>>2897468>Liberal point of view. We are at an age where there is a vast ontological change. The collective is beginning. We are starting to experience things as a collective, a class, not individuals.>If you cannot put the proletariat before yourself you will never make it.you know I agree people should be willing to sacrifice for the greater good, but at the same time this is not a common sentiment among leftists except when they want you to sacrifice for their benefit. you never see people saying "put the community before yourself" when it comes to things like mental health or socializing or cultivating a positive atmosphere with the people around you. I was having a convo with a friend about this today so it's still fresh on my mind forgive me for the tangent but it's kinda sad how leftists will preach all about "mutual aid" and "community" and "common good" right up until someone says hi to them on the street and then suddenly they'll run to Twitter to complain about strangers talking to them. Or if a friend confides in them about having mental health issues or being lonely, depressed, etc they'll just say "bro that sucks you should go to therapy" and just completely dodge your feelings. People will talk about "making sacrifices for the people you love" or "preaching tolerance" and then the moment their parents or friends or someone close to them says something they disagree with they just pull out the zoomer silent treatment and hold a grudge for the rest of their life. So many fucking people have been socialized in a completely capitalist liberal mindset to treat human relationships purely in terms of "what do I get out of this?" and it's so fucking depressing. Makes me wish I had the kind of sense of community they have in third world countries, but I'm also self-aware that those communities also come with all their own problems. I'm just ultimately pretty wary of any leftist that preaches "communal living" or "mutual aid" these days because they're usually the same type that are extremely quick to create enemies over minor microaggressions.
This is a bit retarded to bring up here but I was recently reading "discourse" in the vtuber space where a bunch of people were getting mad at strangers on the internet for "trying to find a girlfriend at conventions" or "trying to find a girlfriend in vtuber/anime spaces" as if it's sexpest behavior, and it just so fundamentally pissed me off how socially reclusive people have become even when it comes to overtly social activities like going to conventions. It reminds me of my own attempts to make friends(and meet women) in leftist spaces and how completely avoidant everyone is. You can have 99 things in common with someone at a left-wing meetup and they'll still find an excuse to escape the situation when you strike up a convo and try to move beyond smalltalk. It's fucking depressing bro.
sorry for shitting up usapol I just had to get this frustration off my chest.

>If a piece of equipment breaks inside Captain Kaz โDexterโ Moffettโs underground command center at the Alpha-01 Missile Alert Facility, itโs marked with a paper tag that reads either โwarningโ or โdanger.โ A few of those are hanging in this cramped capsule buried about 70 ft. below the high plains of eastern Wyoming. One is stuck to the shut-off valves that control water flow in the event of an emergency. Thereโs another one on a ventilation hatch. The entire command capsule itself is jury-rigged on top of steel stilts because the shock-absorber system, which was first installed in 1963 to survive a thermonuclear blast, is now inoperative. So thereโs a tag for Air Force maintenance teams to fix that too.
>Then there are malfunctions that arenโt marked. Moffettโs computer monitorโthe one that enables him to keep watch on a fleet of 10 nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs)โhas a flashing glitch on the bottom of the screen. His classified phone line has such a weak connection that he can barely hear fellow Air Force officers who are commanding more than 100 other nuclear missiles spread across 9,600 sq. mi. โYou can hear them pretty clearly if you stand on an angle, on one leg, and jump up and down,โ Moffett says, smiling. โItโs all part of the job. We spend a lot of time saying to ourselves, โHey, how are we going to make this work today?โโ
>Walking into Moffettโs capsule at Alpha-01 is like walking into the past. Banks of turquoise electronics racks, industrial cables, and analog controls have been down here since the U.S. military installed the equipment decades ago. Look closely at the machines and youโll find names of manufacturers like Radio Corp. of America, defunct since 1987, and Hughes Aircraft Co., defunct since 1997. Some systems have been updated over the years, but these advances are unrecognizable to anyone who lived through the personal-computer revolution, let alone the internet age. The entire ICBM fleet runs on less computational power than whatโs now found inside the smartphone in your pocket. When something breaks, the Air Force maintenance crews pull parts from warehouse shelves, pay a contractor to make them to specifications, or even occasionally scavenge them from military museums.https://www.kunm.org/local-news/2025-11-04/nuclear-arms-race-aging-los-alamos
>Now, the laboratory is under increasing pressure to meet the federal governmentโs ambitions to upgrade the nationโs nuclear arsenal. The $1.7 trillion project includes everything from revitalizing missile silos burrowed deep in five states, to producing new warheads that contain the pits, to arming new land-based missiles, bomber jets and submarines.
>But the overall modernization effort is years behind schedule, with costs ballooning by the billions, according to the Congressional Budget Office. In 2018, Congress charged Los Alamos with making an annual quota of 30 pits by 2026, but by last year it had produced just one approved for the nuclear stockpile. Bessentโs bond market intervention falls flat as turbulence continues
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessentโs announcement that the Treasury is going to double its buyback of long-dated US bonds from $2 billion to $4 billion has fallen flat. After an initial fall in yields, they have started to rise again and are back near the multi-year highs recorded earlier this week.
This was despite Bessent saying in an interview with the business channel CNBC that the buyback could be more than the $4 billion that he initially announced. The general sentiment in the market is that the growing bond market turbulence is not going to be calmed by such interventions because more fundamental issuesโabove all, the rise of US debt to $40 trillionโare involved.
There are growing concerns that the US is in a โdoom loopโ because of the rise in interest payments to more than $1 trillion a year, creating a situation where the government must borrow money just to pay the interest bill on past debt.
In the words of one analyst cited by the Wall Street Journal, the Bessent intervention was a โband aidโ and did not โreally fix the problem.โ
Another analyst told the Financial Times: โWe donโt really think this [intervention] can succeed in isolation. Interventions such as this look like a sticking plaster.โ
Bessentโs response to the marketโs thumbs down on his initiative was to try to bluff and bluster his way through the developing crisis. He told CNBC that the market had โgotten a little ahead of itself,โ and the Trump administration would be setting out a plan to reduce the budget deficit in the coming days.
โWe believe there are many underlying factors that the market is not looking at,โ he said.
There was a โvery good chanceโ that the deficit had peaked and that tariff income and a crackdown on fraud would lift government revenues.
Neither of these claims will be regarded as in any way credible. On the issue of tariffs, the Treasury is in the process of refunding large US corporations the billions of dollars they paid under Trumpโs โreciprocal tariffsโ imposed in April 2025 but which were struck down by the Supreme Court as illegal earlier this year. The total amount to be handed back is estimated at $160 billion or more.
โAll weโre trying to do is get people to focus on the fundamentals and not trade the headlines in a quiet period in a thin market,โ Bessent told CNBC, as if the problems in bond markets were a mere technical glitch.
The driving force of the turbulence, however, is that finance capital is focusing on the โfundamentals,โ namely the ever-worsening financial position of US capitalism.
Reporting on the continued selloff of bonds yesterday, the Financial Times said it underscored โthe deep concern among investors over the USโs mounting public debt burden and whether policymakers will be able to contain the eruption of inflation triggered by President Donald Trumpโs war in Iran.โ
That assessment was based on the comments of analysts cited in the article. Joe Brusulas, chief economist at the professional services firm RSM US, said that โwithout a shift to fiscal consolidationโ to be achieved through higher taxes and a slower pace of government spending, โthe buybacks will prove to be only temporary.โ
Analysts at the global Japanese banking and investment firm MUFG said the Treasury was โlacking a strategic planโ and warned that its intervention might worsen the problems rather than resolve them.
โThe danger now following this announcement โฆ is that it proves counter-productive and leads to reduced appetite for either holding US assets or reduced appetite for exposure to the US dollar, or both,โ they said.
Kit Jukes, head of global foreign exchange strategy at Sociรฉtรฉ Gรฉnรฉrale, doubted whether the intervention would hold rates down and said that as the debt rose and deficits remained high, the willingness to buy US assets โwill be a growing issue.โ
Such assessments have far-reaching implications not only for the US but for the global financial system, because the U.S. Treasury market has functioned as a safe haven in times of financial stress.
This is now being called into question, as noted by Wall Street Journal columnist Greg Ip. The upward shift in bond yields had a number of drivers, he wrote, including โstickyโ inflation and increasing AI-linked corporate borrowing.
โLurking in the background, though, is a more troubling possibility. Treasuries, long the worldโs preferred โsafeโ asset, are looking less safe,โ and in moments of stress, โthey donโt behave like a safe haven.โ
This is because the US has โflooded the market with additional debt,โ especially since the pandemic, and โthere is no sign that the flood will abate.โ
The turbulence in the bond market is extending into Wall Street trading. Yesterday, quant hedge funds, which use statistics, historical data and algorithms to make their bets, suffered what was characterised as their worst day in two years.
One of the factors was the near tripling of the shares of Moderna after it announced successful trials for the treatment of skin cancer. This hit traders who had shorted its shares, expecting they would fall.
Summing up the situation, one hedge fund trader told the Financial Times: โVolatility is exceptional, so options makers are losing money left and right. The market is rotating every day, so what makes money today is almost always down tomorrow.โ
The volatility follows what has been described as a โbrutal July,โ in which AI-related chip stocks fell sharply, leading to the collapse of the hedge fund Situational Awareness and delivering a loss to the major Wall Street trading firm Jane Street of $15 billion in a single month.
Wall Street was also hit by the announcement by Walmart, the largest US retailer, that its sales growth for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending July 31 was the lowest in six years. Its shares dropped 9.2 percent, with the Wall Street Journal noting that its sales data showed โa string of data suggesting that consumer spendingโthe key engine of US economic growthโis softening somewhat.โ

>>2897642and guess what Canada has all those things through decades of military alliance with the US. it's not like the Canadian military is some 3rd world warlord PMC. they have drones. they have a navy. they have aircraft. they have pretty much the same capability as Ukraine when it comes to repelling a much stronger military force, and I predict the situation would be even worse for the Americans because Ukraine is much easier to wage war in.
of course, as I said it would be trivially easy to take Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, etc and effectively overthrow the Canadian government within 24 hours. it would just be nearly impossible to project force outside the border provinces.
people think the US military is able to take over any place on earth by just bombing it, but they were only able to take over Venezuela because the Venezuelan government threw Maduro to the wolves. a real conflict between Canada and the US would basically just be Canada's military bombing American cities to dust while retreating into the wilderness as the US struggles to occupy Toronto and pretends they "won" because they drone striked the PM.

Since most of the people involved are americans (except for walden bello), I am posting this here.
>The Guardian has published an open letter to Iranโs political prisoners, signed by Angela Davis, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Rashid Khalidi, Robin DG Kelley, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Judith Butler, Walden Bello, among others.
>These are not people to be dismissed lightly. Several have given their lives to the anti-imperialist and Black liberation movements, and one of them is writing from inside a US prison. I take no pleasure in disagreeing with them. But the letter is wrong, and plays an objectively harmful role.
>Its central image is the โtwo blades of a scissorsโ: the Islamic Republic on one side, US and Israeli imperialism on the other, with the Iranian people crushed between them. It inserts a symmetry between the worldโs major imperialist power and an anti-imperialist state that has never invaded another country, and which has stood consistently with the oppressed from Palestine to South Africa to Venezuela.
>The load-bearing phrase is this: โwe reject the false binary of imperialism and hollow anti-imperialism.โ Exactly how โhollowโ is Tehranโs anti-imperialism? ๐ตโ๐ซ
>For four decades, while almost every Arab government made its accommodation with Washington and Tel Aviv, Iran armed, funded and sustained the Palestinian resistance. It refused normalisation when the Abraham Accords put enormous inducements on the table. It has absorbed forty years of sanctions, assassinations of scientists, sabotaged infrastructure, and now an open war of aggression, rather than abandon that position.
>The states that normalised are not being bombed. Hollow anti-imperialism is a communiquรฉ and a hashtag. Iranโs anti-imperialism has been measured in the blood of 168 Minab schoolgirls, in the bombing of its hospitals and oil depots.
>One can vehemently disagree with aspects of Iranโs domestic politics, but the question at hand is: where do we stand in the global struggle against imperialism? What side of the barricade are we on? Do we support a criminal war of aggression waged by the US and Israel, or we we support the resistance to that war? Do we support genocide in Gaza, or do we support the country that has been the Palestinian resistanceโs most consistent ally for decades?
>This letter dissolves the distinction entirely. It asks us to refuse the choice. But in a war of aggression there is no third position available, because only one party benefits from your neutrality โ and itโs not the party being bombed. The letter appears in a British newspaper, six months into a US-Israeli war, at the precise moment when Washington cannot win militarily and needs the political terrain softened. It recycles a familiar vocabulary โ sham trials, systematic torture, the targeting of minorities โ without sourcing, in the genre that has preceded and accompanied every single regime-change war. Whatever the signatories intended, that is the function it will serve: making the moral case for war.
>Angela Davis was imprisoned by a state that told the world she was a terrorist. Mumia Abu-Jamal is imprisoned by that state today. These are people who know exactly what happens when an empire manufactures the moral case for crushing its enemies. They would not have signed, half a century ago, a letter denouncing both blades of the scissors โ COINTELPRO on one side and the Black Panther Party on the other.
>Progressive and anti-war forces have a duty to support Iran against war, sanctions, regime change plots and destabilisation.Letter:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/ng-interactive/2026/aug/20/iran-political-prisonersclosing statement:
>The Iranian authorities must stop their inhumane practice of death and incarceration now. And the US and Israel must end their barbaric wars and brutal sanctions that knowingly devastate our communities.anti-anti-imperialist ack-tion.

When the analysis is that the empire is dying, it means that the empire is dying out and retreating. In fact if you try to tell leftists to live up to some social standard they're liable to just call you a fascist.this is mostly the wires getting crossed between the "left" of the 1700s (liberalism, enlightenment, individualism, anti-clericalism… in certain rare cases anti-slavery) getting confused with the turn that the workers movement took after marx (class-consciousness, unionization, syndicalism, revolution, etc.)
then the pendulum swung back towards the former, as the incomplete aspects of liberalism became completed (queer liberation, intesersectionality, etc)

>AIPAC promotes left-wing issues โฆ and gets attacked by the left
>Unfortunately, when the position of Israelโs democratically elected government is not on the left, AIPAC hasnโt lent its help. For instance, it has regularly pushed to insert support for a Palestinian state into otherwise pro-Israel legislation.
>AIPAC has also told members of U.S. Congress that it takes โno positionโ about Jewish rights in Judea and Samaria. Of course, โno positionโ makes it clear to legislators and others that the group is uncomfortable with asserting the rights of the Jewish people to live and build there

There's a lot of discussion about how we may end up with a "blue wave" led by DSA candidates which could be an improvement, but I worry that unless we manage to purge all the vestiges of "wokeness" ideology from these candidates and the political sphere as a whole , much of the electorate is going to to be led back to the right and then any progress made is going to be undone swiftly.
There's sort of a push now to talk about "Woke 1.0" to be all the obnoxious social stuff that some candidates are kinda sorta distancing themselves from but they seem to afraid to so because they know some DSA weirdo is going to scream about colonizer this and the candidate is a fascist now that because they don't give full throated support for whatever insane policy that person is yelling about on social media and trying to badger anyone who disagrees at meetings into submission by privilege this oppression that. The gubernatorial candidate who lost the primary very visibly was the one who tweeted about trying to "cancel thanksgiving" and pretty much had animosity toward most holidays and had a lot of wacky opinions. Darializa Avilia Chevalier's quotes on social media are becoming fodder not just for the right but for everyone concerned that voting for left-leaning economic policies come as a package deal with psychotic identity politics 'wokeness' social views.
While there are other lefty issues (ie third worldist, ML adjacent nonsense, some DSA faction revolutionary LARP etc) I think that if we can't shake being the "woke idpol insanity" people there's so much potential baggage that could compromise actual political progress. This can't be just wishy-washy "woke 1.0 was crazy" style rhetoric without statements that show a break from that way of thinking and acting. Of course the minute that happens the usual suspects on social media will cry that said candidate/official has "thrown X under the bus" or "went mask off" or whatever other garbage. These candidates need to be willing to piss off the people who think everything is problematic or that white men should not be in leadership positions or something something stolen land means laws shouldnt apply to brown or black people, or any number of other bits of crazy. This doesn't mean that you can't tackle problems that affect certain groups, but the particular policy and solution matters and more often than not broad, class based policy is not only much more popular and beneficial across varied identity groups, but can offer disproportionate benefits to those that have been negatively affected in the past.
We've got to deal with this shit soon or else its going to be too easy to portray all the crazy idpol stuff as a package deal with single payer public health care, restructuring taxation, workers' rights and ownership etc as baggage that is going to occlude all the rest of it.

This means the tech companies and police know when you drove to your mistresses's house, where the drug dealers and prostitutes are because everyone keeps showing up to their house at all times of day, where the lefties who attend protests live, even if they don't bring their phone, etc.

>>2898199>Where does it end? Is it "woke" to say the US has a history of racism, homophobia, transphobia and misogyny? Is it woke when a candidate states how that has affected them growing up? a few years ago they asked associates of florida governor ron desantis to define woke for a court case:
<Asked what โwokeโ means more generally, [Desantisโ General Counsel Ryan] Newman said โit would be the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.โSo that's it. Woke means any belief that systemic injustice exists. That is how it has been legally defined in court cases surrounding the "Stop Woke" Act.
<inb4 no it's only when people go "kill whitey kill all cissies" Outside of legal precedent it basically means whatever people want it to mean, which is why it's a pointless buzzword that should be avoided at all costs if you want your conversation to continue making sense

Also you donโt live and China and cannot copy their model 1-1.
>>2898238Also Christianity has not been meaningfully opposed to usury for 500 years. And in any case they have always been fine with "interest" as long as it is not "usurious". This is why economists and philosophers debated for centuries over what the "natural" rate of interest was. Personally I don't think there is one, but I have noticed that if you give someone a 0% interest loan you actually lose money if there's inflation over the period of repayment. So you may as well peg it to inflation.

I know comparisons to Rome are made a lot, but isn't a post-America world just going to be a new Dark Ages? The hegemony collapses; local polities fight to form new states; culture is dispersed. The only difference is that there is no new Christianity to take the reins. No new ethos to discipline the peasants into a central - if divided church.
>>2898254Ring door bells use facial recognition and cops can just get a warrant for that shit. Itโs an extra step, sure, but itโs not like anyone couldnโt see this on the horizon if they were actually paying attention or cared. Obviously the flock situation is terrible but itโs only a concern now because it stepped on the toes of right libertarians when the canary in the coal mine was always there.
>>2898260>but isn't a post-America world just going to be a new Dark Ages? No
>>2898145>genuinely the greatest jdpon administration in human history<JD Vance wants to end the US dollar's position as a global reserve currency because he thinks it allows Americans to consume too much and do so too cheaply. On the one hand it is a good and necessary thing for US dollar hegemony to end, since it supports imperialism. It could also (if we were to organize and ready ourselves) intensify class struggle in the United States since austerity makes everyone worse off. What should give everyone pause is the idea that fascism is when the imperialist methods of coercion and oppression come home to the metropole. Also JD Vance does not want this for "JDPON" reasons, but for typical austerity reasons.
It is also a bit incoherent, since Trump says he wants to keep the dollar strong. I said this when he was first elected, but they cannot keep the dollar strong and also bring back the American export economy. To compete on the exports market, the dollar's purchasing power would have to die, and American wages would need to have less purchasing power, if not in the country, then globally. This means austerity, especially for those who like to leave the country for vacation
>>2898149>im not sure if i should be happy things are changing or worried that imperialists are capable of change>>2898151>Imperialists arenโt capable of changeCapitalist imperialism is very capable of change, both in itself as a system, since it adapts to survive, and externally, as a force which changes agrarian societies into industrial societies, and has actually been the driving force for political change the past 2 centuries. In a way, revolutions are reactions to the declining standards of living, loss of sovereignty, and increased political repression brought about by capitalist imperialism. Japan went from a literal feudal society with Samurai, lords, castles, etc. to a near-peer rival of the European superpowers during the Meiji restoration, all because America showed up and forced her markets open at gunpoint.
>>2898145Love this half assed thinking. No industrial policy, no subsidies, no nationalization. Just crash the dollar and what? Hope that a bunch of sweatshops spring up from the ground?
>>2898260The dark ages weren't that bad. some technological progress was lost but at the same time the big pagan slave empires of the iron age and late antiquity collapsed and were replaced by a more decentralized mode of production based on serfdom. this paved the way for the eventual rise of mercantilism, which laid the groundwork for capitalism. A post-US collapse might have a lower standard of living for imperial core dwellers, but a higher standard of living for everyone else. You would see a global equalization of consumption habits and production habits and spending habits and standard of living across the world. Everyone would begin to look like a "2nd world country" nations would be more sovereign and have more central planning, but there would also be more regional conflicts.
>>2898267yep. spam tariffs, crash dollar, let invisible hand do the rest. they cannot plan, because that would be socialism with american characteristics.
>>2898199What is the point of constructing such a strawman on multiple levels? The idea that anyone who objected to any form of politically correct rhetoric are people who "became nazis" and want "no women/transhumanists/muslims/browns" just isn't the case. The demographic of hardened "nazis" with ultra reactionary social views of their own are smaller and inflexible barring a long term ideological realignment. No, we're talking about a much larger group of people (though it is worth noting that a large cadre of the left online in recent years seem to claim anyone is a nazi who says things they don't like online, so their estimation is suspect at best) who just find either more unwise policies, or simply are put off by obnoxious rhetoric. Many of these are problems the candidates create for themselves and/or by their party, and while the opposition can exploit the weakness they dont need people to become nazis, they just need for them to stay home and not vote, stick to the milquetoast corpo-dem, or the like
Lets not pretend that this is only a handful of people on Tumblr and nothing ever reached farther, or that it was only the most extreme "die cis-scum" bullshit. Harris didn't spend a lot of time talking about transhumanists, but the perception that Dems as a whole were basically captured by that sphere of "stunning and brave, no dissent or discussion allowed" idpol, had people focusing on that bit. Much of this was because there was insufficient pushback to the more insane takes. There wasn't nearly enough "Everyone gets to make their own medical decisions with their doctors, but we can have good faith discussions about a number of social issues and questions", instead of "If you don't agree with whatever increasingly extreme viewpoint we favor, you're an evil bigot and you're literally killing people" Likewise, more recently the Hong primary failed on her repeated tweets and clips about Thanksgiving and other holidays, self flagellation about "proximity to whiteness" having a white son, and other crazy. Many of these were older tweets but when asked about them now she couldn't even say "You know what I was stressed and venting, and no I don't actually want to cancel thanksgiving etc", but rather nodded to the wokescoldy types. So it cost an election.
There's also other examples more recently but the issue is if people feel like that you have to take the crazy as a package deal, then it doesn't take a nazi to become disenchanted, especially if after a win instead of locking down and focusing on broad political projects with concrete benefit, they use their opportunity to be obnoxious so that the vast majority who aren't entirely in line with whatever wokescoldy viewpoint, will just want the preachy nonsense to stop. This is not some great mystery , we've seen it play out already. Yelling ACAB and talking about abolishing prisons, without being able to explain a comprehensive policy alternative (or for that matter any sort of "We claim X, but we really mean Y by that. How dare you misrepresent us as claiming X!" foolishness) makes it look as though you're not a serious political actor and don't belong anywhere near the levers of power.
Its not hard to break with politically correct virtue signaling idpol focus and just offer well thought out, pragmatic plans for problems that affect the working class. This is something that can be widely beneficial and appealing, get supporters off their butts and invested in voting for your project, and lead to repeated victories with a cogent focus .
>>2898261Flock is still more a directly fascist merger of state and corporate power being used to directly circumvent civil rights. Ring could be obtained with a warrant but Flock is just creating a real-time mass surveillance network that feeds everything to the police 24/7 in an easily searched manner. Ring does not give the police a real time map of every location a person goes and is currently at. but yea, low key to the western left socialism is what you say, not what you do.
Literally one of the most common topics among organizers here in Florida who are organizing socialist policies, who are, in fact, socialists themselves, is how do you deal with the fact that this state is deeply, deeply miseducated, undereducated, and uneducated, to the point where words like socialism still carry the same sort of meaning that they did during the Red Scare, while at the same time finding the policies that you are advocating for to be more and more popular. Because people have to remember that the material conditions, the culture, the constituency, the people, the education system, all of these things are fundamentally different in Florida than they are in New York City, or Washington State, or California. It is a fundamentally different ecosystem. And so this is why she is carrying herself the way she has to. And yet there is so little leeway for her to do this when the same people who are so deeply critical of her moving the way she does in Florida, a state that prior to her victory was effectively written off by anyone in the places that are criticizing her, this same grace is not given to her, but it is given to people like Zoran Mondami, to people like AOC. AOC literally voted to send money to Israel. She said it was defensive aid. Angie Nixon has been pro-Palestine since basically day one. During her campaign, during the final weeks before the primary, she was actively raising money for Gaza. But I'm supposed to drop support for her because she quips on a news clip, "Oh, I'm a capitalist. I own a bookstore." Which is a completely logical statement if you have spent any time trying to organize in this state. If you have any skin in the game on the ground, which none of the people online who criticize this woman have, and they would rather accept an easy loss than struggle for a hard victory. Incredibly unpragmatic people who make up the left, who would rather remain pure than gain power.

>>2898531>>2898585I don't buy that it was an inside job, just yet.
All the evidence in the video is circumstantial, and probably it's more related that the bush administration wanted to shield itself from international law backlash, if shit were to go south.
for example the 'Osama Bin Laden was getting younger each time' it's stupid. by that date video recording technology was kinda shit. HD quality wasn't a mainstream thing.

the (I was thinking in the UK) London City is the most heavily surveilled city in the world with police cameras installed everywhere, but now they are everywhere in the us, even in sub-urban areas.
>>2898598motherfucker do you really think osama bin laden, a fucking failson from a real estate empire, the saudi equivalent of donald trump jr., a guy who worked with the USA to destroy the saur revolution in afghanistan, a guy from a family who had close friendships with the bushes going back to the late 70s, a guy who was interested in the petrodollar system… if you think THAT guy was like a brave maoist who just thought america needed a spanking for its war crimes… maybe you need to go back to school…
for fuck's sake, Gaddafi hated Bin Laden, pay fucking attentionlike this was a false flag used as a pretext to kill millions, not "revenge" for anything, but actually the beginning of yet more imperialist oppression. like if you cannot explain the fundamental question of why afghanistan, iraq, libya, syria, yemen, somalia, and pakistan got attacked for what a bunch of saudi wahaabists who hate socialism and have a suspicious history of working with the CIA did… then you're either ignorant or you have an interest in covering that up.
>>2898598anyone who says "america isn't smart enough to do [shit america has been doing for decades]" is either a glowie covering up american war crimes, or a little kid who is so addicted to ragebaiting the fat americans that he forgot to reckon whether he's revising history to do so.

>>2898600I need more evidence than that. so far no one has provided a definitive smoking gun.
>>2898601I do know about operation cyclone. however the Taliban went full nationalist, and decided they had enough with the US. One evidence of that is when the Taliban took over Afghanistan, the Opium production was near to 0. When the US regime invaded it exploded to exponential growth, and again, the Taliban took over after the US humilliating retreat, and the production of Opium is again near to 0. And I don't have evidence, except correlation evidence, but I am sure the US decided to leave Afghanistan when near-to-synthetic opioids were developed. but the retreat was gradually, gradually shifting the narrative, because it was a political suicide to say 'hey we went to Afghanistan to eliminate the Taliban, but the we left the Taliban there', so it took to the WSJ papers to come out and say that the war was costing trillions of dollars, with corruption everywhere, making a case, not for justice and prosecution of the responsible, but for leaving Afghanistan.

>>2898610is he related to Mark Levin lol
>>2898605The Taliban didn't do it, but the Taliban founder, Mullah Omar, was a mujahideen fighter who fought during the era of Operation Cyclone and received funds and assistance by the Pakistanis that received the money from operation cyclone.
That's why it's relevant. You are the one mentioning operation cyclone, when it produced the Taliban in the end.
>>2898616you keep introducing more and more confusion into this conversation and every single bit of confusion you introduce serves to cover up that the US government, with the help of some right wing Saudi fundamentalists, killed 3,000 of its own citizens and used that as a justification to kill millions of people in countries that did not attack America.
>America deserved 9/11irrelevant. America did 9/11 to itself and used it as an excuse to do even more horrible things to the world. focusing on whether 9/11 was funny or deserved can only serve as a distraction from the crimes of the US government and its comprador allies in the middle east.
>Osama Bin Laden was actually some kind of third worldistNope. Osama Bin Laden was a bourgeois right wing fundamentalist from a real estate empire with a close relationship with the Bush family. He helped overthrow socialism in Afghanistan, and even if he did kill 3,000 Americans as some kind of epic Maoist JDPON plot to get revenge on the American Treatlers for imperialism it didn't actually do anything to the US empire, it just made the US empire lash out at a bunch of people who literally had nothing to do with it, and mobilize this reactionary country for another crusade for the benefit of the oil cartels, the weapon cartels, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the US government. Anything else is cope cope cope.
>>2898619I am mentioning operation cyclone in contradiction to your narrative that Osama Bin Laden was this based third worldist who simply wanted revenge on America… because that narrative is literally oversimplified slop that serves the US government's narrative about 9/11 and covers up US crimes and connections.

And he was a crank because he figured he would do this by luring them into a guerrilla war in afghanistan the same way it worked with the soviets. It wasn't even tactical genius, that was just his answer to everything. During the first gulf war he told the king of Saudi Arabia to stiff the Americans and send him and a hundred mujahideen to fight a guerrilla war in Kuwait. In bare flat desert. Against the Iraqi army. The King said lmao I think I'll go with the Americans; and that's how the military bases got there.

Bush Sr. meeting with the Saudi Binladin Group and the Caryle Group the morning before 9/11, WTC 7, the data erasure at the Pentagon, the fact that the plane that targeted the president was the one that failed to hit its target, the fact that the countries which the US attacked after 9/11 were none of the countries the hijackers came from, the fact that the attackers were mostly Saudi Wahaabists that shared US geopolitical interests in the middle east as well as the petrodollar scheme, the fact that the US was able to justify 20 years of intervention based on the bloodlust the event created, the fact that America was able to trade 3000 of its own people for millions on Middle Easterners, the fact that this has finally culminated in the war with Iran that Israel has wanted since the 1980s… every single thing lines up with US interests and your reply is… what? "tee hee so funny that the US government killed millions in the middle east because at least 3000 treatlers got killed!"

>>2898995the us never needed any reason to invade any country.

get a grip.
>>2898313This is one of the problems - everything is framed as either one way or the other, and everyone either fits into one stereotype or the other. The issue is that there's a lot of gray area.
Are there some people who are already hard aligned to one viewpoint or the other who won't really change? Sure, but there are many, many more that are not as intractable. Earlier groups, both economic and social justice related figured this shit out - lots of gay rights groups for instance loudly condemned all of the "How dare you insult my queerness by saying maybe I shouldn't have a giant orgy or anonymous sex with multiple partners while AIDS is on the rise" . Every group or movement has jerks, but if the group doesn't pretty consistent state that the jerks are not emblematic of the group, then it has costs to the functionality. That's what happened with the Dems during the Harris election - they didn't manage to juggle saying "We unequivocally stand for rights, but that doesn't mean we are going to agree with every random wackjob online". They took the idea that "If we just shut up about it, maybe nobody will talk about it" but the idiots kept talking, and the fact they were shutting up was seen as a refusal to, fear of etc.. the jerks. The jerks kept talking, Harris and the focus-group tested campaign shut up, lots of people somewhere in the middle assumed that they were either unwilling or unable to break with the most obnoxious and thus were in agreement, controlled by etc that demographic and would be serving their interest.. but didn't want to give that appearance, which was of course offputting. There's a reason that the "Harris is for they/them, Trump is for you" was one of his more effective campaigns in purple/swing areas.
This "pandering to reactionaries" and "throwing under the bus" garbage is part of the problem. Doing either one would be saying 'You know what, if we get healthcare for everyone but lgbt, you can make being lgbt illegal" but nobody is doing that, nobody does anything even close to that. This exact group I'm talking about perceiving "Not being marketed and pandered to exclusively in the way we want, at every moment, means we're being sacrificed" is part of the problem. Its possible to say "Our platform maintains rights and healthcare for all people" without being afraid to say "No, of course we're not going take people without trial and force them into reeducation camps on accusation of deadnaming. There's a lot of stuff that's rude but is protected by the first amendment and we believe in that strongly. However, this is a good time to talk about the improved privacy laws for everyone that we plan etc". instead of replying "Well you know there's a lot of feelings of harm in certain communities about deadnaming and its a serious issue and deserves to have serious consequences etc" or something similar that sure as hell sounds like you agree with the wackjobs suggesting that making a trans person uncomfortable should mean the gulag, all because you're too afraid to ever criticize any person or group with a favored marginalized identity no matter how wrong they are on a given issue - that's the core of the "wokeness" issue. There's no actual reactionary pandering or bus throwing to be done, you stick to your same goddamn policies but you craft them to be independent of what the most psychotic people online may yell about.
Depending on what you consider a "chud" and why, none of this stuff may apply. If someone is some sort of Libertarian Party crypto evangelist who thinks all regulations and taxes are bad that is not really the issue here. Opposition to "wokeness" bit is not for getting opposite hardcore social or economic people to vote en masse, but for the large amount of people who fall somewhere between the most radical wokest wokes that ever woked and the general detached centrist or those who are just generally feeling that all politics is crooked and won't help them etc. Those people can be very easily affected by something like "wokeness" where, unlike two people arguing about the minutia of an economic policy and its ten year outcome, are easier to perceive the effectiveness. An easy example, how many people got pulled to the right thanks to post-GamerGate shit because one side was saying "Your video games are very problematic and you're problematic for liking them. " and the other only had to say "Well, yeah it sucks the other side wants to censor video games you like. Do you know what else they want to do? Destroy white masculinity and society, did you know that 13% of a population creates 50% of the crime…" and so down the pipeline they go. Part of this was because there were insufficient people at the time saying "You want to expand the kind of games that are made for different demographics? That's fine. However, we abhor censorship and there's nothing wrong with what you like to play now or developers making that". Getting into the whole shitstorm would be an entirely separate post, but suffice it to say there weren't enough people back then to stand up to both the political correctness brigade while also warning against falling right into the trap of being exactly what they want you to be AND warn people about falling into alt-right pipelines simply because they're willing to tell you that the idpol ones are wrong on gaming etc.
So ultimately there are much larger more nuanced groups than simply one side being heckin chud nazis and the other being perfect progressive ideologues who are right about how bad an evil white male you are or whatever else it is.

Communists often think too highly of themselves, and like to think unless the right is reacting to them specifically then it doesn't matter. But the danger from the right has never been solely driven by that. The right can spiral from a wider perceived threat to the social order which is all tantamount to "communism" to them. It doesn't require the PSL become a big thing, but what happens is that the PSL gets hauled before a grand jury, has to turn over all their communications, and any leftist traveling to Cuba gets grabbed and interrogated once landing back in the U.S. and is subject to criminal charges for staying in a hotel just because the right is spiraling and is trying to repress everybody.

The infrastructure being built now is not designed for protests. It is designed for sustained, distributed urban conflict. The establishment of mobile anti-unrest military units, the expansion of DHS operational authority, and the strategic repositioning of ICE assets are not reactive measures, they are preemptive.
The response to the last major wave of unrest in 2020 revealed the limits of the current system. Police were overwhelmed, and could not deal with the movements of a decentralized, distributed uprising. The National Guard deployed late, passively, and with limited effectiveness. The reactionary base could not hold the streets. The state was blindsided by the speed and coordination of the left, all without a central command. They have been building a response.
Our research suggests that a crucial moment is nearing. The spark that turns preparation into deployment is likely to be a single act of public state or reactionary violence.
When that happens, the state will not respond with negotiation. It will respond with the infrastructure it has been quietly assembling. The coming conflict will not be a repeat of the past. It will be more organized, more violent, and more sustained conflict.
>>2899060Those things are foolish, but they aren't actually conterproductive to getting ICE to stop what they're doing. Punching some loudmouth on the other hand, offers no real benefit and leads to likely detriment if it enables "the no punching loudmouths and every lefty is an enemy of the state act" or some such
>>2899070The internet's finest child soldier, or maybe just a child's mind that can't think beyond immediate gratification I could replace "neo-nazi" with any group the right hates and you'd sound exactly like one of them.
>They're a BAD don't you see, we need to punch BAD who say BAD things because BAD its a waste of time. These types were given far less credence years ago when they were on some random block yelling about their future for white children and everyone else just ignored them. They gain support when they can play the victim. That's how they work (and many other groups for that matter). They had less adherents in society when everyone knew they were just ranting on Stormfront and having their little meetings and marches, which everyone just ignored, or told them they sucked, and they lost power for sheer inadequacy. You're giving them exactly what they want and nothing is more cucked than that.
>>2899080I'm sorry I called the other guy the Internet's favored child soldier, clearly that should go to you, basement revolutionary. Its fun to hear people scream about historical materialism yet somehow you didn't learn from what happened in the rise of literal nazis or red terror or other forms of authoritarianism and chose the most stupid possible lesson instead.
Even if it was a great mossad plot or whatever, you're playing right into their hands. Spider-man there gets an assault charge and his name in the papers where the little people get to see he's exactly the "dangerous radical" that whatever proposed act is designed to quell. If you're really afraid of additional violence, then why possibly step on their trap card and cede both public sympathy and legal standing to people you can see are playing for it ? None of this is smart, this is a waste of time and LARPing about revolutonary this whenever someone you don't like gets punched doesn't mean "and then they all rose up" is coming. Fuck, that is often the death knell of any project to require people overextend themselves and then "the people will rise". Historically, no they dont, f anything its the opposite - if you don't already have them on your side, you don't move otherwise you are FUCKED.
THat's even before suggesting that some random blowhard opening his mouth deserves to get shot. You want to move along to that level of discourse, you better hope you're ready for war because they're far more ready than you'll ever be, but the problem is those zealots that are ready to read theory and die on the street for no gains at all often get others killed who wanted nothing to do with any of this. This is laughable. Punching some guy you don't like isn't being some great revolutionary, especially when its likely you, and the people you support will bear the massive consequences for doing so. I've seen more generations of your type than most of this forum come and go, and they mostly bring ruin to themselves but not without massive collateral damage; so is the way with all true believers who think they're great revolutionaries and put zeal before brains.

But expect to see a lot of "anonymous" accusations of corruption, misuse of public funds, etc which is the usual angle they use against black candidates who don't toe the zionist line.
>>2899273every leftist space has really be harping on her quip about being a capitalist
which is funny because that quip is being played on the news a lot here, locally, because every attack add is attacking her for being a socialist, so they play that clip and talk about her book store. Socialism is a dirty word here in Florida, especially if you're trying to win a longshot election.
If socialism is what you do, and not just your rhetoric, then Angie is incredibly socialist, former union organizer, staunch anti-imperalist who's clearly politically savvy while maintaining her morals.
There's also the racist angle that no one wants to admit but is absolutely there. Her rallies? Mostly black. Her base? Black working class. Who does the DSA lack? That demographic. Instead of seeing this as a chance to coalition build and get that group on our team, a lot of white leftists are going to be that much harsher with their judgement. Someone like AOC has basically done nothing in comparsion to the real material support Nixon has done for Palestine. She was raising money for Gaza with Riasb literally a week before the primary. AOC gets the benefit of the doubt from the same spaces that are consistently attacking Nixon.
>but it's just electoralism it's a waste of timeif the momentum of this allows me and hundreds of other activated organizers in this state to door knock and talk to the disenfranchised directly about what a socialist america would look like, then it's worth the trouble.
cannot stress how repressive things are in florida, I mean I've got my case and the police absolutely target organizers! Straight up this campaign is needed to give everyone something to align on that we can win. I've been writing a proposal for my DSA chapter to provide real material support for her, from door knocking to phone banking.
>but but she called herself a capitalistyeah she runs a book store, that's a small business brother she is a capitalist and she was also a union organizer so I can assure you that she knows her class position, but we all have to operate under capitalism! where are you meeting up to discuss praxis if not the radical bookstore? just seems like a non issue.
>but but she's just a democratpeople like her will force the zionist centrist dems to break the DSA off the Dem party, the DSA will not be the one to do the dirty break, that's why she and the DNC chair got into a yelling match because she's not getting cucked like Bernie
>but but she condemned hamas on tv after the primaryokay, those are w o r d s, and her actions speak louder than those words. politicians lie all the time, why can't our people lie? fuck that honest abe shit, play to win.

almost like he was never serious about anything but aesthetics.
Anyone mad about spider-man attacking Jake Lang is a cuck. Violence isn't alienating, Americans love violence. The working-class who live in conditions that demand revolution the most already live in extreme realities of violence, political, economic, and even social. I had over 40 fights in high school, got jumped constantly growing up. So did other kids around me. Do you think people who grow up like this, as adults, have no place in the revolution? Do you think they want to abide by your small-town or liberal civility? The workers love violence, and when they see people utilizing violence successfully against things that make them feel oppressed or threatened, they celebrate it. Even non-political violence is quite normal in the USA's culture, celebrated, and enjoyed. Everyone loves a good fight. Our construction workers will shoot you like the thugs in Europe would. America is violent, violence isn't alienating, it's currently misunderstood, and incohesive.

>>2899322>guy who signed Molotov-Ribbentrop Literally a fake secret protocol, first found by USA because of political conveniency.
>>2899377never heard that one before. the usual line i hear (and the one that makes a lot more sense given the historical evidence) is that the soviets were buying time to move factories east, because they knew operation barbarossa was inevitable, while jointly invading poland with nazi germany in order to move west the eventual frontline with germany, so that it would not be far into soviet territory. pretty smart. too bad it didn't work because hitler attacked earlier than was anticipated. also understandably expedient, considering stalin had tried and failed to make an anti-fascist alliance with the bourgeois nations of western europe prior to 1939, only for all of them to sign non aggresion pacts before moloto-ribbentrop was signed. Molotov-ribbentrop was actually the last one to be signed, long after other nations had done the same thing… your explanation doesn't really make much sense given what happened…
anyway popular front against fascism is a good thing, and the "social fascism" line was obsolete within a decade of it being employed by the comintern… which is why you see Stalin at Yalta alongside people far far to the right of social democrats.
