>Liberal point of view. We are at an age where there is a vast ontological change. The collective is beginning. We are starting to experience things as a collective, a class, not individuals.
>If you cannot put the proletariat before yourself you will never make it.
you know I agree people should be willing to sacrifice for the greater good, but at the same time this is not a common sentiment among leftists except when they want you to sacrifice for their benefit. you never see people saying "put the community before yourself" when it comes to things like mental health or socializing or cultivating a positive atmosphere with the people around you. I was having a convo with a friend about this today so it's still fresh on my mind forgive me for the tangent but it's kinda sad how leftists will preach all about "mutual aid" and "community" and "common good" right up until someone says hi to them on the street and then suddenly they'll run to Twitter to complain about strangers talking to them. Or if a friend confides in them about having mental health issues or being lonely, depressed, etc they'll just say "bro that sucks you should go to therapy" and just completely dodge your feelings. People will talk about "making sacrifices for the people you love" or "preaching tolerance" and then the moment their parents or friends or someone close to them says something they disagree with they just pull out the zoomer silent treatment and hold a grudge for the rest of their life. So many fucking people have been socialized in a completely capitalist liberal mindset to treat human relationships purely in terms of "what do I get out of this?" and it's so fucking depressing. Makes me wish I had the kind of sense of community they have in third world countries, but I'm also self-aware that those communities also come with all their own problems. I'm just ultimately pretty wary of any leftist that preaches "communal living" or "mutual aid" these days because they're usually the same type that are extremely quick to create enemies over minor microaggressions.

This is a bit retarded to bring up here but I was recently reading "discourse" in the vtuber space where a bunch of people were getting mad at strangers on the internet for "trying to find a girlfriend at conventions" or "trying to find a girlfriend in vtuber/anime spaces" as if it's sexpest behavior, and it just so fundamentally pissed me off how socially reclusive people have become even when it comes to overtly social activities like going to conventions. It reminds me of my own attempts to make friends(and meet women) in leftist spaces and how completely avoidant everyone is. You can have 99 things in common with someone at a left-wing meetup and they'll still find an excuse to escape the situation when you strike up a convo and try to move beyond smalltalk. It's fucking depressing bro.

sorry for shitting up usapol I just had to get this frustration off my chest.

Fuhrerbunker construction is back

https://time.com/6212698/nuclear-missiles-icbm-triad-upgrade/

>If a piece of equipment breaks inside Captain Kaz โ€œDexterโ€ Moffettโ€™s underground command center at the Alpha-01 Missile Alert Facility, itโ€™s marked with a paper tag that reads either โ€œwarningโ€ or โ€œdanger.โ€ A few of those are hanging in this cramped capsule buried about 70 ft. below the high plains of eastern Wyoming. One is stuck to the shut-off valves that control water flow in the event of an emergency. Thereโ€™s another one on a ventilation hatch. The entire command capsule itself is jury-rigged on top of steel stilts because the shock-absorber system, which was first installed in 1963 to survive a thermonuclear blast, is now inoperative. So thereโ€™s a tag for Air Force maintenance teams to fix that too.

>Then there are malfunctions that arenโ€™t marked. Moffettโ€™s computer monitorโ€”the one that enables him to keep watch on a fleet of 10 nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs)โ€”has a flashing glitch on the bottom of the screen. His classified phone line has such a weak connection that he can barely hear fellow Air Force officers who are commanding more than 100 other nuclear missiles spread across 9,600 sq. mi. โ€œYou can hear them pretty clearly if you stand on an angle, on one leg, and jump up and down,โ€ Moffett says, smiling. โ€œItโ€™s all part of the job. We spend a lot of time saying to ourselves, โ€˜Hey, how are we going to make this work today?โ€™โ€

>Walking into Moffettโ€™s capsule at Alpha-01 is like walking into the past. Banks of turquoise electronics racks, industrial cables, and analog controls have been down here since the U.S. military installed the equipment decades ago. Look closely at the machines and youโ€™ll find names of manufacturers like Radio Corp. of America, defunct since 1987, and Hughes Aircraft Co., defunct since 1997. Some systems have been updated over the years, but these advances are unrecognizable to anyone who lived through the personal-computer revolution, let alone the internet age. The entire ICBM fleet runs on less computational power than whatโ€™s now found inside the smartphone in your pocket. When something breaks, the Air Force maintenance crews pull parts from warehouse shelves, pay a contractor to make them to specifications, or even occasionally scavenge them from military museums.

https://www.kunm.org/local-news/2025-11-04/nuclear-arms-race-aging-los-alamos

>Now, the laboratory is under increasing pressure to meet the federal governmentโ€™s ambitions to upgrade the nationโ€™s nuclear arsenal. The $1.7 trillion project includes everything from revitalizing missile silos burrowed deep in five states, to producing new warheads that contain the pits, to arming new land-based missiles, bomber jets and submarines.

>But the overall modernization effort is years behind schedule, with costs ballooning by the billions, according to the Congressional Budget Office. In 2018, Congress charged Los Alamos with making an annual quota of 30 pits by 2026, but by last year it had produced just one approved for the nuclear stockpile. (Officials have not disclosed whether more have been made since then.)

Bessentโ€™s bond market intervention falls flat as turbulence continues

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessentโ€™s announcement that the Treasury is going to double its buyback of long-dated US bonds from $2 billion to $4 billion has fallen flat. After an initial fall in yields, they have started to rise again and are back near the multi-year highs recorded earlier this week.

This was despite Bessent saying in an interview with the business channel CNBC that the buyback could be more than the $4 billion that he initially announced. The general sentiment in the market is that the growing bond market turbulence is not going to be calmed by such interventions because more fundamental issuesโ€”above all, the rise of US debt to $40 trillionโ€”are involved.

There are growing concerns that the US is in a โ€œdoom loopโ€ because of the rise in interest payments to more than $1 trillion a year, creating a situation where the government must borrow money just to pay the interest bill on past debt.

In the words of one analyst cited by the Wall Street Journal, the Bessent intervention was a โ€œband aidโ€ and did not โ€œreally fix the problem.โ€

Another analyst told the Financial Times: โ€œWe donโ€™t really think this [intervention] can succeed in isolation. Interventions such as this look like a sticking plaster.โ€

Bessentโ€™s response to the marketโ€™s thumbs down on his initiative was to try to bluff and bluster his way through the developing crisis. He told CNBC that the market had โ€œgotten a little ahead of itself,โ€ and the Trump administration would be setting out a plan to reduce the budget deficit in the coming days.

โ€œWe believe there are many underlying factors that the market is not looking at,โ€ he said.

There was a โ€œvery good chanceโ€ that the deficit had peaked and that tariff income and a crackdown on fraud would lift government revenues.

Neither of these claims will be regarded as in any way credible. On the issue of tariffs, the Treasury is in the process of refunding large US corporations the billions of dollars they paid under Trumpโ€™s โ€œreciprocal tariffsโ€ imposed in April 2025 but which were struck down by the Supreme Court as illegal earlier this year. The total amount to be handed back is estimated at $160 billion or more.

โ€œAll weโ€™re trying to do is get people to focus on the fundamentals and not trade the headlines in a quiet period in a thin market,โ€ Bessent told CNBC, as if the problems in bond markets were a mere technical glitch.

The driving force of the turbulence, however, is that finance capital is focusing on the โ€œfundamentals,โ€ namely the ever-worsening financial position of US capitalism.

Reporting on the continued selloff of bonds yesterday, the Financial Times said it underscored โ€œthe deep concern among investors over the USโ€™s mounting public debt burden and whether policymakers will be able to contain the eruption of inflation triggered by President Donald Trumpโ€™s war in Iran.โ€

That assessment was based on the comments of analysts cited in the article. Joe Brusulas, chief economist at the professional services firm RSM US, said that โ€œwithout a shift to fiscal consolidationโ€ to be achieved through higher taxes and a slower pace of government spending, โ€œthe buybacks will prove to be only temporary.โ€

Analysts at the global Japanese banking and investment firm MUFG said the Treasury was โ€œlacking a strategic planโ€ and warned that its intervention might worsen the problems rather than resolve them.

โ€œThe danger now following this announcement โ€ฆ is that it proves counter-productive and leads to reduced appetite for either holding US assets or reduced appetite for exposure to the US dollar, or both,โ€ they said.

Kit Jukes, head of global foreign exchange strategy at Sociรฉtรฉ Gรฉnรฉrale, doubted whether the intervention would hold rates down and said that as the debt rose and deficits remained high, the willingness to buy US assets โ€œwill be a growing issue.โ€

Such assessments have far-reaching implications not only for the US but for the global financial system, because the U.S. Treasury market has functioned as a safe haven in times of financial stress.

This is now being called into question, as noted by Wall Street Journal columnist Greg Ip. The upward shift in bond yields had a number of drivers, he wrote, including โ€œstickyโ€ inflation and increasing AI-linked corporate borrowing.

โ€œLurking in the background, though, is a more troubling possibility. Treasuries, long the worldโ€™s preferred โ€˜safeโ€™ asset, are looking less safe,โ€ and in moments of stress, โ€œthey donโ€™t behave like a safe haven.โ€

This is because the US has โ€œflooded the market with additional debt,โ€ especially since the pandemic, and โ€œthere is no sign that the flood will abate.โ€

The turbulence in the bond market is extending into Wall Street trading. Yesterday, quant hedge funds, which use statistics, historical data and algorithms to make their bets, suffered what was characterised as their worst day in two years.

One of the factors was the near tripling of the shares of Moderna after it announced successful trials for the treatment of skin cancer. This hit traders who had shorted its shares, expecting they would fall.

Summing up the situation, one hedge fund trader told the Financial Times: โ€œVolatility is exceptional, so options makers are losing money left and right. The market is rotating every day, so what makes money today is almost always down tomorrow.โ€

The volatility follows what has been described as a โ€œbrutal July,โ€ in which AI-related chip stocks fell sharply, leading to the collapse of the hedge fund Situational Awareness and delivering a loss to the major Wall Street trading firm Jane Street of $15 billion in a single month.

Wall Street was also hit by the announcement by Walmart, the largest US retailer, that its sales growth for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending July 31 was the lowest in six years. Its shares dropped 9.2 percent, with the Wall Street Journal noting that its sales data showed โ€œa string of data suggesting that consumer spendingโ€”the key engine of US economic growthโ€”is softening somewhat.โ€

america will never collapse suddenly. america will never enter existential economic crises first. Why? Because theres a defenseless, wealthy imperialist state just north called Canada ready to be looted and gutted at a moments notice. Sort of. If the US just wanted to occupy Canada they could take the big cities very easily. If the US wanted to conquer all of Canada's territory it would be nearly impossible given how much land there is and how much of it is totally unlivable and would be perfect ground for a rural insurgency. The Canadian armed forces are aware of this and if America ever decides to invade we'd end up with a Canadian Jihad lobbing rockets and drones from Newfoundland into the border cities.

and guess what Canada has all those things through decades of military alliance with the US. it's not like the Canadian military is some 3rd world warlord PMC. they have drones. they have a navy. they have aircraft. they have pretty much the same capability as Ukraine when it comes to repelling a much stronger military force, and I predict the situation would be even worse for the Americans because Ukraine is much easier to wage war in.

of course, as I said it would be trivially easy to take Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, etc and effectively overthrow the Canadian government within 24 hours. it would just be nearly impossible to project force outside the border provinces.

people think the US military is able to take over any place on earth by just bombing it, but they were only able to take over Venezuela because the Venezuelan government threw Maduro to the wolves. a real conflict between Canada and the US would basically just be Canada's military bombing American cities to dust while retreating into the wilderness as the US struggles to occupy Toronto and pretends they "won" because they drone striked the PM.

What would even be the point in formally annexing Canada or Greenland? We already have the military bases and the markets of both are already open

>>2897670
It is just cope. I understand the argument with Venezuela but Canada and Greenland makes no sense except just being excited by a map change

>>2897666
im not arguing that. but americas been prepping canada (and mexico) for annexation for decades too with policies like NAFTA which scrapped independent energy policy that previous prime minsters had tried to implement. it's all one grand scheme, you can't forget the juiciest target of the bunch, canada is where all the imperialist money is, venezuela is poor and has nothing that can used to prop up the dying empire. If america took canada tomorrow 3/4 of the worlds mining company headquarters would be based here, exactly what would be needed to compete with China

>>2897675

The state of Texas alone has 31 million people compared to Canada's 31 million total. Since most of the people involved are americans (except for walden bello), I am posting this here.

>The Guardian has published an open letter to Iranโ€™s political prisoners, signed by Angela Davis, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Rashid Khalidi, Robin DG Kelley, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Judith Butler, Walden Bello, among others.

>These are not people to be dismissed lightly. Several have given their lives to the anti-imperialist and Black liberation movements, and one of them is writing from inside a US prison. I take no pleasure in disagreeing with them. But the letter is wrong, and plays an objectively harmful role.

>Its central image is the โ€œtwo blades of a scissorsโ€: the Islamic Republic on one side, US and Israeli imperialism on the other, with the Iranian people crushed between them. It inserts a symmetry between the worldโ€™s major imperialist power and an anti-imperialist state that has never invaded another country, and which has stood consistently with the oppressed from Palestine to South Africa to Venezuela.

>The load-bearing phrase is this: โ€œwe reject the false binary of imperialism and hollow anti-imperialism.โ€ Exactly how โ€œhollowโ€ is Tehranโ€™s anti-imperialism? ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

>For four decades, while almost every Arab government made its accommodation with Washington and Tel Aviv, Iran armed, funded and sustained the Palestinian resistance. It refused normalisation when the Abraham Accords put enormous inducements on the table. It has absorbed forty years of sanctions, assassinations of scientists, sabotaged infrastructure, and now an open war of aggression, rather than abandon that position.

>The states that normalised are not being bombed. Hollow anti-imperialism is a communiquรฉ and a hashtag. Iranโ€™s anti-imperialism has been measured in the blood of 168 Minab schoolgirls, in the bombing of its hospitals and oil depots.

>One can vehemently disagree with aspects of Iranโ€™s domestic politics, but the question at hand is: where do we stand in the global struggle against imperialism? What side of the barricade are we on? Do we support a criminal war of aggression waged by the US and Israel, or we we support the resistance to that war? Do we support genocide in Gaza, or do we support the country that has been the Palestinian resistanceโ€™s most consistent ally for decades?

>This letter dissolves the distinction entirely. It asks us to refuse the choice. But in a war of aggression there is no third position available, because only one party benefits from your neutrality โ€“ and itโ€™s not the party being bombed.

The letter appears in a British newspaper, six months into a US-Israeli war, at the precise moment when Washington cannot win militarily and needs the political terrain softened. It recycles a familiar vocabulary โ€“ sham trials, systematic torture, the targeting of minorities โ€“ without sourcing, in the genre that has preceded and accompanied every single regime-change war. Whatever the signatories intended, that is the function it will serve: making the moral case for war.

>Angela Davis was imprisoned by a state that told the world she was a terrorist. Mumia Abu-Jamal is imprisoned by that state today. These are people who know exactly what happens when an empire manufactures the moral case for crushing its enemies. They would not have signed, half a century ago, a letter denouncing both blades of the scissors โ€“ COINTELPRO on one side and the Black Panther Party on the other.

>Progressive and anti-war forces have a duty to support Iran against war, sanctions, regime change plots and destabilisation.

closing statement:
>The Iranian authorities must stop their inhumane practice of death and incarceration now. And the US and Israel must end their barbaric wars and brutal sanctions that knowingly devastate our communities.

anti-anti-imperialist ack-tion.

>they wont stop at canada, america will just do a molotovribbintrop and split the decaying canada/europe between them and Russia
<The US and Russia will make the greatest deal ever and split Europe when the opposite is actually occurring
The US is barely able to tardwrangle Israel and Turkey let alone being able to divide Europe. When the analysis is that the empire is dying, it means that the empire is dying out and retreating. Europe is one of the places where the retreat is occurring, which is also why there is an obsession with making the Western Hemisphere American-dominant because of the retreat

It's not a novel observation but the right calls themselves individualists but are quite collective (adhere to this culture, these roles, speak this language, follow this religion) while the left calls themselves collectivists but are incredibly individualistic (do whatever makes you happy). In fact if you try to tell leftists to live up to some social standard they're liable to just call you a fascist.

>empires collapse slowly
Pre-industrial society moved at a slow pace. Industrial empires collapse rapidly. The British, German, and Japanese empires fell quickly. Few people saw the Soviet collapse coming.

>>2897918
anon was the USSR an empire?

>>2897918
The British Empire was the first globe-spanning industrial empire, and collapsed slowly

this is mostly the wires getting crossed between the "left" of the 1700s (liberalism, enlightenment, individualism, anti-clericalism… in certain rare cases anti-slavery) getting confused with the turn that the workers movement took after marx (class-consciousness, unionization, syndicalism, revolution, etc.)

then the pendulum swung back towards the former, as the incomplete aspects of liberalism became completed (queer liberation, intesersectionality, etc)

the "right" in America today is actually quite torn between its pro-business libertarian/ancap individualists and its trad, religious, nationalist halves. The latter has a lot more strength still.

>collapsed slowly
The British Empire was doomed by the early 20th century and WWI sealed it. Late Victorian Era was the peak of the British Empire and it collapsed from there when they started being in debt to the US after WWI. So Britain had really half a century of dominance before they started panicking about the German Empire and its industrial capacity that eventually crashed the British

>>2897928
when the USA collapses do you think it will look more like britain or like nazi germany

You're in multiple ML Discord groups. Just because they nodded at doxing you as a way to passive-aggressively demand you do something doesn't mean you're not aligned with them by sharing this. They asked you to post here because you were a weak link in these chats, they saw you conversating about leftypol on discord you moron. They're cowards who run niche tor OSes like TAILS and won't post here themselves when traffic is banned. That's likely because they're digital criminals and scammers (they sent houdini like 1200 through some girl), security conscious from drug market involvement. Most leftists are college students and don't know about this stuff unless they've been criminals or hackers. Be careful even talking to these people. You do one thing for them and it will turn into another. You'll be posting for life. I suggest deleting this and deleting discord. once you abide by this cult then you end up having to bend to their every request. they do it online and irl.

and it's goneeee. Good boy you don't want to end up their little pawn. That paranoid anarchist/Maoist Wikipedia for gang stalking is getting shut down as we speak, they secured their servers, now we just isolate the campaign to link it to others. It's like a virus that never quite took off. That's why they're so salty hitting our computers, trying to get randos to re-link it here for them. They're desperate to get this schizphranic leftist gang-stalking Wikipedia more traffic and contributors. So far it's just a bunch of shady anarchists from south europe, and a few autistic maoists that just cant seem to spread the word. I wonder why ;) Juche lost, by the way. Just in case anyone was keeping score.
