https://www.npr.org/2026/10/13/nx-s1-6000051/ukraine-zelenskyy-npr-interview-russia-war
The Trump administration warns Ukraine it could cut off intel, Zelenskyy tells NPR

<The Trump administration warned it could cut off intelligence-sharing with Ukraine unless Ukrainian forces stop long-range drone strikes on oil refineries inside Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told NPR.

<In an interview with NPR on Tuesday, Zelenskyy said the Trump administration's decision to lift sanctions on Russian diesel will not bring down fuel prices. He also refuted President Trump's assertion this weekend that Ukraine was to blame for the rise in diesel fuel prices. Zelenskyy pointed out it is because of the Iran war.

<On Friday, Trump moved to ease sanctions on Russian diesel exports. Zelenskyy said in a statement it was a "a weak decision by strong partners."

<Trump lashed back hard at Zelenskyy, saying, "I think it's time for Ukraine to get a new president," a leader who can reach a peace deal with Putin.

<Then on Sunday, Trump announced on social media Russia and Ukraine had allegedly agreed to a partial ceasefire to halt attacks on each other's energy infrastructure — catching Kyiv by surprise — even as Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure continued.

<Zelenskyy told NPR he found out about Trump's assertion of an energy ceasefire agreement "through social like you" — meaning, from Trump's post on his Truth Social account.

Damn, they couldn't even paraphrase him lol. Are they purposefully trying to play up his comically broken English?

Trump's envoys reportedly postpone trip to Putin over Ukraine relations crisis - NYT

>US President's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are unlikely to travel to Moscow in the near future. The planned visit has been postponed, according to The New York Times.

>As the NYT reports, the disagreements between Ukraine and the US against the backdrop of the diesel deal between President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have escalated into the biggest crisis since the Oval Office scandal last year.

>An unnamed US official told the publication that Trump is so angry with Ukraine that it is difficult to say what actions he might take.

>Sources at the NYT also report that Witkoff and Kushner have postponed their planned trip to Russia until Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mends relations with Trump.

>>2931870
Yeah it does seem odd that if they were getting cut off, then why in such an oddly specific half-measure?

I’m getting the feeling that indeed Ukraine hasn’t actually been cut off at all and they’re just making up problems that don’t actually exist to influence upcoming US elections. The US needs the sacrifice of Ukraine to continue grinding the Russian military like an addict needs crack, I can’t imagine Trump would be allowed to actually cut Ukraine off just because Zelensky is a gobshite.

Like the claims that they’re now blind without US intel on Russian launches and that’s why the air raid sirens haven’t gone off, but here’s my hot take on that: it’s happening every night anyway, it’s a safe assumption the last couple of nights would involve launches. Likewise the problem until two days ago wasn’t that Ukraine can’t tell there’s a swarm of Russian drones and missiles coming at them from all directions, it’s that they didn’t have enough interceptors for them but now all of a sudden knowing that yes tonight continues the unbroken chain of nightly attacks makes or breaks the defence of Kiev?

Nah it’s all bollocks, they’ll develop the narrative that thousands died in their sleep and it’s Trump’s intentional doing so get out there and vote Democrat, an outrageous act of electoral sabotage given recent celebrations of denying Russia exactly that ability and almost certainly an irrelevant act because, come on, what would Kamala given them that the Trumpster hasn’t?

Apparently now Ukrainian interceptor drones don’t work without Starlink, which… why? They’re supposed to be a cheaper alternative to MANPADs, how the fuck do you make it entirely dependent on satellite communications?

File: 1791971526609-0.png (2.84 MB, 1200x1600, ClipboardImage.png)

>>2931893
>They’re supposed to be a cheaper alternative to MANPADs, how the fuck do you make it entirely dependent on satellite communications?
Well it makes it cheaper if all the expensive sensing equipment isn't on the suicide drone.

>>2931896
Starlink is just communications isn’t it? I don’t think it can track a Geran from space and control an interceptor all the way to it, much less do that for hundreds of drones at a time.

The cost cutting with interceptor drones is simply down to drones not being as fast, manuverable or well equipped with countermeasures as military jets are. They don’t need rockets, or expensive electrics, or fast and accurate actuators, etc. I mean fuck for the lawnmower powered ones you could probably track them on sound alone.

The Starlink allows data to be transferred from sensors on the ground or whatever data.
>>2931897
>The cost cutting with interceptor drones is simply down to drones not being as fast, manuverable or well equipped with countermeasures as military jets are. Geran-4s aren’t as fast as military jets, they have essentially RC plane jet engines lmao

>The Starlink allows data to be transferred from sensors on the ground or whatever data.

Okay but then the sensor is on the ground and static, meaning it can’t chase the drone on the interceptors behalf. But even so, why would the data need to go all the way up to space, passing both the target and the interceptor, just to come back down to the interceptor? Why wouldn’t it just communicate directly to the interceptor? And frankly, given the rather basic parameters for intercepting a suicide drone, a disposable satellite receiver is probably more expensive than whatever on-board sensors you’d use.

<WILL NABU AND SAP STRIKE AT MALYUK?

>On October 13, 2026, Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) exempted Artem Shylo—a former advisor to the Office of the President—from punishment after approving a plea agreement with him. He admitted guilt in a case involving the embezzlement of Ukrzaliznytsia funds and the laundering of proceeds from crime. Instead of an actual eight-year prison term, he received a three-year probationary period but assumed significant obligations: to compensate for UAH 60 million in damages, transfer UAH 80 million to the "Come Back Alive" foundation, and, most importantly, provide incriminating testimony against other individuals.

>This decision could prove highly sensitive for both many SBU officials and Zelensky himself. Shylo worked at the SBU for many years; from 2022 to 2024, he headed the Main Directorate for Counter-Intelligence Protection of Critical Infrastructure and Countering the Financing of Terrorism—known as the "I" Directorate. Prior to that, he served as an external advisor to the Office of the President.

>Ukrainian channels immediately speculated that Shylo might have provided testimony implicating former SBU chief Vasily Malyuk. (3rd, 4th pics)

>Surprisingly, Zelensky immediately summoned Malyuk and held talks with him. (recently, 5th picture)

>he official line is that the discussions focused on boosting Kiev's energy resilience. However, it is highly likely that more sensitive topics—specifically corruption—were also on the agenda. In particular, the discussion likely covered what to expect from the NABU and the SAP, as well as how to respond should a genuine threat arise.

>Prozorov argued that the NABU and the SAP—along with proponents of holding elections in Ukraine—would strike at Zelensky and the SBU. Zelensky’s political opponents now sense his vulnerability, given the willingness of Western nations to remove him from the presidency. A "war of compromising material" could erupt at any moment, and Zelensky is at a disadvantage in this scenario.

I looked into it, this interceptor drone apparently can use Starlink for long range manual control, but then it also mentions having every sensor, communications and navigational system under the sun and built supposedly by one of the thousands of drone start ups created during this war, so whether that’s actually the spec sheet or the brochure who knows? Also made me lmao how dedicated they are to refusing to call a Geran a Geran.

actually the plan to attack Iran dates back to the early 2000s in the Bush administration when Gen. Wesley Clark blew the whistle on what was coming. the plan only moved to its final staes under the obama administration, tho, since the US wasn't sure about how many nuclear sites Iran had and pushed for a deal so that they could send in UN inspectors in to verify all their locations before striking, setting everything up perfectly for Trump to scrap the deal and give the final go ahead. we're looking at the final culmination of over 20 years of planning and scheming. very bleak.

>>2932002
and to prove my point: watch the dems continue the war after the midterms if they take both the house and senate. this is totally bipartisan the american elites have been planning this for years. it's all theatre they are about to successfully complete it. they will break Iran like Syria. 10 years of sanctions causing hyperinflation and continual military strikes until finally the opposition is strong enough and the people desperate enough to change things and then Iran will fall like Assad did.

Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, all their bases in the Middle East, their air defense capabilities, their ability to threaten or pressure major adversaries like Russia or China either militarily or economically, their ability to do likewise with even lesser adversaries like Iran. In short, they're losing the global dominance they used to enjoy.
>>2932185
>if i only look at isolated successes and ignore everything else things look great!
The empire has shown itself able to still impose itself in the backyard. Sure they (eventually) succeeded in imposing an Al-Qaeda regime in Syria, but they're losing the whole region and can't do anything about it other than consider nukes because they've depleted conventional capabilities. Syria will be lost to them again sooner or later.
And they haven't successfully stalemated Russia in Ukraine. They're losing Ukraine and have depleted NATO weapons stocks and their proxy army. Ukraine is trying to cling to the last two strongholds of Donbas while running out of men, having no air-defense left (because NATO has none left to give them), watching all their infrastructure being obliterated and hoping that "long range strikes" will somehow save them even though Russia has vastly greater capability in that sphere. A simple tip for the future: the side constantly begging for a ceasefire is losing, not successfully stalemating their adversary.

US considers easing sanctions on shadow fleet vessels to cut freight rates, official says

>WASHINGTON, Oct 14 (Reuters) - The Trump administration is considering easing sanctions on so-called shadow fleet vessels that have transported oil and petroleum products from countries including Russia, Iran and ‌Venezuela, in an effort to reduce record-high global freight rates, a US official said on Wednesday.

>Both Zelenskiy and the US senators called that move a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin that would provide Russia with revenue to keep funding its war in Ukraine.

Exclusive: Ukraine runs out of Patriot defense missiles, leaving it more vulnerable to Russian attacks, source tells CNN

>Zelensky told CNN in August that his days are spent on “millions” of phone calls with allies, working to make deals for more Patriots. At the time, he said Ukraine only had a tenth of the interceptor missiles it urgently needed.

<Zelensky told the Financial Times in a fiery published interview that he could only agree to halt energy strikes on Russia if he was given more Patriot interceptors at a “minimum.” He added that “when he asked for more air defenses the American response was to weaken Starlink’s service.”

Ziggers are going to fall for this AGAIN like they have before. Ziggers don't learn shit. You can't teach them ziggers nothing. It's just because the Republicans are crashing out and Trump has alienated the Tucker/MTG/Massie part of his constituency over Iran which also now means their Super Duties cost $300 to fill up. So Trump is trying to do this thing like:

>Zelensky stop blowing up oil refineries

<*growly Zelensky voice* ERmmhmm no

So he can say Zelensky did it and not him, plz voot. Although in fairness Ukraine blowing up those refineries probably does have some upward pressure on world oil prices. I've been told however that the attacks are ineffective and Russia repairs them quickly and the drones are filled with stuff that just make them look like they explode but don't do any damage.

I don’t think it’s debatable that someone trusts Trump. There’s no point of contention, no argument can be made to assert that anyone actually trusts him.
You can invent stuff inside your head, media won't back you. It's the philosophy already reflected in
>I have already spoken to three US Presidents. They come and go, but politics stay the same at all times. Do you know why? Because of the powerful bureaucracy. When a person is elected, they may have some ideas. Then people with briefcases arrive, well dressed, wearing dark suits, just like mine, except for the red tie, since they wear black or dark blue ones. These people start explaining how things are done. And instantly, everything changes. This is what happens with every administration.
Of course, obsessed chuds like Blinken play a tighter role. It’s not the same when the state behind the politicians has some ideological differences as when it involves completely aligned politicians and state frameworks.
But no one is convinced that trump changes something or anything, until a revolution.

>The Ukrainian government will prohibit enterprises from granting draft exemptions to 100% of their employees, Prime Minister Koretskyi announced in the Verkhovna Rada.

>"Unfortunately, there are many abuses. And additional exemptions continue to be granted every month", Koretskyi said.

>For instance, a contractor for Ukrenergo secured exemptions for 100 individuals, even though only 20 people actually work there.

>Zelensky has expressed concerns that the move toward normalizing relations between Russia and the U.S. will not end well:

>"Next, there will be gas agreements—I am absolutely certain of that. Then, they will start lifting sanctions on other things: the banking system, specific individuals, the chemical industry, and frozen assets."

Lmao.

Thanks Iran!

>The U.S. President stated that Zelensky is not prepared to compromise, despite claiming otherwise.

>"Zelensky is not the person we should be dealing with. They won’t reach an agreement with Zelensky. He doesn’t want to compromise. He says he wants to reach a deal, but that’s not the case. I’m no fan of Zelensky. He has destroyed Ukraine."

Let's see where does this all bark no bite leads to. But oh boy.

>Polish Foreign Minister Sikorsk complained:
>"The U.S. has not allocated a single cent for Ukraine’s defense since January of last year—ever since the previous funding package ran out. At the moment, it is Europe that is paying for this war. We are buying American weapons out of our own pockets to hand them over to Ukraine. We are sustaining the Ukrainian state, its defense industry, and its social sector."
Yeah, but they keep selling you the weapons you then send to ukraine.
Also, he's lying:
>Congress passed the Fiscal Year-2026 NDAA in December 2025 with $400 million for ukraine under USAI, and did it against the administration, which had requested no ukraine funding at all. The senate wanted $500m, the house $300m, the compromise was $400m. FY2027 is also $400m.

>That money is moving: per a Pentagon letter to lawmakers in May 2026, it breaks down as $200m for weapons and ammunition, $99.9m for vehicles and spare parts, $100m for logistics and transport. By late September 2026, $307m of the $400m had been committed, with first shipments beginning in September 2026.

As per some readings from aggregators.

Also, the US in the G7 agreed to move huge loans for ukraine. In 2024 for the ERA loans, allocating 20billion for various years. The US hasn't stopped these reimbursements. Plus, As of the Bank's 31 May 2026 update: over $90 billion mobilized, $72.8 billion disbursed, with PEACE alone committed at $53.5 billion. For scale, the next largest PEACE MDTF (Multi-Donor Trust Funds) donors are Japan at $470m, Germany $52m, Spain $50m. The US figure is fifty times Japan’s. Most of it is pre-2025 money, but it is disbursing through the war. With a 25.5Bn alone this year coming out of the US.
Sikorsky wants to use not a cent (appropriation dates) as a general no money from the US.
And the IMF?
ukraine is in a 48-month Extended Fund Facility, the Board completed the First Review on 20 July 2026, releasing SDR 503m (~$690m), with ~SDR 1.6bn (~$2.2bn) cumulative. And it's the US the financial muscle behind all of this.
The IMF also created its “exceptionally high uncertainty” (EHU) framework specifically to permit lending to a country at war, which would otherwise fail its debt-sustainability tests. That required G7 and US backing. The Group of Creditors has extended ukraine's debt standstill pending resolution of EHU. This categorization hasn't ended with trump.

The only thing that is true: is Europe is now bearing the marginal cost. But 'not allocated a single cent', the $20bn FORTIS transfer and the $25.5bn PEACE position this 2026, say otherwise.

>In September, the Ukrainian metallurgical industry failed to produce a single ton of steel due to Russian strikes, according to Aleksandr Kalenkov, president of the Ukrmetallurgprom association.

>Air raids resulted in the destruction of blast furnaces at metallurgical plants.

>"What is happening now is not just a difficult or critical situation; it is a tragic one—an industry with a history spanning over 150 years produced zero steel last month," he stated.

This obviously, puts more pressure to the eu.

What do you call a piece of land surrounded by water on all four sides?
An Island CRIMEA, you stupid fake news!
>Crimea is surrounded by the ocean on four sides. This geographical "discovery" was made by U.S. President Donald Trump.

>"In reality, it all started with Barack Hussein Obama, when they forced Ukraine to give up Crimea. Crimea is, by a wide margin, the most valuable part of Ukraine. It has the ocean on all four sides," Trump stated.

Also, gotta love the obsession with Obama. obomba had to fuck trump (or melania) in front of trump's wife (or melania in front of trump) ffs. Sadly for trump, obomba prefers to see white men fucking michelle in front of him.

>"Odessa residents—well, how are things going for you?"

>Former Odessa mayor Trukhanov asked his fellow townsmen how they are faring under the military administration.

>A year ago, he was removed from office and stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship after the SBU discovered he held a Russian passport.

That question hits hard, not only in odessa, iykyk.

>All three of Kiev’s combined heat and power (CHP) plants have ceased electricity generation following strikes against them.

>It is reported that the city has been forced to switch to power supplies from neighboring regions via an energy ring network.

>Furthermore, due to damage to critical infrastructure, there remains a risk that the Ukrainian capital could face power outages lasting up to 20 hours a day throughout the winter.

Once again air raid sirens going off all across the Baltics during this attack.

I do wonder why plausible deniability is constantly pursued in a very obvious proxy war, the drones fly thought Balt airspace repeatedly but air raid sirens are to suggest this isn’t consensual on their part, the US provides all the navigation data required to avoid Russian AA coverage to reach oil refineries and then stages Trump demanding Zelensky to halt energy attacks, etc. It can’t be that they genuinely believe Russian military intelligence is fooled by this, as Cucktin posters point out it’s unlikely that Russia is going to directly and proportionately retaliate anyway and ultimately various politicians and military figures just let the cat out of the bag and call it a proxy war anyway.

>Is the old way of modern warfare all irrelevant now?
The fundamentals of war mostly stay the same but the form changes based on revolutionary leaps in technology. A fundamental thing is like how the defense is stronger than the offense (unless it's at sea then it's the other way around). That doesn't change if it's robotic.

>machine guns, artillery, tanks, helicopters

You'll still have tanks but they'll be increasingly robotic. Tanks themselves replaced the function of horseback cavalry but the fundamental logic of the mission was similar. You still have infantry but the lethality of modern weapons is causing greater dispersion. This has actually been going on for several hundred years. A machine gun is a form of automation (of the firing mechanism) that was produced by industrialization.

Think we're in a transition phase where new technologies are now starting to come together to enable another revolutionary transformation of warfare. If you think about the introduction of the machine gun, that stopped large-scale maneuver. Tanks and airplanes were introduced in World War I, but they were primitive. In World War II, tanks and airplanes improved and could work together to break the stalemate created by the introduction of machine guns (also anti-personnel land mines, and faster-firing long-range artillery). What was also important to make that happen was the introduction of radio so tanks could communicate with each other in large formations. So we have drones now but it'll be the technology that allows them to operate en masse. Some kind of A.I. system, so instead of a couple of robotic vehicles with weapons on them attacking, you have hundreds of robotic vehicles breaking through the front.

When this happened it was really horrifying. Not just the scale but the pitiless mechanical nature of the "machine" gun. The old-style mass charge inherited from 19th century warfare would just get the attacking force mowed down.

AFAIK, Russia doesn't any drone, missile or whatever operations from Belarius, their closest ally, usually counted as pro-Russian belligerent in Wikipedia infoboxes. This is basically low key as if Russia was opening a Belarusian front.

If Russian critical infrastructure is now being targeted not through Ukraine, but through the entire NATO territory, this is an insanely belligerent move by NATO. The next step is just bombing Russia from NATO territory, by NATO planes, missiles and artillery. And considering how "boiling the frog" always goes, this will be the new norm in 2027.

The Cuckler must react, he is militarily forced to.

My guess is that Russia now has full legitimacy to conduct anti-drone operations on NATO territory in full capacity, not just electronic warfare.

Soviets always had in mind decapitation of states and strike at grounburst military sites and bunkers and military industry. Lower AoE but much more destructive on hardened targets and dirtier at impact site than the American way. I believe Russia still has something similar. So unless you live in the capital, or near some military sites you won't die on the immediate effects of nuclear war or fallout.

Ukraine says US has resumed providing crucial intelligence after a brief pause

<Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the United States has resumed providing Ukraine with crucial intelligence that helps the country defend itself against Russian missile strikes, according to news agency Reuters.

<Ukraine has relied on US intelligence to quickly detect fast-moving ballistic missiles that Russia has fired in waves at Ukrainian cities.

<Speaking on NBC News' Meet the Press, Zelenskyy said intelligence sharing had been temporarily paused, but the obstacles have since been removed.

>"We are very thankful for this," he said.

<US President Donald Trump said earlier this week that the US was still sharing intelligence with Ukraine, even though Ukrainian officials had reported that some Russian strikes had occurred without advance warning.

If the european protests turned into a workers uprising, the EU would ask Russia to invade in exchange of Ukraine to distract. Just like Iran did with the US.

It’s honestly beyond satire that Trump’s election was denounced as influenced by Russian interference and the case made for impeachment based on that unproven claim, while Zelensky is currently trying to influence the mid-terms against Trump by falsely (according to Ukrainian sources) claiming that Trump is turning off Starlink and not sharing information from US surveillance satellites and that’s basically fine because the US intelligence agencies want the conflict to continue more than they want to ensure elections in the US are fair lmao

Like people aren’t losing their minds over it in the West because Zelensky is #ourguy, but genuinely it’s like giving Idi Amin the keys to the UN and it’s playing out as such. It’s a political joke.

>start the war lol lmaoing at Ukraine probably going to disappear because it means something is finally happening
>now effectively negatively polarized into being more pro-Ukraine than any NATO official
lol

The war is ultimately basically a tragedy without desirable outcomes, but once you see Russia as the United Kingdom, a has been country that refuses to accept history has passed it by and its options are to accept that and become a nice place to live or decline further and further by fighting it, there are no other conclusions. You can make whatever uncharitable assumptions you want about Ukraine and that conclusion will still hold. "Campism" or whatever you want to call it only holds if you really believe the other side is an alternative camp and not a joke. You can make it more viable by emphasising the China/Russia relationship, but in truth I think that relationship is at worst a mistake and at best is very similar to the UK/US relationship where the senior partner will throw the junior under the bus. (Indeed perhaps that's the only reason to cynically support Russia, to prolong the war and keep the US looking at Russia instead of China… Which is an end I support but not a means I support. A US-China war would be a civilizational catastrophe.)

Of course, none of us supports anything. These are all this irrelevant thoughts on an irrelevant website, as indignant as I'm sure they'll make someone who really thinks if he posts hard enough then Russia will finally capture Burgertown from Uncle Sam.
It certainly seems history is already passing America by as well. Just keep the peace and wait for the Chinese century…

Chances are this still happens regardless of the outcome tbh. I’ve seen random people on Xitter voice their belief that a rebuild fund is coming that will Marshall Plan Ukraine into being vastly more developed and modern than Russia, but no actual declarations by the West to that end.

The only post-war scenario presented was essentially handing its governance over to US techbros to experiment on, but that was like three years ago now and no real idea if that’s the plan. But certainly there’s absolutely no chance that Ukraine receives billions to sacrifice itself for NATO’s opportunistic stab at collapsing Russia, then receives trillions to reverse that sacrifice regardless of what happens to Russia. Maybe they’ll get some development assistance to keep up appearances if Russia ends this conflict with enough economy to rebuild, but if Ruble is indeed reduced to Rubble then there’s absolutely no reason why Ukraine needs any consolation prizes as they did their job and got what their beloved nationalists wanted.

No it’s not funny at all, because it suggests economic damage and resentment in the West has reached post-WW1 Germany levels somehow and history is repeating itself in blaming it all on a boogeyman who apparently won’t stop until eliminated.

Like haven’t you caught on to the actual coincidence here that western liberal governments keep pandering to Nazis at home and abroad, while claiming both exist because of Russia?

putin taking advantage of the zelensky trump split

>Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested a meeting next month with US President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war on terms favorable to Moscow, according to people familiar with the talks.

https://www.wsj.com/world/russia/putin-floats-a-summit-with-trump-and-xi-to-decide-ukraines-fate-1cf6acc1

>Zelensky and the EU would be excluded from the proposed summit. The idea aims to leverage improving relations between Trump and Putin, a development that has raised alarms in Ukraine, and European capitals. Such a three-way meeting without Ukraine and thd EU would be unprecedented.

>>2934982
>Such a three-way meeting without Ukraine and thd EU would be unprecedented.
The irony of saying this after years of “peace summits” that Russia wasn’t invited to and resulted in the peace deal of Russian surrender, restitutions and having Putin sing at Zelensky’s victory party while wearing a tutu and handcuffs.

does russia genuinely have no air defense? this is fucking embarassing, i guess thats europes saudi arabia

>>2934985
Yes, that’s why Ukraine NATO has to blow millions of dollars launching many hundred drones in a single night to land perhaps five on target.

>>2934985
Their air defense system is very good actually, probably the best in the world right now. Reportedly they have over 90% success rate in Moscow including against big drone swarms. Apparently it doesn't cover the entire country though, so UA is now hitting other targets.

Similar to the small, smokey fires which failed to destroy all oil refining capacity in Russia forever, I suspect the peremoga in dropping 50kgs on data centres is that powering down the facility is likely and therefore causes an outage that gets reported and likewise we just forget it happened anyway if the facility is powered back up the next day/week/month

>>2934657
I would argue that the main game changer in modern warfare are networks, surveillance and intel though. I mean you still have infantry doing reconnaissance missions, they're called "DRG"s, but their and the pioneer's missions as well are today different and more difficult compared to the doctrines of the past, it's almost bordering kamikaze. Meanwhile drone operators have taken over classic battlefield reconnaissance.

I think the peculiarity of this conflict is not so much the technology, but rather its usual in the sense it’s ultimately attritional warfare but unusual in the sense that Russia and Ukraine don’t have the equal ability to attrit each other.

Like I’ve no doubt Ukrainian military casualties are far higher, but Ukraine is expending people who would be considered unfit for military service elsewhere while explicitly blocking mobilising the young, healthy men any other military would have called up on day one. Russia’s military is made up of militarily fit men, thus even if Ukraine is losing 10:1… so? Who cares?

Likewise with the suicide drones, Russia has oil refineries, factories, E-commerce centres, a fleet of transportation vehicles, etc, Ukraine has some abandoned shells of former factories that now strap grenades to off-the-shelf drones, so what if they’re attacked? Who cares? Just build them in someone’s kitchen instead.

This is almost exactly the reverse of the truth in the case of Europe.
I don't think you have any evidence of this whatsoever, but if you had thought it through to the minimum level you would at-best be confusing a relative for an absolute decline.
e.g. if America's manufacturing remained static since 1990 - and it hasn't, it's grown - but other sectors grew faster, manufacturing as a share of the total economy shrinks despite manufacturing itself growing, because other things grew faster. Europe's manufacturing has generally grown less than the US, but because everything else has grown more slowly, manufacturing as a share of the total economy appears stronger in Europe even though that's just an artefact of a weaker European economy in general.

https://arstechnica.com/space/2026/10/russian-spacecraft-maneuvers-in-extreme-proximity-to-satellite-used-by-ukraine/

>The situation remained stable until last week, when Kosmos 2612 began rapidly moving toward ICEYE-X36. By Friday, Kosmos 2612 was holding station 2 to 3 kilometers away before shifting positions ahead of and behind the ICEYE satellite, LeoLabs said. The satellites were within 500 meters (1,640 feet) of one another over the weekend, and “likely quite a bit closer than that,” said Adam Marsh, LeoLabs’ vice president of technical solutions.

>LeoLabs operates a global network of radars to track objects as small as 2 centimeters, about the size of a marble, in low-Earth orbit. The proximity of Kosmos 2612 and ICEYE-X36 “occasionally made it difficult to distinguish the two spacecraft independently,” LeoLabs said.

>As of Monday, Kosmos 2612 is moving away from the ICEYE satellite at a relative velocity of about 10 mph (17 kilometers per hour), according to Marsh.

>There were no reports of physical damage to the ICEYE-X36 satellite by the time Kosmos 2612 started its retreat Sunday. But getting so close to a US-owned satellite with military utility was a provocation, said retired Lt. Gen. John Shaw, a former deputy commander of US Space Command.

>“So far, the best interpretation of the Russian activity is clear messaging that they will intentionally conduct aggressive activity near platforms they perceive as actual or potential threats to their interests,” Shaw said. “A broader point is the acknowledgment this activity in the space domain is not at all different from what we often see Russia conduct in the other domains—close-in aggressive and provocative behavior.”

St. Petersburg named as Leningrad again

>The bill would restore the cities Soviet-era names.

<A bill has been submitted to the Russian State Duma to rename the city of St. Petersburg back to Leningrad and Volgograd to Stalingrad. The matter was reported by The Moscow Times, among others.

https://ru.themoscowtimes.com/2026/10/19/v-gosdumu-vnesli-zakonoproekt-o-pereimenovanii-volgograda-v-stalingrad-a-peterburga-v-leningrad-a208981?

<The initiative was registered in the Duma on October 19. It was submitted by Angelika Glazkova, a member of parliament from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

<According to the bill, both cities would regain their former names within a year of the law taking effect. Documents already issued to individuals and businesses in the cities would remain valid until replaced in the ordinary course of business.

<Glazkova justifies her initiative with the restoration of "historical justice." According to her, hero cities should bear the names by which they were known during World War II. Renaming them again in the future would also be prohibited.

>"It would be quite strange to talk about the 'Siege of St. Petersburg' or the 'Battle of Volgograd'," the bill's rationale states.

Soviet names would be codified into law

<St. Petersburg was known as Leningrad from 1924 to 1991. Although the city's name changed following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the region surrounding St. Petersburg is still known as Leningrad Oblast. Volgograd, on the other hand, was Stalingrad from 1925 to 1961.

<Restoring the name Stalingrad has been repeatedly proposed in Russia. Dictator Vladimir Putin said in 2025 that he considered the idea logical, but noted that the city's residents should be consulted on the matter. Volgograd Airport was renamed Stalingrad that same year.

>>2935735
Very based, will never happen. Even despite St Petersburg being in Leningrad Oblast currently.

Lot of the car factories that were previously Western owned now build Chinese cars, but they’re given Soviet-era branding like Volga and Moskvitch, that is to say restoring Soviet-era naming is currently a marketing gimmick rather than something pursued from a position of true respect, let alone a desire to Retvrn.

Explosive-laden Ukrainian drone crashes in NATO state
>An unmanned aerial vehicle entered Lithuanian airspace from Poland, according to the Baltic nation’s Defense Ministry
<“Some of the drones were diverted off course by Russia’s electronic warfare systems and ended up in our territory. This particular drone is a consequence of the attack on St. Petersburg,” the [defence] minister told the LRT broadcaster. He also identified the drone as a Ukrainian FVP-1 model.
https://swentr.site/russia/647410-ukrainian-drone-crash-nato-state/

Waow what incredible luck for Ukrainian drones that Russian EW would inadvertently guide Ukrainian drones through Poland and the Baltics, well outside of Russian airspace, to nevertheless reach its target in St Petersburg. Somebody up there likes Ukraine.

>>2934993
Yeah. That's true. I think what everyone wants to do is speed up the time between identifying a target and tasking something to attack the target, since a lot of this is going on beyond visual range. So a reconaissance drone spots something that is 30 or 50 kilometers away, how do you then task something else to attack that target. That can involve technology (like command-and-control systems) and also organizational systems so lower-echelon units can proceed without waiting for higher-echelon authority.

It's actually a sort of dialectical way of fighting. Knowledge develops through praxis and your enemy is an active opponent who is changing in response to your own actions. So how do you adjust with constant feedback to then adapt faster than your enemy.

>>2935001
That Ukraine has lost more people in combat is a meme. Russia has lost more. Several times more. But Russia has a lot more people. We're not going to agree and it's pointless to debate this though.

I'd just point out that the side doing most of the advancing / attacking usually takes higher casualties than the defender unless the defender is totally outmatched and outgunned.

It's why SWAT teams will try to grab one guy by surprise (when they think you're asleep and can't reach for that Draco) with overwhelming force and outnumber you 10 to 1. But an armed suspect who is prepared can inflict multiple casualties on a SWAT team. The bare recommended minimum for a successful assault is 3:1 in manpower. A more even ratio makes the likelihood of the assault failing significantly higher. (And 3:1 can still fail.) You can compensate for lack of manpower in an assault with more firepower. Like if you going in with 3:1 instead of 6:1 you will want to use more artillery.

This isn't an exact science. Like there's a difference between a defender who is asleep in his bed and a methed-out tweaker with a gun aimed through some bunker he's constructed inside his house.

So extrapolate that out to a battlefield and Ukraine are the methed-out tweakers, you're talking about advancing against a numerically inferior enemy but they're dug in behind fortifications and there are land mines everywhere and also they can see what you're doing a lot because they have drones. What it tells me is that Ukraine's changes of retaking the Donbass or Crimea is highly unlikely given the present circumstances, but Russia's advances have also been slow going and come at a high cost.

War goals are also political. Russia wants to change the government in Ukraine. That's the long-term goal. The short-term goal is to take the rest of the territory Russia has already formally annexed. Ukraine's long-term goal is to retake the territory it has lost to Russia, and prevent Russia from taking more territory, and to keep Russia from taking over the country.

Suggestions of Russia losing 10:1 is just assuming that despite Russia’s apparent superiority in numbers and zerg rush tactics, they’re struggling to capture the remaining 10-20% of each Oblast they’re annexing because Ukraine is using le drones to individually kill each and every soldier from cover.

That seems unlikely to me and likely projection. Bearing in mind it’s Ukraine who (perhaps arrogantly) gave themselves the victory goal of restoring full 1991 borders and that’s a goal that requires capturing far more territory than Russia does as of present. The only real change for Ukraine is that in 2023 they announce counteroffensives that will result in beach parties and then drive en masse into minefields and artillery cover to wide media coverage, in 2026 they ask people to not report on movements at the front as “OPSEC” so that any successes can be retroactively reported as the only intended objective. Changes in confidence aside, it’s apparent that it’s Ukraine that has been trying to aggressively push the line for 5 years to little success and the claims of stalemate is simply whataboutism.

For Russia, obviously capturing the last ~15% is important as the conflict can’t go on forever, but they’re relatively close to the Russian border still and enjoy far more air support than Ukrainians do. It’s often presented as a failure for Russia, but cities in Donetsk oblast being reduced to rubble suggests two things
>Ukraine is desperate to not retreat from cities for while they still exist, since you can’t capture 1991 borders by retreating out of the few remaining strongholds in Eastern Ukraine
>Russia has the practically unopposed capacity to destroy cities via air dropped bombs, it takes time to destroy a city one glide bomb at a time, but attacks result in Ukrainian casualties that must be replaced to avoid retreat anyway
I don’t see how that doesn’t result in catastrophic losses for Ukraine.

Because the Russian Government are essentially Neo-Whites, there’s no political reason why they’d reverse Yeltsin’s renaming of Leningrad back to St Petersburg. Anything Soviet that remains within Russia is simply because the Russian proletariat has or would oppose its removal, at least in the 90s, not because Neo-Whites like being reminded of how based the USSR was and that history smiles on Whites losing the civil war.

Like it’s already pretty cheeky of them to include the White Russian flag during the victory parade alongside the Soviet victory flag but okay they’re going to rename Volgograd back to Stalingrad to preserve the history of the war.

>>2935247
There are a couple of misleading economic statements in this post.
The G7 as a bloc went from 56% of global manufacturing value added in 2000 to 33% in 2022, while China went from 6.4% to 31%. This cannot be hidden by 'these sectors grew faster than the industrial one sumtin sumetin' or else China wouldn't have gotten so big.

your post only makes sense if you, too, fail to understand how share works. G7 manufacturing has grown since 2000, Chinese manufacturing has grown faster, thus China's share of global manufacturing has grown. Conveniently, US manufacturing growth since 2000 has been the strongest in the G7. "or else china wouldn't have gotten so big" only makes sense in a world where demand for manufactures is fixed, which it obviously isn't. (On top of everything else: as China has grown, Chinese people have been able to have more stuff! 66% of Chinese manufacturing is for domestic consumption!)

moreover, within China manufacturing as a share of GDP has fallen because of the forces I describe. (Manufacturing grows, services grow faster > manufacturing's share of GDP shrinks.)

And your post omits that it is because of the growth of the manufacturing base of China that it allowed the services in the west to outgroth the manufacturing base, including Chinese's base, too. a universal force cannot explain a differential outcome. Services grew faster in both, China and the G7, and one tripled its share of world manufacturing while the other roughly halved it. if the same force operated on both and produced opposite results, the force isn’t doing the explanatory work. something else is. you described an accounting identity and called it a cause.

Now, 2 corrections:
<1st
>Conveniently, US manufacturing growth since 2000 has been the strongest in the G7
This study, from 2013:
https://www.upjohn.org/MEG/papers/Measuring%20Mfg_Houseman_Bartik_Sturgeon.pdf

>When the computer and electronic products industry is excluded, real GDP growth in manufacturing falls by two thirds between 1997 and 2007, the decade leading up to the Great Recession. In 2011, without computer-related industries, real GDP in the manufacturing sector was actually lower than in 2000. The computer and electronic products industry similarly drives real manufacturing output growth in most U.S. states. Real manufacturing GDP growth between 1997 and 2007 falls by more than half in a majority of states and by at least 25 percent in all but 10 states.

p.3.
tl;dr:
>Houseman, Bartik and Sturgeon found that excluding computers and electronic products, US real manufacturing value added in 2011 was about 5% lower than in 2000. Ex-computers growth over 1997–2007 was 1.2% a year, roughly a third of the published aggregate rate.
The authors of that study flagged offshoring bias overstating real manufacturing value added by up to 20% for 1997–2007, and recommend that statistical agencies publish manufacturing figures excluding computer-related industries.
So the point is he single sector carrying essentially all of America’s measured manufacturing 'growth' is the one whose physical production moved to Asia., and the same authors note the US share of computer and semiconductor production has itself fallen sharply. 'US manufacturing grew' is, to a first approximation, a statement about how statisticians deflate semiconductor prices.

<2nd.

you are treating manufacturing as consumption: more stuff for everyone, non-zero-sum. but deindustrialization arguments are about capacity, leverage and security, where relative position is the whole point:

a) Shipbuilding: China went from under 5% of global output in 2000 to over 53% in 2025, with over 60% of the global orderbook. The US was 0.11% in 2024 and effectively zero in 2025.
b) CSSC alone builds more commercial tonnage per year than the entire US industry has produced since 1945. Three US yards closed since 2010; sector employment down 15%.
UNIDO projects the US share of global manufacturing value added falling to 11% by 2030, with China at 45%.
Baldwin (https://rbaldwin.substack.com/p/is-china-still-the-worlds-sole-manufacturing): China now produces more manufactured goods than the next nine largest manufacturers combined.

None of a, b and c are a "share" illusion.

And one final thing you should be measuring:
https://economics.mit.edu/sites/default/files/2026-03/On%20the%20Persistence%20of%20the%20China%20Shock.pdf
p.381, p.384
>We evaluate the duration of the China trade shock and its impact on a wide range of outcomes over the period from 2000 to 2019. The shock plateaued in 2010, enabling analysis of its effects for nearly a decade past its culmination. Adverse impacts of import competition on manufacturing employment, overall employment-population ratios, and income per capita in more trade-exposed US commuting zones are present out to 2019. Over the full study period, greater import competition implies a reduction in the manufacturing employment-population ratio of 1.54 percentage points, which is 55 percent of the observed change in the value, and the absorption of 86 percent of this net job loss via a corresponding decrease in the overall employment rate.
>(for the US) About 86% of that loss was never reabsorbed: workers left employment rather than moving to other sectors.

Because they are not dialectical materialists. If you understand things as a process in constant change and movement then a statement such as "if India fights America i hope they both die" are not possible, because you understand that both countries are capable of change and therefore wishing upon their destruction is senseless bloodthirst and nihilism.
But because they are not dialectical materialists they do not perceive things as in a state of motion and change, but as things that are fixed rigidly. It manifests in many ways, but once you see it you can't unsee it.

Musk Ordered Starlink Slowdown That Blindsided Ukraine
>The SpaceX founder authorized the move and has been discussing Ukraine with Trump, but the president has denied ordering the restrictions
<Elon Musk ordered the slowdown of a military-grade version of Starlink relied on by Ukraine, a decision that sparked panic in Kyiv and confusion inside the Trump administration, U.S. officials and people familiar with the matter said.

Maybe 3x or 4x but not 10x. Also it's not an assumption Russia is struggling to capture the rest of these oblasts. They are struggling to do it because it's really hard. Also it's not just drones but mines. Remember that big Ukrainian offensive that went nowhere? A big reason for that was mines but there are shitloads of mines everywhere on both sides. Also Ukrainians. And Russians. And they're heavily-armed with grenade launchers and will blow each other up if they see each other. I mean it's a lot of reasons.

>That seems unlikely to me and likely projection. Bearing in mind it’s Ukraine who (perhaps arrogantly) gave themselves the victory goal of restoring full 1991 borders and that’s a goal that requires capturing far more territory than Russia does as of present.

Compared to Russia taking the rest of its declared oblasts, yes.

>Changes in confidence aside, it’s apparent that it’s Ukraine that has been trying to aggressively push the line for 5 years to little success and the claims of stalemate is simply whataboutism.

Well it's politically threatening to say it's a statemate because that implies they can't retake much territory outside of these limited operations. Russia gains a few hundred square kilometers and then Ukraine recaptures a similar amount somewhere else but the overall picture doesn't change.

>>2935871
>thats just not true in many situation, typically even in ww1 trench warfare the attacking side often had less casualties than the defending one, because mass arty is just that good.
Well I mean as a general heuristic. So that doesn't happen when the attacker brings a lot of artillery to bear to overcome the defender's advantages, but the reason they did that is because it would be a bloodbath for the attacker because defending is less complicated than attacking, all things being equal. Russia is historically an artillery-heavy army to try and compensate for the kludginess of their army's organizational structure.

>>2936421
>They are struggling to do it because it's really hard.
That’s true. But that’s because although Russia has only ~15% left to capture, the reality of it is that Ukraine is pushing most of its men and resources into the ~1% of that territory that is urbanised or has tree cover. So it’s difficult to advance on a city like Kramatorsk with drones, mines and anti-tank missiles pouring out of it towards anything that moves, but at the same time, refusing to retreat from a city that has essentially no air defence means for Russia it’s like shooting monkeys in a barrel and thus the battle of “symbolicshitholivka” is always just Ukraine busing recruits into the town to occupy whatever buildings are currently still standing at that point in time and ends when there aren’t any left.

Russia does nevertheless make advances towards these urban centres, but seemingly only to bring artillery within range to complement the already months-long drone and glide bomb campaign.

Russia only ends up entering towns when half the buildings are already destroyed and Ukraine can’t physically fit enough men into what remains to hold it, not that this stops them from trying anyway.

From Russia’s perspective, they’re spread out over a much wider area and facing a foe that lacks much in the way of air and artillery support. Ukraine can and does complicate logistics with medium-ranged drones, but they just aren’t able to likewise level Russian settlements with the luxury of time, thus they’re much more needing of big arrow advances to take those broadly intact settlements. Which is possible, but they’re facing the same problem of FPV drones pouring out of said settlements as they trundle across minefields.

Again, I just don’t see how this situation doesn’t result in catastrophic casualties for Ukraine.

And yeah when people claim the front is a stalemate, it’s based on the common assumption that despite having free reign to attack Ukrainian troops wherever they’re being holed up in Donbass, Russia must be trying to Zerg Rush anyway because Enemies at the Gate and the History Channel says that’s the only way Russia knows how to fight.

>>2936428
Well what happens is the war moves underground. These cities were built during the Cold War and have a lot of bomb shelters underground, or the Ukrainians just build more of them. I think your conception of your enemy is a little too frozen or fixed.

>>2936438
It's arguably a stalemate because neither side can gain an operational breakthrough. Maybe that changes but the lines haven't moved all that much in a year. A lot of people can still be dying in the war but that also happened in World War I while the front lines didn't move much

>>2936255

i know you are trying to being sarcastic. shame. I would have hoped you to learn to take it two notches back. Problem is, by trying to overlook what I said and mock it, you changed numbers, and mixed up everything, while also doing new claims that doesn't add up.

>>2936421
>Russia gains a few hundred square kilometers and then Ukraine recaptures a similar amount somewhere else but the overall picture doesn't change
thats just not what is happening. Russia is still advancing, slowly but surely. And the attrition rates are very high, and the economic damage ukraine suffer is ridiculously high compared to russia. The picture for me is increasingly bleak for ukraine, as it has been since the start

>Russia is historically an artillery-heavy army to try and compensate for the kludginess of their army's organizational structure

thats a very retarded statement, being artillery heavy demand MORE organization, coordination and supply, and the red army was by far the most well organized and coordinated force of this magnitude by the end of ww2.

>So that doesn't happen when the attacker brings a lot of artillery to bear to overcome the defender's advantages

yes, so an offensive, despite taking more firepower/men, dont take more casualties, so your heuristic is simply wrong for casualties assessment

>>2936421
>Russia is historically an artillery-heavy army to try and compensate for the kludginess of their army's organizational structure.

>>2936459
>Russia is still advancing, slowly but surely.
The overall net territorial gain for Russia this year is close to zero. In the last month they probably lost territory.

>And the attrition rates are very high, and the economic damage ukraine suffer is ridiculously high compared to russia.

Undoubtedly, and the war is being fought on their territory.

>thats a very retarded statement, being artillery heavy demand MORE organization, coordination and supply, and the red army was by far the most well organized and coordinated force of this magnitude by the end of ww2.

In terms of aggregated numbers and concentrated force in gigantic field armies, but their system creates a different set of problems. They don't have strong NCOs in their system. Flag officers are even more important in relative terms, which means lower-echelon units are relatively kludgy in operational maneuver. For the WWII example, it was typical for a whole Soviet rifle platoon to provide a base of fire for maneuvering platoons, which was scaled up and that added a lot of weight of firepower, but these units are less maneuverable because they're larger. And then to compensate for that you have more artillery. But a problem now is that the top leadership of the Russian army circa 2026 is arrogant and bad. Also a lot of their top guys are idiots and Gerasimov is a drunk.

>>2936492
>Wtf are you talking about? Deep battle emphasized combined arms and saying thjs after we know how WW2 ended is straight up delusional.
Sure. That's an operational-level theory to make the Soviet army that actually existed in WWII work within a way that maximized their strengths and minimized their weaknesses. So the question today is why haven't these Russian assaults achieved the kinds of breakthroughs that the Soviet army was capable of doing during WWII.

>>2936506
>The overall net territorial gain for Russia this year is close to zero. In the last month they probably lost territory.

>>2936940
>it is left wing when you hate workers and people

sure… this is why the Russian shills are the worst here.

My least popular view is that I have become sanguine about NATO and US power on the whole. There is always an empire that preserves world trade and the alarming tendency is that the US clearly does not want to maintain that role. US actions have generally fucked things up as an agent of global trade and development. (e.g. the Iran situation was fine until recent events. Iran is hostile to the US, but a marginal and distant theatre level threat. By starting a war the US has turned this into a global trade catastrophe and will possibly embolden other states to threaten trade.)
It is not necessary to think the US is good to see the value of a stable global environment for economic development.

China stands to win the most if the US retains this role for the medium term while China builds up the kind of navy that could replace the US in this global trade protection sort of role. US power declining too quickly will just lead to petty chaos rather than socialist prosperity.
Unfortunately, accelerating US decline is official US policy.

There is no China replacing US in any scenario. If being the US in US led system was beneficial we really would be living in a eternal resent with US on the top forever. Since nobody can be like the USA better and better fit to lead the current system than the USA itself. When US falls there won't be a US shaped hole to fill. The new system is and will grow around China

Also I'm somewhat doubtful of even the need of a global policeman in the future for "trade protection". That is mostly just a US excuse to have troops and bases everywhere to project military power everywhere.

>If Russia can invade Ukraine for her crimes why then can western Europe not invade Russia for hers?

Nukes

Jannies are zelenskyists

I don't support either side of this retarded interimperialist war; however I would like to point out something that everyone for whatever reason has chosen to forget:
NATO could have ended this war in a week back in February of 2022.

The Russians could not secure Kiev and were nowhere close (and are STILL nowhere close) to being able to put pressure on or stop the supply and logistics chain from neighboring Poland. All NATO had to do to immediately stop the invasion was to smuggle one or two small scale nuclear bombs into Ukraine, and then to launch them within Ukraine's borders against Donetsk or the highest concentration of Russian forces, in order to inflict massive casualties on the Russians and to virtually decapitate their military machine in its tracks.

NATO did not do this. Instead, NATO opted for a long-grinding war of attrition in which both Russia AND Ukraine will end up losing massive amounts of men and material for an inconclusive result. It's looking like a freeze at the current lines in order to buy time to re-arm and to try again in another 5/10 years is the likeliest scenario for """peace""" at this moment. Even if you are the most pro-NATO Ukrainian nationalist, you have to admit to yourself that NATO never intended for Ukraine to win, because they have always possessed the ability to end this war from Day 1 and simply refused to implement it.

Now, was Russia still retarded for taking the bait and going to war when the Americans were expecting it and wanting it to happen? Yes. Were the Ukrainians retarded for thinking they could fight Russia on their own and win easily? Yes. None of this excuses the retarded behavior on both sides that enabled the West to exploit the situation. But there has also been no good outcome achieved from this conflict either.

>>2936966
>If you make me look like a clueless retard, I’ll claim you’re desperate

>>2936976
starting history in 2022 is charitable to the Russian side. if we start it in 2014 they look dumber for basically getting what they wanted and getting away with it and then escalating to full scale war in 2022 and paying hundreds of billions of dollars and countless lives for at-best a little more, if we start in 1991 they look worse still for collaborating with nationalists of all stripes to break up the USSR and then getting buyer's remorse for a process they were the most relevant part of. Recognizing, as you do, that this war originated in the competition of two capitalist powers, one global hegemon and one aspiring regional one…

Do you believe the "unnecessary" war would have been avoided if say, a falling star had granted a wish and the RF had been elevated to communist state somewhere along the way?

Or would that have rather evoked even greater antagonism from NATO and just the same if not greater prospects of war?

>>2937012
>Do you believe the "unnecessary" war would have been avoided if say…
The war would have been totally avoided if Russia just chilled the fuck out and avoided going into Ukraine. When the Americans took over Afghanistan and set up their military bases right on the border with China, China didn't use that as an excuse to invade Afghanistan to kick them out for "national security". China is literally surrounded by pro-West enemies (Pakistan, Japan, S. Korea, India, etc.) and still refrain from chimping out at everyone. It was well within Russia's capability to do the same but they just couldn't help themselves. Russia was never under any threat from NATO. NATO can only bully countries without nuclear weapons. Both China and North Korea demonstrate that with nukes you can stop giving a shit about the West and just focus on internal economic development.

In fact, North Korea VERY RECENTLY was literally attacked by the South under their former crazy right wing lunatic president who tried to launch a coup (Yoon).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_South_Korean_martial_law_crisis

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/ex-south-korea-president-yoon-tried-provoke-pyongyang-into-armed-aggression-2025-12-15/

Yoon launched an unprovoked drone attack on North Korea in order to try to bait them into a war. North Korea simply ignored it and did not attack the South in response. Literally even the North Koreans are smarter than the retards currently running Russia.

The issue with how Ukrops handle the economy is that by treating their economy like a csgo skin market or the steam market is that it heavily incentivizes cheating. Ergo, its a big reason why their kill claims are so high, drone operators are rewarded based on points, which means you can trick the system by using various methods. One method, which if its currently used wont be disclosed to the public well after the war is over, is taking Russian pows or even their own deserters, put them in "russian army" looking clothes and then film drone drops. Absolutely, they’re for some reason very confident that their respective governments would never arrest people simply for being a member of a Communist Party, despite evidence in the UK at least that current circumstances depends entirely on parties being tiny and fractured.

Palestine Action was big enough to get banned as a terrorist organisation, their protests involved arrests, writers who have supported Palestine have had their books banned, etc. If any Communist Party grew to have the voter share the KPRF has in Russia, it’s pretty obvious the political repression would be 1920s-tier
