>>2927866>>2927869That was pretty dumb of them to do.
>>2927872This is why I can't tell how retarded people are being in regards to AI. It is not at the point of being mass surveillance drone hell where all jobs are automated and the poor starve. In reality, AI is fucking useless, that's why it's losing so much money. It is so horribly flawed and to make it even somewhat better takes decades of research or electricity and processing at a scale that is unattainable. What is scarier is retards treating AI like it is some kind of super power intelligence and not just saying that for investors. Because it is so prone to error, you get someone like Trump that asks Grok if invading Iran is a good idea, or the military asking Grok if a tanker has Chinese missiles on it, or flock cameras misidentifying people and plates it reads and then cops almost kill a family on the road thinking the car belongs to a mass murderer or some shit (they'll do that for less but you get my point). It's something retarded with no accountability telling even bigger retards what to do.
>>2927879of course the retard senile president asking grok if he should invade iran is stupid. That's not an example of what AI is actually used for in a serious industry. Look, I work in a engineering field where we used to process footage manually, look at entities in that footage, and classify those entities according to predefined categories. That was a painstaking and manual process that took 12 hours to process 24 hours of footage at double speed with a specialized keyboard and a highly trained employee with experience. They fired all those people or put them in different departments (I was one of them). We now have trajectory analysis AI that can do 24 hours in 30 minutes. It is more accurate than the humans doing the job by hand were. We have been relegated to spot-checking and quality controlling data that used to be human output. And not just first world treatlers lost their job. A lot of indian vendors are losing their jobs. It's actually quite powerful when used for a hyper specific application in a consistent way with a competent programming team to feed it prompts that are specific.
but of course you jump to the terminally online example of "the syphilitic moron president asked grok if he should bomb iran" because your entire understanding of AI comes from twitter discourse.
>>2927889this. i also think AI isn't going to totally replace the worker but it can surveil the worker to a brutal degree that was never possible before. The way AI monitors Amazon truck drivers and dings them for every infraction and keeps them run ragged and in a worse bargaining position than ever will be standardized across many forms of employment.
>>2927901You can surveil all you want but capitalists are too cheap to actually hire people full time to act on whatever they see
>>2927889>That's not an example of what AI is actually used for in a serious industry.it literally is, it's being used to launder open computer fraud and abuse because "the computer did it", it's used to target children because "the computer did it", it's used to deny insurance claims because "the computer did it" and it certainly will be used to blame every deficient upper level decision in the war.
>A lot of indian vendors are losing their jobs
Also I hope the US is stupid enough to legislate government capture because those indian vendors will suddenly find themselves employed again when they get access to the cheap kimi models and bougies in the burgerreich find themselves having to pay 1000 per month per employee to anthropic forever

>>2927924do you think the Houthis have access to the massive enterprise grade GPU clusters needed for self hosting? it would obviously be easier and cheaper to just bypass the pathetic western restrictions, and I doubt the Chinese models would contain the data necessary to create ballistic missile software in either case

>And it's going to collapse or we make some huge AI breakthroughyou understand that's an even worse scenario, right? the cat's out of the bag and a collapse won't change conditions for the better, nor it will make LLMs vanish. in fact, it will make conditions worse since there's no other area promising returns, it will destroy the tech industry.

NYT: How a U.S. Diplomat Suppressed and Altered Reports Critical of Israel
>David Milstein, a senior adviser to US Ambassador Mike Huckabee in Jerusalem, has for over a year sought to restrict or reshape the US embassyโs reporting on Israeli government actions โ particularly in the West Bank โ in an effort to shield Jerusalem from criticism in Washington, The New York Times reports, citing 12 sources involved in or familiar with the matter.
>Since starting his post in April 2025, Milstein has allegedly blocked some reports from reaching Washington, substantially modified others, and held up drafts until the information lost its relevance, according to the report.
>Among the episodes described, Milstein reportedly intervened in embassy reporting on Israeli settlement activity and settler violence in the West Bank, including after Israel approved an unprecedented number of settlements in late March and during a surge in settler violence in the spring.
>In another case mentioned in the report โ which was previously reported by the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft โ US diplomats drafted a cable in summer 2025 warning about worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza following Israelโs aid blockade on the Strip, but Milstein instead transmitted a separate cable portraying the controversial US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in much more favorable terms.
<Milstein, US-born, previously served as a special assistant to David Friedman when he served as Trumpโs first-term ambassador to Israel, and before that worked as a legislative aide to Republican Senator Ted Cruz. He is the stepson of Fox News host Mark Levin, a prominent Trump ally and outspoken supporter of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.https://archive.ph/3uFAP >>2928412just a slow rolling release of more and more prominent people in the US and European governments just being traitors and spies for a foreign country, and the media and political mainstream just doesn't react to it at all. it really is amazing the grip they have on our society

>That role is further complicated by the fact that Miller and his wife have repeatedly asked the FBI's Washington Field Office to investigate political activists and others they allege have threatened or harassed them. In an unrelated case last year, Stephen Miller asked the bureau to allow agents to go undercover in his Virginia neighborhood's political activist group, several sources with knowledge of the matter told CBS News.
>"Politically well-connected people who are related to victims do not have a right to jawbone FBI supervisors to do what they want them to do, and if they are political and throwing around their political connections, it's even worse," said Jeffrey Breinholt, a longtime former counterterrorism prosecutor at the Justice Department who frequently provided training to FBI agents.
<In the days leading up to Miller's appearance as a guest speaker at the terrorism training session, the two most senior counterterrorism agents in the FBI's Washington Field Office were transferred to other roles by its leader, Darren Cox, after the Miller family complained the agents were not moving swiftly enough on an investigation into a man in Massachusetts who was allegedly sending taunting texts and voicemails, sources told CBS News. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/stephen-miller-fbi-training-domestic-terrorism-trump-white-house/ Yesterday was Pizza Day, despite pouring rain our DSA chapter was able to serve 64 meals in Polk County Florida Today. We serve dominos at the moment because of a large gift card donation someone made a few months ago, these are essentially free.
I think mutual aid is one of the most effective forms of praxis, and I think doing a community meal is one of the most effective forms of mutual aid for small groups.
1) It gives the people who participate a boost mentally, emotionally, dare I say spiritually. It's pure unalienated labor, you cook the food, you serve the food, you feel the energy of doing something. It is a huge morale booster to do this type of thing.
2) Everyone will appreciate this type of work. You're feeding the people, it gives you a serious bit of 'clout' for a lack of a better word. No one can argue against someone who does this, and it aligns with Christ's teachings which appeals to the christian culture of Americans.
3) It gives you a chance to organize around logistics. Who's providing the plates? The disposable casserole tins? Can people show up on time? Is there enough people to make it happen? It gives a lot of questions that when answered, become useful in other contexts.
4) It gives you outreach potential. Our chapter is going to be putting out donation boxes soon. That means talking to bartenders (and management), as well as cafes, and other 'third spaces' we want to place these. Every box has the word "Socialist" on it. Every relationship matters for later, for example: the bar you have a donation box might grow towards being the bar you host events at.
5) When held in a public space (we do ours in a downtown park) it becomes a potent example of how the capitalist system neglects so many. It is a deed that becomes propaganda, to borrow theory from the anarchists. I have had workers who work downtown message me telling me that they see us when they are at work. We have police watching us at every community meal. How can we be the richest country in the history of nation-states while so many go without?
6) It gives you a way to go to the people. While you'd think that it's just feeding the homeless, you'll quickly find everyone from retirees to children in your line. You'll start to know people, you'll hear about what people struggle with. Is someone who works at 7-Eleven but still needs the meal not the working class we seek to uplift? To bring class consciousness to?
7) A community meal is more than just a meal shared in the park. All of the logistics can be repurposed for other means. Imagine it's July 4th, and you've hosted a punk show to raise money for those imprisoned by ICE. You can literally just set up your food share at the show, every filled belly that didn't have to pay $30 in concessions is a potential recruit.
8) It feeds your people. No army in the world has existed without cooks, without kitchen duty. The food share isn't just a means to feed the people, it's the means to feed your group, chapter, org, etc. It's a chance to regroup and share a meal with your comrades, just as much as it is praxis. You'll grow fond of certain member's cooking, certain dishes, pizza day will become an event in it's own right.
9) It opens your org up to other branches in the skill tree. A single meal share in the park is the baseline, it's not a long jump to organizing groceries for families, clothing donations, or support for new parents (ie baby formula). It won't be long before a co-worker, a friend or a simply a fellow worker asks you something like "I know your with that group that does the meals in the park, we're really down bad and could use some groceries, can you help?"
10) It's simply the right thing to do. People go hungry, we have the means to feed them, we are socialists, organizers, and we have a duty to support our fellow workers.

Transhumanists are motivated by the same thymotic impulse he regrets being tamed by bourgeois complacency. As the tech investor Marc Andreessen directly stated in his "Tech Optimist Manifesto," after identifying himself as one who believes "in deliberately and systematically transforming ourselves into the kind of people who can advance technology," his "enemy is Friedrich Nietzsche's Last Man."
>Fukuyama's chief concern about transhumanism is that biotechnological progress could "take away the limitations of human nature." He fears that using biotechnology to enhance human capacities will have fatal consequences for the idea of equal rights, and thus would restart history. I think he is underestimating liberal democracy's ability to maintain social and political peace. As I have written before, "Political and moral equality have never rested on the facts of human biologyโฆ.In liberal societies the law is meant to apply equally to all, no matter how rich or poor, powerful or powerless, brilliant or stupid, enhanced or unenhanced."
>Fukuyama's third enduring challenge to liberal democracy is humanity's thymotic drive to struggle, to seek recognition through sacrifice for ostensibly just causes. This impulse today fuels Islamism, Russian revanchism, and the various left- and right-wing authoritarianisms that afflict many developed countries. And, honestly, also transhumanism.>>2928675real transhumanism I'm assuming, yes?

โGo After Anybodyโ: ICE Gets Terrifying Marching Orders in California
>ICE has launched a new crackdown just weeks before the midterms.
<Immigration and Customs Enforcement has quietly launched a 45-day immigration crackdown in California ahead of the midterm elections, instructing its officers to โgo after anybody.โ
<The so-called โOperation Safe Californiaโ has not been formally announced yet, but two sources told the Washington Examiner Wednesday that operations have been underway for several days.
<One source told the outlet that officers were โtold to go after anybody, they can pick up anybody.โ
<The Examiner suggested that means that federal agents will target any undocumented immigrants, not just people with criminal records. There is no evidence to suggest that ICE has ever been so discerning.
<News of this secret operation comes as early voting began this week in California, which has been a consistent target for punishment by the Trump administration. Voting rights groups cited an ICE detention that took place in Santa Maria, California, on Monday in the same area that voters had to pass through to reach a ballot drop box.
<This latest surge of ICE activity comes more than a year after federal agents descended on Los Angeles in June 2025, which led to widespread protests and violent encounters with law enforcement. Of the hundreds of people detained as part of those raids, seven in 10 people had no criminal convictions.
<A second source told the Examiner that โmanagement want numbers.โ Last year, White House deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller instructed ICE to arrest 3,000 immigrants a day, a demand that has overwhelmed the agency and resulted in inhumane and degrading detention practices. Now it seems, the Trump administration plans to turn up the temperature.

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/117412435306815143>I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel. Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST! Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority. This is a very big and important announcement. i have posted about this in another thread about how we shouldnt support putin, but support his war because it is anti west and because he was not the aggressor. they alienated putin only because putin wanted his own world order, not to join their and become their lackey. the west feared that russia would have a lot of power remnant from the old soviet union, and the moment he wasnt aligned, they tried blowing him to hell. so in his conflict against the west? he's justified.
but just because he wanted a different world order, doesnt mean he wants our world order. he is very anti third world, and an imperialist, and he traffics african men into fighting in his failing army. he wants to do imperialism, just like the west wants to do it, but he wants to do it in a different way, with different social values for his citizens, and he wants his nation to be the greatest beneficiary from imperialism, unlike europe who is ok with getting americas leftovers and seconds.
the west vs putin is like a big fat dystopian ass megacorporation with private standing army vs a normally modern day medium size corporation. we should only support the latter (in both cases) because we want the behemoth group to be slain, but that doesnt mean that they are innocent or anywhere near our ideals
>>2929511That's their political class being facetious. But since 2014 Russians, institutions and individuals, public and private, have initiated a plethora of legal actions across all international institutions to lift the sanctions. And I have never seen the counterparts arguing that
because X Russian politician said this to either dismiss the lawsuits or (rarely) lift the sanctions.
And of course, that only applied between 2022 to 2023. After that Russia had a budget deficit, not dangerous, but deficit nevertheless.

>>2929555>Having become indispensable to Russiaโs military resilience during the Ukraine conflict, Chinese technology is poised to do the same for Iran.
<Advanced semiconductors have enabled processing power comparable to 7-nanometer (nm) nodes in systems such as the Iskander ballistic missile and ZALA Lancet loitering munitions, achieving strike accuracies of over 85 percent in recent engagements. By contrast, Russiaโs domestic semiconductor fabrication plants are limited to 65 nm processes. Hybrid Chinese lithography equipment, smuggled through parallel imports, has played a key role in boosting Russiaโs defense equipment production and performance.
<The output of electronic warfare equipment has increased 20-fold since 2023, powering mobile Podlet-K1 platforms with Chinese digital signal processors. These platforms disrupt NATO surveillance across wide areas. Previously, annual exhibitions such as Russiaโs International Military-Technical Forum served as public showcases of military technology, but the forum was canceled in 2025. The event has since been transformed into a private, closed-door gathering where Chinese companies showcased electronically scanned array radar components now integrated into Su-57 stealth fighters. This collaboration has resulted in contracts worth $12 billion.who says leverage can only be obtained through strict military exports? its Chinese dual-use export items like chips that are totally sustaining the russian military industrial sector, without Chinese imports the russians would've ran out of steam this undoubtedly gives China a say in how the war is conducted, especially when they start enforcing rare earth export controls (like america has) that gives them power to withhold use of any military exported product with chinese rare earth tech

excellent NYC mayor. He's a man owned and tasked by the Dems with doing
the exact opposite of what he promised during campaign.
In this way, Mamdani really is the punishment, built into the sin of entryism. They saw in front of them, a "progressive" candidate in name only who was doing the opposite of the "progressive" cause he championed, a fraud. But crucially, much like Graham Platner, had all the hallmarks of being an establishment plant and quickly was confirmed as such with broad party support. Oh JOY! oh fucking chance what luck we have, they must have thought.
Because the deal was clear, the "progressive" treatlerites would legitimize the wrecking of the Anti Zionist movement and in exchange, the establishment would permit them a better De Blasio to spare some concessions. But Mamdani doesn't need them anymore, he's a made man now. Zohran "The Rebbe had some good points actually" Mamdani has the support which matters, that of the bourgeoisie and the security establishment.
It is only a shame, that Graham Platner was withdrawn, "progressives" deserve a MIC sockpuppet which sends their kids to war and still doesn't give them welfare.

To me, I think it's more relatable, I grew up going to public schools where the only whites there were the white trash tokens who couldn't afford private school. But then they have to go and be more racist than the average white person, it's crazy. And on top of that, it's these people that didn't really grow up around a lot of the undesirable coloreds that are the most racist. Never been antagonized for being white probably, whereas the poor whites who grew up in the ghetto are usually cooler.

Like his approval is really strong nationwide and he still retains a 47% or so approval rating (compared to 41% disapproval) in NYC. I genuinely don't think the majority of people who disapprove of him are "disappointed leftists", like his disapproval remains strongest in Staten Island which is fairly wealthy.
To be frank I think one of the biggest issues the DSA is facing for the field its competing in (electoral politics) is Machiavellianism. Like I think his "antisemitism taskforce" is a blunder because, as others have pointed out,
they will always call him an antisemite. I think figures like Zohran and Corbyn don't want to be "the bad guy" or whatever and so antisemitism accusations sting them in some emotional sense. They've got to man up though and realize they wont win trying to appease people throwing those terms around.
I'm kind of seeing a similar issue with Lula. Y'know he did a hell of a lot better than the Dems in terms of actually arresting Bolsonaro, but the fact Bolsonaro's kid is running and isn't in a jail cell with him has cost in the first round of elections and possibly the presidency.
The Left really needs someone who is willing to practice ruthlessness wherever possible if it wants long term success, but the problem is those types of people "scare" a lot of people on the left. I think part of the reason Anarchism is so popular out here is in part because the idea of having to secure a revolution with firing squads and labor camps makes people question their cause.

The idea of both-sidists, middle-of-the-roadsists, perspectives and debates are useless. You know there is this popular comic that the world's richest man keeps posting about how he is just a perfect centrist, and the left kept going farther and farther left. But the Republicans and Cons and whatever truly have nothing nowadays. They're straight muthafuckin gawbage. I mean like, shit, I'd even be nostalgic for Reagan, or even Pappa Doc Bush. >>2930124Hey Houdini, just wanted to say great work with the mutual aid.

When certain metros reach the peak of expanding outwards, the metro areas that still have room to expand outwards become more attractive like Texas. There is still so much fucking land available in Texas and they are expanding outwards and outwards. I've been a part of working on it. Mark my words, Austin and San Antonio will someday be like LA County/Orange County/San Bernadino county, just one contiguous sprawl. Hell maybe Dallas/Fortworth/Waco/Austin/Houston will be come one contiguous super sprawl. There are no geographical features stopping it. Just more and more undeveloped land in between all those metro areas. In Japan, everything that isn't a mountain is basically part of a contiguous super sprawl.

>>2930280>it's cheaper>planes>than>TRAINsnonsensical. trains are by far cheaper than planes. even in Russia. always. it's only the time factor that makes planes attractive. and because time was factored in, the industry pushed for more plane production, which reduced the cost. but if I take $100 million in investment split 50/50 between the train and plane industries, I get a cheaper production return from the train industry than I would from the plane industry. And China is closing that gap with high-speed rail, which is close to a plane price within the same distance. And in China people chose trains over planes so often, even airlines have been dropping the prices to stay relevant.
>>2930293Why is it so hard to understand that higher density metro areas are the ones that are going to benefit most from public transit? Even then, the public transit can't magically just go faster. It really only works if you are traveling shorter distances.

>In the dense urban hub of Tokyo, the average one-way commute distance is 16.94 kilometers, which converts to roughly 10.53 miles>Tokyo average one way commute: 42.39 min
>The National Time Standard: Nationally, the Statistics Bureau of Japan reports an average one-way commute time of 39.5 minutes>Regional Variances: In rural cities with populations under 300,000, the round-trip average drops to 1 hour and 9 minutes (approx. 34.5 minutes each way) where cars are much more common. You can play your music loud on speakers.Really I think most of the public transit shills, at the end of the day just hate driving for whatever reason, so it really comes down to personal preference. I think most Americans would prefer to drive, and very few metro areas would it even be possible to make public transit even somewhat comparable to driving. I used to ride the public transit every day, and it wasn't even a bad route, but I'd rather drive 100%. Shit maybe if they actually made the trains and busses comfortable to sleep on and you could set some kind of app to wake you up when you get close to your stop it might have some advantage.
>>2930293I feel like this whole conversation is getting confused between local public transit and long distance rail.
>>2930241>great public infrastructure and public transport? Japanese rail is mostly privatized.
>If you look strictly at the 7 core operating companies that split from the state-owned national monopoly:>57% Private (4 out of 7): JR East, JR Central, JR West, and JR Kyushu are 100% fully privatized and publicly traded on the stock exchange>43% Public (3 out of 7): JR Hokkaido, JR Shikoku, and JR Freight remain 100% state-owned. Their shares are entirely held by a government public agency called the Japan Railway Construction, Transport, and Technology Agency (JRTT).<~70% JR Group Infrastructure: Around 70% of the physical rail network in Japan belongs to the JR Group. Since that network is split between the private and public JR companies mentioned above, the bulk of Japan's major intercity tracks and Shinkansen (bullet train) infrastructure is privately managed<~30% Independent Private & Municipal Operators: The remaining 30% of the rail network is operated by dozens of completely independent private companies (like Tokyo Metro, Kintetsu, and Hankyu) and local municipal governmentsSo that's like 70% privatized.
Dealing with gravity is expensive
Capitalism has twisted human evaluation of material costs
>>2930303>I feel like this whole conversation is getting confused between local public transit and long distance rail. there are two different individuals i was replying to in that same post. two different replies could have two different ideas.
One: backing up one anon's ideas.
Two: Calling out dumb the idea that planes are cheaper than planes, and explain differences in some countries.
See? two different ideas, none of them confusing local public transit and long distance rail.
>>2930329There is a current rightoid shill campaign about the 3rd world and I still don't understand what exactly the argument is either.
>>2930241japan and south korea being hyper capitalist is a myth. they have an outsized portion of state control on the economy compared to america
>>2930352>public sector employment statisticsirrelevant. i was talking about the amount of state control in shit like banking, not employment. can you people even read?
>After the surrender of Japan the Allied occupation forces partially attempted to dissolve the zaibatsu which had worked closely with the militarists during the first half of the 20th century and during the war. However, the United States government later rescinded those orders in an effort to reindustrialize Japan as a bulwark against communism in Asia, so the zaibatsu were never completely dissolved. >>2930289I've obviously never been to a trump a rally so I'm talking completely out my ass but people don't attend these things to do "politics". They aren't thinking about it that way at all. It's a social activity/performance. They are tailgaiting these things and swapping trump merch and basically throwing a party. I am sure some of these people ARE deeply devoted, but a lot of them cheer and laugh at the proper moment because the crowd does. So it's not surprising that you have all these clips of Trump saying insane stuff from a political point of view but the crowd not seeing it that way.
The same republicans who say if your house floods just sell it and move!
>>2930224should be noted that the cost of producing that surplus of food is factored into the price you pay. so if we're throwing away half the donuts, you are effectively paying for two donuts when you buy one. the purpose of the throw-away donut is not to be eaten but to create the appearance of abundance because market research shows people are more willing to buy the fuller your stock appears to be. since it's always in your interest to buy food, one has to assume this is due to some kind of altruistic tendency where you don't want to take away someone else's opportunity to get the food. so the overproduction is not just wasteful and built on denying food to the poorest people, it's also trying to circumvent people's subconscious desire to make sure everyone gets fed.

>>2930301>I think most Americans would prefer to drive, and very few metro areas would it even be possible to make public transit even somewhat comparable to drivingBecause we developed our entire infrastructure around cars and individualism. So the idea of public transport is repulsed because it brings crime and forces you to be around people. Because you dont invest in your people let alone your public infrastructure it breaks down and becomes intolerable like the public transportation you were using. Public transportation should have investment so people have options to use it and help with congestion
