Why is this guy telling me that men need to learn to police themselves better? Taylor Lorenz did a whole thing debunking that article. Neoconservatives are using the narratives of "rape being a natural male urge" to push for laws that repress women, while at the same time, the "left", or atleast those who can pay for the fake follows, have access to the repost networks, have the backing of the right people, are running the same narrative but with a feminist glaze of "this is why we need to educate men" like brother, anyone with critical thinking skills could know that 65 million page visits to a porn website is not the same as 65 million men learning how to rape. There's 1.1k videos on that site if you search "sensual lesbian". 1000 men in a telegram group, one that has global members? That's much less sensational than 65 million men in a group learning to rape.

Who would benefit from a narrative of bioessentialism that paints men as inherently X and women as inherently Y? Who would benefit from inflaming gender war discourse? Why is the left so reactionary in terms of strategy? Constantly reacting to this, that or the other thing? Why did so many pundits who are supposedly incredibly well liked, supported, with hundreds of thousands of followers all report on the same misinformation all at the same time, with the same narrative? And if those pundits are all reposting each other, boosting each other in the comments, while pushing the same clear propaganda campaign, can they be trusted? Because I'd posit there have been many other instances of this type of misinformation programming happening, that I or you haven't picked up on because we did not realize it was misinformation.

The thing that gets me with the 65 million men story, is how almost eager people have been to jump on these numbers and push them as fact. And then instead of being relieved that the number is a falsehood, there's a feeling that it should be real, that it should be true. I think that speaks to how throughly captured we've become by gender war rhetoric. The capitalist is absolutely pushing these narratives. The capitalist is aware that the average left-leaning is probably going to jump on that number as a confirmation of this idea that men are naturally predators. These are incredibly sophisticated propaganda narratives. Every aspect of that story was curated, selected, created, every promotional, every leading sentence, every headline. Potentially dozens of people were involved in the creation of this narrative. This is how they operate, it's how they maintain their hegemony. It's not even that the capitalist is paying 'our people' to reiterate the misinformation, it's that the misinformation is specifically designed to be captured by our very 'react to this happening' pundits. Every leftist should read Bernays and at least have a baseline understanding of the situationist's concept of the spectacle and Gramsci's hegemony. We also should come to terms with this fact: if your party is funded by a foreign billionaire then you betray the massline, and cannot be a grassroots org, and thus cannot win.
