincoln crew because of some very internal-to-the-Navy reason, like sailors who served aboard nuclear submarines making fun of them because nuke sub people always think they have it the worst.
Also on this WWII stuff, carriers then did not spend as much time at sea as the Lincoln has. Like yeah it's not as grim as a WWII carrier on the inside, but it's nuclear powered so it can be at sea for a lot longer, and it has been out for 260 days continuously which is extreme by modern standards, and takes the case for worst carrier deployment for sailors in a long while though from what I can tell from some veterans posting out there.
Carriers in WWII could be out for weeks at time, and they used forward anchorages. It was an island hopping campaign.
Lincoln has had one port call this entire deployment. You get beyond a couple of weeks, fresh food disappears. Beyond 21 days the ship store gets pretty empty, and by 30-35 days cleaning chemicals start to run low. By the time the ship hits 60 days the crew is eating MREs and showering without soap. There's resupply at sea of course but the Lincoln is operating at the long end of a logistics chain.
>>2894424The comments underneath these articles are also the same, because it's just a bunch of people screaming that woke sailors must be responsibel because it's impossible this could happen. What probably happened in reality is that the fuel got contaminated and fucked their day up real bad (as that ship was unfortunate enough to rely on it rather than the superior atom).
>>2894383Y'know I heard a claim that Boomers culturally have this delusion that

>>2894429I'd argue that a lot of these people might've grown up with unresolved or unacknowledged trauma from authoritarian parenting styles and so they've got this extreme contempt for perceived "permissiveness". I had kind of a similar background but I try to be cognizant of it.
Something about authoritarian parenting styles is that there aren't really hard and fast rules in a lot of cases, you're subject to the fickle whims of the parent in question, what could be acceptable one day is unacceptable the next. You can't "reason" with the parent in question because you're reasoning with a bundle of neuroses, not logic. In fact, the very act of reasoning or negotiating with an authority figure becomes a slight in that parenting style because it means you're "disobeying" them. Now, you can grow up and ultimately reject this type of parenting and realize the harm it does, but I think a lot of these conservatives internalize it as a good thing; it's the "I got spanked and I turned out fine!" kind of argument.
So if "Daddy Trump" says you're going to spend a year at sea with overflowing toilets and rotten food, then you should be smiling and saying "thank you, sir!" And if you refuse to go along with it, you're being "disobedient" and the only solution is to physically punish you and remind you who's in charge.
I think that's a tidy answer to a lot of their neuroses. It's why they love the idea of a draft, too. They see younger generations as "disobedient" and think they should be beaten until they love the flag.
