2: get libs correcting everyone since tariffs are traditionally a tax on imports charged at the port by the government, against the party doing the importing.

3: libs naturally don't mention the fact that the importing companies pass the tax onto the end consumer in the form of increased prices

4: trump admin comes in and negates point 2 by refunding the tariffs, therefore it was just price gouging on imports with no punishment whatsoever to the companies themselves, essentially functioning as a double tax on consumption. since the companies already passed the tariff onto the consumer to protect their profits, their refunds are effectively a subsidy, and not even covering losses of the tariff, which they already passed along
