The DSA is not viable

Regarding the popularity uptick of the DSA, let us recall some facts.

The RSDLP as a whole also consisted of Bolsheviks, Mensheviks, the Jewish Bund (from 1906), the Polish Social Democracy (SDKPiL), the Latvian Social Democracy, and smaller groups. Estimates for the total party are approximate but generally agreed as follows:
<1905
Perhaps 20,000–30,000 total members. Bolsheviks numbered ~8,400; the Menshevik faction likely held a similar or slightly larger number. The Bund, not yet formally reunited, had its own mass membership (around 30,000) but was not fully part of the RSDLP until 1906.
<1906
After the 4th (Unity) Congress in Stockholm, the reunited party (including the Bund) reached roughly 70,000–80,000 members. Bolsheviks themselves reported ~13,000.
<1907
Peak membership: around 150,000. At the 5th (London) Congress the main components reported:
Bolsheviks: ~46,100
Mensheviks: ~38,000–40,000
Jewish Bund: ~33,000
Polish Social Democracy (SDKPiL): ~25,000
Latvian Social Democracy: ~13,000
<1908–1912
Collapse to a few thousand. Police repression destroyed the mass organisations. By 1909–1910 the entire RSDLP (all factions together) probably numbered no more than 5,000–10,000 active members, operating in tiny underground cells. The Bolsheviks were a diminished fraction of that, while the Mensheviks and the Bund likewise suffered decimation. When the Bolsheviks formally broke away in 1912 to form their own party, the remaining “RSDLP (Menshevik)” organisation was also very small – comparable to the Bolsheviks’ 5,000–10,000. The Bolsheviks, for example
Petrograd: 8,000 (1907) → 3,000 (1908)
Moscow: 500 → 150 (1909)
Yekaterinburg: 1,070 → 250
Ivanovo-Voznesensk: 2,000 → 600
<1912 - 1917.
Data unavailable. It's estimated that the party's size before 1914 was between 5,000 and 10,000
<Feb 1917
23,600. Just before the February Revolution, the party was a small, disciplined underground organization.
<April 1917
79,000.
<July 1917
240.000
<Oct 1917
up to 400.000

The nucleus of the Party will be built in the next two years and it will come from the DSA. You can help this process, or you can stop it. Stopping it means going back to sects and irrelevancy. Helping means ending the duopoly and social-democratic reformist illusion of the largest socialist movement currently existing and creating a large, well-organized and well-connected communist fraction, which will, in few more years, be ready to call for dual power.

https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1920/lwc/ch07.htm
>Parliamentarianism has become “historically obsolete”. That is true in the propaganda sense. However, everybody knows that this is still a far cry from overcoming it in practice. Capitalism could have been declared—and with full justice—to be “historically obsolete” many decades ago, but that does not at all remove the need for a very long and very persistent struggle on the basis of capitalism. Parliamentarianism is “historically obsolete” from the standpoint of world history, i.e., the era of bourgeois parliamentarianism is over, and the era of the proletarian dictatorship has begun. That is incontestable. But world history is counted in decades. Ten or twenty years earlier or later makes no difference when measured with the yardstick of world history; from the standpoint of world history it is a trifle that cannot be considered even approximately. But for that very reason, it is a glaring theoretical error to apply the yardstick of world history to practical politics.

>Marxism alone has precisely and correctly defined the relation of reforms to revolution, although Marx was able to see this relation only from one aspect — under the conditions preceding the first to any extent permanent and lasting victory of the proletariat, if only in one country. Under those conditions, the basis of the proper relation was that reforms are a by-product of the revolutionary class struggle of the proletariat. Throughout the capitalist world this relation is the foundation of the revolutionary tactics of the proletariat — the ABC, which is being distorted and obscured by the corrupt leaders of the Second International and the half-pedantic and half-finicky knights of the Two-and-a-Half International.

>Before the victory of the proletariat, reforms are a by-product of the revolutionary class struggle. After the victory (while still remaining a “by-product” on an international scale) they are, in addition, for the country in which victory has been achieved, a necessary and legitimate breathing space when, after the utmost exertion of effort, it becomes obvious that sufficient strength is lacking for the revolutionary accomplishment of some transition or another. Victory creates such a “reserve of strength” that it is possible to hold out even in a forced retreat, hold out both materially and morally. Holding out materially means preserving a sufficient superiority of forces to prevent the enemy from inflicting utter defeat. Holding out morally means not allowing oneself to become demoralised and disorganised, keeping a sober view of the situation, preserving vigour and firmness of spirit, even retreating a long way, but not too far, and in such a way as to stop the retreat in time and revert to the offensive.

— V.I. Lenin, “The Importance of Gold Now and After the Complete Victory of Socialism” (November 1921)

https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1905/jan/24c.htm
>“The Social-Democrats (i.e. RSDLP) long ago predicted that such would be the inevitable outcome of the Zubatov movement in our country. The legalisation of the working-class movement, they said, would definitely benefit us Social-Democrats. It would draw certain sections of the workers into the movement, especially the backward sections; it would help to rouse those who would not soon, perhaps ever, be roused by a socialist agitator. And once drawn into the movement and having acquired an interest in their own future, the workers would go further. The legal labour movement would only be a new and broader basis for the Social-Democratic labour movement.

>“Initiated by the police in the interests of the police, in the interests of supporting the autocracy and demoralising the political consciousness of the workers, this movement [Zubatovschina] is turning against the autocracy and is becoming an outbreak of the proletarian, class struggle.”

>>2860631
the DSA will just be absorbed by the democrats and give dems a slightly more social welfare orientation not a Bolshevik revolution

Hi im a canadian
The DSA doesnt exist in canada only small parties other then like the RCP. What do?

>>2860643
Absolutely fucking nothing.

>>2860626
everyone knows they don't want to 'do the revolution' but posters conceded last thread that they don't exert much control over members or chapters (idk the specifics) so I think they're the group to at least hide in the shadow of and try to further radicalize members or use as a front to pursue clandestine organized work. I know that's not their goal but I feel like conditions may develop faster than the leadership can respond to. I think we should look for development, and that just wasting them for not being PURE enough is unhistorical/undialectical

>>2860643
the NDP is revolutionary and you have a proletarian duty to support them
(unless you live in a liberal riding, then you have to vote for them)

if you're in quebec you have to support the bloc/PQ instead (QS are ultras) because they're the national bourgeoisie which is progressive and stuff

>>2860630
CPUSAnon, is that you?

>>2860645
Its not about being PURE enough its that reformists groups exist not to fight capitalism but to bargin with capitalism for a slighly comfier life. This is why they have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and will fight communists to do so or harm any future revolutionary potential which is historically accurate

The more they seethe at Platner, the more I know he is innocent. Trump/Clinton has done so much worse but he is bulletproof. This guy, 0 evidence but I am supposed to pearl-clutch against him. Nah. He is probably based.

https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1873/01/indifferentism.htm
> “The working class must not constitute itself a political party; it must not, under any pretext, engage in political action, for to combat the state is to recognize the state: and this is contrary to eternal principles. Workers must not go on strike; for to struggle to increase one's wages or to prevent their decrease is like recognizing wages: and this is contrary to the eternal principles of the emancipation of the working class!

>“If in the political struggle against the bourgeois state the workers succeed only in extracting concessions, then they are guilty of compromise; and this is contrary to eternal principles. All peaceful movements, such as those in which English and American workers have the bad habit of engaging, are therefore to be despised. Workers must not struggle to establish a legal limit to the working day, because this is to compromise with the masters, who can then only exploit them for ten or twelve hours, instead of fourteen or sixteen. They must not even exert themselves in order legally to prohibit the employment in factories of children under the age of ten, because by such means they do not bring to an end the exploitation of children over ten: they thus commit a new compromise, which stains the purity of the eternal principles.

>“Workers should even less desire that, as happens in the United States of America, the state whose budget is swollen by what is taken from the working class should be obliged to give primary education to the workers' children; for primary education is not complete education. It is better that working men and working women should not be able to read or write or do sums than that they should receive education from a teacher in a school run by the state. It is far better that ignorance and a working day of sixteen hours should debase the working classes than that eternal principles should be violated.

<It cannot be denied that if the apostles of political indifferentism were to express themselves with such clarity, the working class would make short shrift of them and would resent being insulted by these doctrinaire bourgeois and displaced gentlemen, who are so stupid or so naive as to attempt to deny to the working class any real means of struggle. For all arms with which to fight must be drawn from society as it is and the fatal conditions of this struggle have the misfortune of not being easily adapted to the idealistic fantasies which these doctors in social science have exalted as divinities, under the names of Freedom, Autonomy, Anarchy. However the working-class movement is today so powerful that these philanthropic sectarians dare not repeat for the economic struggle those great truths which they used incessantly to proclaim on the subject of the political struggle. They are simply too cowardly to apply them any longer to strikes, combinations, single-craft unions, laws on the labour of women and children, on the limitation of the working day etc., etc.

I said this a couple threads ago but if you want to be le historic, then I think you're really missing something to the point I get suspicious of you. You're missing how fucking low tide labor/socialism is in the US rn. We are rediscovering trade union consciousness as a whole class, taking this 'privilege' from the fraying and decaying unions. We are so low, that organizing is step 0 and step 1 is using organization to pursue just about anything. The proletariat as a class needs political education from struggle (per Lenin) not just quoting the man about how reform and rev aren't the same or compatible, which is not a secret but doesn't hurt to make known, but it hurts to not act on the basis that reality doesn't fit a mold. Change over time, in material conditions, then reflected in consciousness…isn't this the ybasis of praxis?

>>2860668

More like white women have a lot more practice at utilizing gossip. Emmett Till anyone?

Why is Graham Platner extremely supported by the omni-cause activists despite him killing Middle Eastern people in Iraq & Afghanistan?
The same performative woke communists who claim all Israeli citizens are "genocidal babykillers" (note they are not even just talking about current IDF soldiers during the Gaza war, but all civilians).

The War on Terror (killed 4.5 million of which 1 million were direct military deaths) is much less justified than the Gaza war. After 9/11, the USA could have merely increased Airport Security & it would have been enough, as Al Qaeda was not ruling Canada or Mexico & the USA is not surrounded by enemies in all directions (like Hezbollah from the top & Houthis from the bottom, who started attacking on Oct 8). Israel had far more security reasons to start a war. Israel knew who (Hamas) did it & where they were. The USA didn't even know where Bin Laden was hiding & attacked 5 countries & turns out he was in a different country (Pakistan) living close to one of their military headquarters.

Yet communists are not calling Graham Platner as "genocidal babykiller" for partaking in the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. In fact, recently, there have been many credible sexual assault allegations against him & the woke people in the comments are defending him (see today's Twitter posts). This is Bizarre, normally in the context of Israel, they gulp down even baseless conspiracies. But for Planter, even credible things they are defending.

No one forced Platner to join that war, unlike in the Vietnam War, where people were forced. The woke people don't care about him killing Middle East civilians. Even in the Gaza war, the communists don't care about the Levant Sunni Arabs (Palestinians), as is obvious from them defending Assad & Hezbollah butchering 600,000 Levant Sunni Arabs in Syria in the name of righteous "anti-imperialism" of Iran.

It seems to be subconscious antisemitism from the communists that they pretend to care so much about Gaza. That's why they don't care about anything Platner did, as they saw that he had a Nazi tattoo for many years (although he now claims he never knew what it was, his friends & ex-girlfriend confirmed that he had in the past jokingly referred to it as a Nazi tattoo many years ago). It seems that Tattoo alone is enough for the omni-cause woke people to justify anything he did in the past, including killing people in Iraq & Afghanistan.

These American Leftists claim they are "anti-American," but still, they seem to judge the USA with lower standards than Israel. They are American citizens, but they never call themselves "genocidal babykillers" by applying the same insanely stupid standards.

The cutting off hands as punishment is an Islamic practice spread by Arab slave traders. Was it really Leopold's fault that the local enforcers kept their traditional culture?

>>2860885
He's not wrong

Cross-amputation (Arabic: قطع من خلاف) is a form of punitive judicial limb amputation and one of the Hudud punishments prescribed under Islamic jurisprudence (Sharia law). It involves cutting off the right hand and left foot of the alleged transgressor.[1][2] The scriptural authority for the double amputation procedure is in the Quran (surah 5: 33 and 38), which stipulates:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-amputation

https://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A2002.02.0006%3Asura%3D5%3Averse%3D33

"The punishment of those who protest against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might for mischief through the land is execution or crucifixion, or cutting of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;" (33)

As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise. (38)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrocities_in_the_Congo_Free_State#Severed_hands_as_proof_and_currency
>Hochschild documents that some European officers were concerned about cartridges issued to Force Publique soldiers being "wasted" on hunting or kept for possible mutiny, so they demanded proof that each bullet had been used to kill someone. According to one officer quoted in a missionary account, soldiers sometimes fired at an animal and then cut a hand from a living person to make up the required tally, and in some units a designated "keeper of the hands" smoked the severed hands so they could be presented to officials later.[54]

>Throughout the early twentieth century, reform advocates used missionary testimony to highlight the role of severed hands in this system. E. V. Sjöblom [sv], a Swedish Baptist missionary, reported at a public meeting in London 1897 that African soldiers told him they were rewarded according to the number of hands they brought in, and that a state officer paid them in brass rods for baskets of hands. One soldier told Sjöblom that "the Commissioner has promised us if we have plenty of hands he will shorten our service", which Sjöblom presented as evidence that hands functioned as a kind of bounty for killings under the "rubber terror".[55]

>Drawing on such testimony, novelist Peter Forbath has argued that severed hands were a defining symbol of the Congo Free State and "became a sort of currency". He contended that, in practice, Force Publique soldiers and allied auxiliaries sometimes presented hands instead of rubber when they could not meet a quota, used hands to make up for missing conscripts for labour gangs, and, in some cases, received bonuses according to how many hands they collected.[56] According to Renton, Seddon, and Zeilig, severed hands were "the most potent symbol of colonial brutality" in the Congo.[57]

Missionaries with motives to exaggerate are not the best sources in establishing how widespread a practice it was. We know hand cutting existed but why would the Belgians institute a policy of cutting the hands off their workers? More likely it was a few officers and the local soldiers doing as they please when missionaries found a goldmine story to get lots of donations.

DSA being popular is big for sure, but do newcomers actually know what true socialism is?

Before you say "100% yes!" I want us to think about these graphs and this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3u4EFTwprM
These are shown to almost every high schooler studying history and economics and it is what the majority of normies will understand about socialism. All these resources will just say "socialism is when the government does stuff" or "when the government does 50% of stuff" instead of "the real movement to abolish the state of things" "a free association of producers" etc. I know high schools have to simplify a shit ton of things but this is what the average person will understand about socialism. They'll think its all just "when the government helps out in health care."

I honestly think DSA being big is just a big nothingburger unless it actually pursues real socialist policies (that aren't nationalization) like giving workers the right to first buy out a workplace if its on sale for example. Judging by a lot of things I've seen on social media most people unironically think socialism is when "good stuff happens."

Thoughts? I'd love to be proven wrong about this but the data and evidence shows otherwise. I don't want socialism to just be a trendy thing people hop onto - we already have had enough trouble with opportunists

should be
>DSA being popular is big for sure, but do the newcomers actually know what true socialism is?
my bad

also for the non-americans stopping by - these are the exact graphs that we are shown in high school. the indoctrination is that bad. at one moment my teacher told the entire class that "yeah, nordic european countries are socialist - the government and markets do 50% of the work." we're also taught the "every nation is actually a mixed economy, pure capitalism/communism doesn't exist" which is just pure bullshit and obfuscates how every nation today operates under the capitalist mode of production still (i don't think adding an environmental regulation makes wage labor less present)

history class is worse because we're taught marx wanted "the government to control the whole economy" and that he "was a utopian" - we don't even get taught who the fuck Ferdinand Lassalle is and he's the guy who suggested all that supposed utopian chicanery in the first place!!!!! (critique of the gotha program isn't mentioned ever - one of the most IMPORTANT marxist works)

i get that the capitalist state doesn't want us to get an accurate non-biased account of who karl marx is - but it doesn't take a genius to see through the smokescreen.

and yes i know high schools oversimplify things, but this is stuff that people are going to retain into the real world after they graduate. if we taught that the earth was flat in high school just to "simplify things" that'd be realllllly bad.

>>2860949
DSA is still very young and going through growing pains, so we can't say for sure what they'll end up as. Based on what they've proposed so far… it doesn't go far enough but it's still such that I would consider it the beginnings of socialism
>these are the exact graphs that we are shown in high school
Depends on the school tbh. USA education is extremely decentralized. I was never taught anything about capitalism or socialism at all.

>>2860956

>Depends on the school tbh. USA education is extremely decentralized. I was never taught anything about capitalism or socialism at all.

fair enough, i should've said that the framework shown in both the video and the pictures is what is depicted in most schools (marx wanted total state control and utopian, communism is when government does tons of stuff, etc).

> Based on what they've proposed so far… it doesn't go far enough but it's still such that I would consider it the beginnings of socialism

I mean I guess I see where you're going at but I'm gonna have to disagree. A lot of these (abolish the senate, replace the president, defund the department of war, end sactions, free palestine, nationalize essential industries, abolish the electoral college) can and have been done by a lot of other social-democratic governments - nothing essentially socialist about most of these.

If their main program was something like "all power to worker councils" then my opinion would be way different.
And obviously yes, it is quite good that more left-leaning talking points are in the mainstream, but we should always aim to push the envelope forwards not just at "good enough"

Even so-called "ML vanguard party" programs like PSL's don't really focus on that stuff in their day-to-day messaging, either. For example, here is Andre Easton's platform (running in the Bronx against Torres). Socdem stuff too: https://www.andreforthebronx.nyc/platform
This is just DSA's "front facing" propaganda, which is, similarly, expected to not go as far as they would ideally like to. That doesn't mean we should make excuses for them, but we should understand its nature within its context. Marx didn't go straight to "worker's councils NOW" either when he wrote the 1880 Programme of the Parti Ouvrier, as much as he would have liked to.

>>2860994
>>2860974

This summarizes what one of the biggest hurdles to the left-wing movement in this country is - people look at class through idealism

go into a bar and ask the average person there if they would consider a part of the working class, they're most likely gonna say "nah, i have a college degree - i'm middle class!"

most americans look at class through what your lifestyle looks like (do i watch reality tv or deep dramas, do i go on vacations, did i go to college, do i work with my hands, do i swear a lot, do i use social media frequently) and not "what my relationship to the means of production is" - if you own a business but watch a lot of reality tv, you're simply just salt of the earth blue-collar working class to the average normie

it helps liberals say "we live in a classless society now! anyone can be middle class if they work hard enough!" if class literally means nothing but how you talk or if you have a strong opinion on the ending of game of thrones

>>2860994
>Proletarians don't inherently know things

The nucleus of the Party will be built in the next two years and it will come from the DSA. You can help this process, or you can stop it. Stopping it means going back to sects and irrelevancy. Helping means ending the duopoly and social-democratic reformist illusion of the largest socialist movement currently existing and creating a large, well-organized and well-connected communist fraction, which will, in few more years, be ready to call for dual power.

Or you can whine and shit and piss and cum and barf.

> AIPAC is dead. Long live the DSA.

> The Democratic Socialists aren't winning by spending more. They built a movement that speaks the language of a generation – and Jews need to pay attention

> This spring, AIPAC-aligned super PACs poured nearly $10 million into New York primaries, trying to stop a slate of candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America. It didn’t work. Nine of the 10 candidates on the NYC-DSA slate won. Then, just days ago, a 29-year-old first-time candidate backed by the DSA unseated a 30-year congressional incumbent in Colorado. And she won big. Money couldn’t buy what field organizing did.

> Here’s the critical point, and it behooves us all to sit with this and consider the implications. The DSA didn’t out-fundraise anyone. It out-organized everyone. It built a movement, not an organization: local chapters, young leaders, a social-media-first presence that is the funnel that makes everything else possible. Real power is door knockers. Zohran Mamdani’s campaign fielded over 100,000 volunteers who knocked on three million doors. How many did AIPAC’s political apparatus have? Again, that’s not a knock, no pun intended, it’s just the reality we need to acknowledge and adjust to, yesterday.

>The more they seethe at Platner, the more I know he is innocent.
Whether Platner is innocent or not is a pointless metric. He's certainly guilty of much much worse things than scaring a broad (I have zero sympathy for bitches who sell their rapes, real or invented, to the benefit ruling class).

There is no such thing as Graham Platner the Maine candidate to Senator. Everything about his character is made up. Graham Platner as he is known by anyone who cares about this issue is a complete fabrication, a shared fiction held together by millions in PR and media capture.

The only reason why these "allegations" are having any effect, again regardless of the truthiness of the matter which is entirely irrelevant, is because the DNC and their media pparatus have blessed them. Unlike the five prior attempts. This is why the "victim" has to say that she agrees with Platner's politics. So that the base understands this is one of their own. And indeed, the call is coming from within the house on this one.

This is a switcheroo maneuver by the DNC. How it *usually* works is that they funnel/sheepdog the various demographics and special interests by deploying a bunch of candidates that appeal to their single issues or inclinations. Then, those candidates slowly but surely, despite being managed by the same apparatus and sometimes even the same agencies and funding, slowly drop out and channel their parcel of fools to the real DNC approved ones in a funnel effect. Unifying around support against the republican and progressively tampering down on their expectations, as they are just grateful the "most effective" candidate is rising to challenge the big R.

If someone ever thought Platner was a real politician with any agency, they are exactly as much of a fool, as if they thought his downfall has anything to do with rape (again, real or fabricated, dont matter).

Entryism into either of the two political parties cannot and will not work, Trump proves this but you keep bashing your head into a wall trying to make an American Corbyn (he sucked too)

>>2861408
>rape allegations will destroy a candidate
Hello it's 2026 in the US, being a rapist is almost an requirement to be in office and have a political career

I heard Hasan Abi molested and then cooked and served a dog Sechuan style to Platner which proceeded to rape Hasan Abi.

>>2861410
Graham Platner was never anything else than a sockpuppet plant of the DNC. And possibly a psyop to have all their servile "progressives" show their bellies and be disciplined right after. The media people who collaborated into building the character of Platner had to constnatly lie and spew demonstrable lies about him.

They are utterly compromised now. There is no going back, they will have to stay as faithful dogs of the DNC. And every time, they will be tasked to play the heel again.

>>2861394

As for the therapist, one day she didn't respond to a scheduling question and I didn't bother repeating and that was that.
A lot of my mood problems turned out to be endocrinology related anyway so I've been working on that instead

>>2861414
My last therapist was an Estonian dissident who I made cry by correctly pointing out the reactionary history of her pseudo-nation and how Kaja Kallas grandfather bragged about hanging the (home grown) Communists in Talinn with piano wire.

Baltoids are the worst "people" alive and they should be spat on like babykillers.

Therapy is a bourgeois disciplinary measure which cannot actually improve mental health in any meaningful way, just compliance with the system, which is it's end goal. DBT and CBT are particularly insidious and their purveyors should be actively fought against. DBT is basically just Catholicism and Buddhism, two of the most reactionary doctrines to have ever existed, secularized and monetized for mass consumption.

Therapists are nothing more than secular priests, and they should be treated as such.

turbolib aristocrat bertrand russel once said of lenin

< He was of course a great man. He seemed to me a reincarnation of Cromwell, with exactly the same limitations that Cromwell had. Absolute orthodoxy, he thought a proposition could be proved by quoting a text in Marx, and he was quite incapable of supposing that there could be anything in Marx that wasn’t right, and that struck me as rather limited.

<I disliked one other thing about him which was his great readiness to stir up hatred. I put certain questions to him to see what his answer would be, and one of them was “You profess to be establishing socialism, but as far as the countryside is concerned you seem to me to be establishing peasant proprietorship which is a very different thing from agricultural socialism”.

<And he said, “Oh dear me no, we’re not establishing peasant proprietorship”, he said “You see there are poor peasants and rich peasants, and we stirred up the poor peasants against the rich peasants, and they soon hanged them to the nearest tree, ah hah hah HAH HAH”. I didn’t much like that."

>>2861427
>orthodox christian guru whose advice boiled down to "god gave us flesh to enjoy it, have sex"
Are you sure he was a christian? Did he say get married first?

nta but if actual medicine worked like therapy, you'd arrive at the emergency room with an obviously broken arm and they'd run you though a bunch of texts to subjectively evaluate your experience of the matter, and how to deal with it.

Then they'd prescribe coping mechanisms for the pain. And, if you are very very VERY defferential and polite and accept every single word said to you as unquestionable fact, then you'd be allowed the privilege of painkillers for the arm what now has an extra bend and is beginning to swell and worsen in every way.

Then they'd expect you, not just to get on with your life, having received no actual medical treatment which addresses the problem. And of course they'd happily prescribe as many painkillers as necessary because there is lots of money in your now chronic suffering.
But also, instead of physical rehabilitation, you'd be sent to some sort cultish group where you learn that the grotesque deformity what resulted of your arm which healed wrong is all your fault and you should be lucky that it healed at all.

And this shit would be done by actual doctors who get actual medicine and treatments for themselves and their own and invariably exhibit messianic levels of entitlement.

Why haven't you killed CPUSAnon yet Felix? Are you getting soft on fascism?

Actually, a Lot of DSA Members Are Communists

>Trump’s characterization of the group prompted media dismissals, but a majority of the Democratic Socialists of America’s leadership identifies with Marxist ideology.

>Every two years, DSA convenes its national convention, where delegates pass resolutions and elect members to its board of directors, the NPC. From 2021 to 2023, the Socialist Majority Caucus and the Green New Deal slate held a majority on the NPC, drawing criticism for failing to hold elected officials accountable and for prioritizing coalition building that positioned the DSA as a political partner rather than an independent force. By 2023, however, a “coalition of Communist caucuses” had secured a majority on the NPC.

<More significantly, the convention repealed the organization’s ban on “democratic centralism,” the Leninist concept that internal debates and voting should occur behind closed doors, after which the group should present a unified public front. One DSA member described the ban as a “holdover from DSA’s anti-Communist period and a ward against entryism by external groups.”

>Just last month, the Marxist Unity Group (MUG) put forward an amendment to the “Workers Deserve More!” program that passed the NPC by a razor-thin 12–11 vote. That amendment added language calling for the replacement of the U.S. presidency and Supreme Court with bodies chosen by, and subordinate to, Congress. The coalition in favor of the amendment included MUG, Red Star, Springs of Revolution, Reform & Revolution, and the lone Libertarian Socialist Caucus member. The opposition was mainly Groundwork, the Socialist Majority Caucus, and Bread and Roses. In other words, a more radical bloc pushing for a revolutionary break in U.S. state structure beat out a more reform-minded bloc.

If they were Communists, they would be calling for their cadre to take up arms and organize an underground struggle with the goal of destroying the US government entirely, but since they are not Communists they don't want that, they just want their student loans to be forgiven and a more comfortable life.

The bolsheviks platformed the Provisional Government right up until the very eve of the revolution, remember?

The Bolsheviks also maintained active combat organizations even when they were still the RSDLP. They had extensive underground apparatus and even maintained bomb making factories.

The DSA does not do this, and this is by design. Even the "Marxists" inside the DSA are not Leninists, they want a "democratic" (read: Bourgeois) road to Socialism, which is impossible.

Once again, you "historical materialists" treat Lenin like it's gospel and utterly ignore history. You quote Lenin but ignore what Lenin's party actually did.

This is because, to you, Communism and revolution are not actions you must undertake, but simply ideas you must debate. You are bourgeois dilettantes, not revolutionaries, and that is all you will ever be.

>>2861542
The error of the Weathermen (and to a lesser extent, the RAF) was not their tactics, but rather that they had no connection to the working class. You need legal, mass power to go along with your combat organizations or they will simply be choked out and crushed.

The IRA are the ones to look at, the Weathermen were not a serious combat organization. The RAF also had lots of good ideas, but they never got widespread penetration into the working class movements.

>>2861539

>>2861550
Why should we bother connecting to the "working class" when the vast majority of them are willing and eager collaborators with the bourgeois state and will happily kill and die to defend imperialism?

>>2861542
It also doesn't take much to see that the armed wing of the Bolsheviks in their early days didn't really accomplish much. They were successful because they landed a decisive blow at a moment of critical weakness and paralysis of the state, not because the robbed banks in the 1900s. I agree that it's good to have an underground wing, but I wouldn't call the absence of one fatal to a group's socialist bona fides. Especially when you consider that the election laws of many countries are such that you aren't allowed to participate if you are involved even with direct action or mutual aid, let alone anything illegal. The best thing for communists in America to do would be to maintain legal armed organizations (the US being one of the few countries where this can be done) but with plausible deniability, i.e. no overlap in personnel or official ties.

>>2861551

>>2861550
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sein Fein and the IRA only had unofficial ties no? I doubt they would have been allowed to stand for elections if they openly proclaimed themselves the political wing of the Provos.

>>2861553
Also the RSDLP didn't start out with combat organizations, it only began forming them once the 1905 revolution got underway. Honestly I think the "Red Rabbits" that they use for security could easily be converted into a proper combat organization, the DSA's ties with the SRA would help streamline basic training. It's hardly insurmountable to suggest that the DSA can be transformed into a revolutionary organization, especially when it recently repealed its ban on democratic centralism, one of the main hurdles for communism becoming dominant within the organization

>>2861539
>You quote Lenin but ignore what Lenin's party actually did
There's a tendency to glorify action for action's sake, and this is a completely anti-marxist tendency. It simply is not relevant what Lenin did, because the conditions in which Lenin did things are completely different. But the kernel of truth which lies in Leninism is its call to political action, to political freedom. This is the entire body of Lenin's work up until 1905. But the example I posted is very relevant. Participation in the DSA is practical politics. Marx would've called it dirty and Jewish and thisworldy. And you can also find tens of letters between Marx and Engels about their activities (and of other communists) in smaller non-communist organizations, agitating for communism (just read the early correspondence post-German Ideology).

Ridiculous and infantile j'accuse about 'not doing enough' is your 'world-historic yardstick'. It's also the essence of fascism btw. Action-pour-action, just doing shit for the fun of it, not giving a fuck about strategy, longevity, organization, stability. Me no frego, and so on. Revolution by all means, even if it means abandoning political struggle in favor of heroic sacrifice and unnecessary death.

I want to call you nihilists, but nihilists were at least aware they are giving up their beliefs. Are you even aware of what you are doing?

>>2861555
"jesus was a roman psyop" does not mean there wasn't a historical jesus that the pro-roman jesus of the new testament was a distortion of. Judas of Galilee led a tax revolt and was killed. Zealots rebelled against the Romans and were crucified. Historical Jesus (whoever he may have been) however preached during a period of relative peace (in terms of there not being a civil war or war against the romans) between the revolt of Judas of Galilee and the Destruction of the Second Temple. Historical Jesus is odd because the earliest secular sources are Josephus, who wrote AFTER Titus destroyed the second temple.

> “why isn’t there documentation of this carpenter who was also a messianic prophet in a place where there were tons of messiah claimants?”

well an even stronger argument is that one shouldn't expect there to be primary sources from before the destruction of the second temple since Jerusalem and all its literature was destroyed. The Dead Sea Scrolls survived largely because Essene hermits stored them in caves.

>>2861558
>It's hardly insurmountable to suggest that the DSA can be transformed into a revolutionary organization
The issue with many people's anti-DSA position isn't that they identify its problems, its that they treat these problems as permanent and unfixable. I can't say for certain whether the DSA can be changed into something worthwhile, but given the fact that no other party has made any serious headway in decades it can't hurt to take a shot at it. There isn't anything much more productive that this would divert resources from.

no he didn't, he called bomb throwing petty work
>Nor does the leaflet eschew the theory of excitative terrorism. “Each time a hero engages in single combat, this arouses in us all a spirit of struggle and courage,” we are told. But we know from the past and see in the present that only new forms of the mass movement or the awakening of new sections of the masses to independent struggle really rouses a spirit of struggle and courage in all. Single combat however, inasmuch as it remains single combat waged by the Balmashovs, has the immediate effect of simply creating a short-lived sensation, while indirectly it even leads to apathy and passive waiting for the next bout. We are further assured that “every flash of terrorism lights up the mind,” which, unfortunately, we have not noticed to be the case with the terrorism-preaching party of the Socialist-Revolutionaries.

>>2861563
>they treat these problems as permanent and unfixable.
they have an unspoken assumption that revolutionary organziations can only decay into counter revolutionary organizations, but counter revolutionary organizations cannot evolve into revolutionary organizations or get hijacked by revolutionaries. My take is it depends on what kind of org you're trying to take over. Entryism might work as a strategy for some orgs but not others. At the end of the day, depending on the factors, I think an organization or institution can be taken over just like a building. If the Communists operated out of the Kremlin that once belonged to the Tsar, they can operate out of the white house, or out of the capitol building, or out of a city hall, or out of a formerly-reformist organization.

>>2861565

>KPD (split from SPD)
>CPC (split from KMT)

It definitely isn't unheard of.
>My take is it depends on what kind of org you're trying to take over. Entryism might work as a strategy for some orgs but not others.
Yeah and the DSA seems especially susceptible to it precisely because of how ideologically weak and decentralized it is. This allows more committed, coherent, and disciplined elements to seize key positions and begin consolidating. The organization has undergone a pretty clear shift to the left in the last decade on pretty much every issues.

>>2861579

True. Let us recall the Bauman affair.

>>2861601
While exiled in 1899, Bauman had an affair with the wife of a fellow revolutionary who became pregnant with Bauman's child.[7] Bauman responded by openly mocking her, and circulating a vicious cartoon of her as the Virgin Mary with a baby in her womb, with a caption asking "who the baby looked like". The woman later hanged herself.[8]

This story had gained wide currency among Russian political exiles by the time Bauman reappeared in Switzerland in 1902, after the escape from Kiev.[citation needed] Some of those involved in producing Iskra, including Lenin's closest friend and collaborator, Julius Martov and Pavel Axelrod, one of the founders of Russian Marxism, wanted Bauman expelled from the organisation. In 1903, the board of Iskra adjudicated the matter, and Lenin interceded on Bauman's behalf. According to biographer Robert Service, Lenin rejected the party's right to interfere, arguing that the party's task "was to make revolution against the Romanov monarchy and to vet the morality of comrades only when and in so far as their actions affected the implementation of the task".[7] The subsequent controversy divided the party, and has been described as "one of the many personal clashes which came to define the ethical distinctions" between the Bolshevik and Menshevik factions after 1903.[8]

>>2861600
not really, all it shows is that the left is ideological while the right is tribal.
this is to the left's disadvantage in the short run (there's a glut of stupid, nasty boomers with tribal instincts), but in the long run it has taken the right - which arguably used to have more meaningful (e.g. implemented in policy 1970s-2000s) intellectual heft behind it than the left/center-left - and turned it into a cult of all of the dumbest people in society, a black hole with a gravitational pull that any smart person prejudiced enough to slip into its orbit winds up being dragged down to their level, an infinitely dense mental void.

the bourgeoisie have never been above insurance fraud. read rajani palme dutt talk about the deliberate destruction of fixed capital and productive forces when they are no longer profitable. also this guy is heavily invested in israel, the country that benefited the most from the GWOT since it took care of all the secular arab nationalists who were against israel (like saddam hussein) by falsely linking them with the Israel-allied wahhabist fundamentalists who actually did the attacks.

The port authority predicted 1.5-2.5bn over a 99 year lease on the towers when they were privatised and the winning bid was ultimately 3.25bn, in that context (and with inflation) getting 3bn in insurance just in case (someone bombed them in 93) doesn't seem unreasonable.

uh huh. and he just happened to have a "miracle from god" (his words) and take the one day off he needed to in order to

  1. not die in the attacks
  2. not have to pay for renovations
  3. make more money than he paid for the towers

>>2861643
He's a multi-millionaire who owns buildings in nyc you don't need to convince me he's not a completely bloodless, greedy, grifting sociopath that's obvious.

>>2861652
he was still obliged to pay nyc rent and to rebuild the towers(!) at a loss

>>2861654
>at a loss
proof it would have cost less to renovate (due by 2002) and not get an insurance payout?

>>2861278
Looks like Troy Jackson is in. He will most likely win in the general. This is also not prophecy.

>hey babe i have a new goalpost
ok, yes, the Bolsheviks did have combat organizations before taking power, but they were small, clandestine revolutionary cells, not a conventional military force, and they were most active in the years surrounding the 1905 Revolution rather than immediately before the October Revolution. These combat organizations would do things like fight the police and defend the workers during attempted suppression of strikes, conduct expropriations, etc

Well there was a reason Bin laden was not IN Saudi Arabia at that time (not that he couldn't find a sympathetic saudi patron to hide him if he really wanted, the same way the ISI hid him in Pakistan.)

>>2861656
asbestos removal cost was $200m
1 wtc cost $3.9bn, one of the most expensive US skyscraper constructions

odd way for larry to save money.

Test poster.-

Alright. Now,Roger.-

>>2861665
he got paid 4.5 billion on the insurance

>>2861267
what the fuck are you on about

>>2861670
he had to pay $100mn/year ground rent + other lease fees to NYC despite all the buildings being blown up (=no rental income for him, all investments in them written off, etc.)

he claims his total loss was 8bn and once sued airlines for 12…

>>2861672
hmmm maybe his dermatologist appointment really was just dumb luck

how many people died in gaza since 2023. i was arguing with someone that half the population died, so about 1 million, but they said it was much lower. I can't find reliable english sources because the US government is an accomplice in this genocide

>>2861675
Hard to say. Many still missing. Only time will tell, honestly.

>>2861675
Credible estimates like the lancet one are more in the 200k-300k range. It's hard to say though because Israel tends to kill investigators.

>>2861676
can't, was on the phone lol

>>2861675
>>2861680
The reason it stayed at around 50,000 was because after that the Gaza health ministry was so bombed it no longer had the capacity to keep counting.

>>2861682
75% of the buildings are gone so the idea that it could only be 2.5% of the population dead seems crazy. Even if the remaining 97.5% of the Gaza population was crammed into the remaining 25% of buildings, they'd be dying of communicable diseases and overcrowding. And the casualties per building would rise with each new building blown up, since more people would be crammed in each one. Maybe many of them are hiding in the ruins. We know bulldozers were burying uncounted corpses.

>>2861685
The statisticians know that, their estimates of violent deaths always were roughly 50% more than health ministry counts. Then they put the missing apart which are likely dead too. And they add the even more numerous "non violent" deaths because of the infrastructure being rubble. I saw some researchers using past wars and studies like lancet to extrapolate 500k over mortality when the dust will settle which is still a whooping 25% of the population

It was about what you expect, though the two I met were slightly less maladapted than the usual stock (they showered and were decently well groomed).
>years ago in my late teens
>at church, two /pol/tards visit one day
>they ask the pastor a question mid-sermon like it's some kind of socratic seminar, I respect the balls.
>church kinda shocked but pastor plays along and it goes over smoothly
>my friend at the time was the youth pastor, he invites them to lunch, I tag along
>we meet in a lively public food joint
>within 5 minutes it became obvious these guys were pseud white identitarian 4channers trying to subtly hide their power level
>didn't take long before it devolved into saying the quiet part out loud.
>"we're really into writers like Evola and Nietzche", "we're drawn to Christianity because it's not taken over by jewish degeneracy unlike secular culture","we're not a big fan of this christian universalism though, very jewish", "we carry nordic blood" and many more bangers I've since forgotten
>I was embarrassed to death and kept silent the entire time while my pastor was totally taken aback, desperately trying to steer back to the topic of why christianity is moral and gives people around the world meaning/purpose/community.
>it was very obvious they saw christianity as a means to an end for the dominance of their identitarian views.
>pastor eventually meekly ends the conversation and voices disagreement over their worldview but encourages them to return and be open to change their mind.
>they leave and pastor turns to me and we both laugh our asses off and spend the next few weeks cracking jokes about nordic blood and not being white enough for them.
>I tell him about 4chan and /pol/ and he starts to feel bad that losers are being swayed into nazism.
Needless to say they did not come back lol.

>>2861690
What’s crazier is even after all that, Palestinians still outnumber Israelis in the territory as a whole by around 6 to 4 even as they continue the genocide. Unless every Haredim is eligible for conscription the IOF is going to collapse on the Lebanese and possibly Syrian front, in addition to permanently trashing their reputation forever.

Shut the fuck up, fed

I"m not sure manpower is much less of a factor with the current state of technology and industry weilded by powerful states. Israel is one and all the other ones are either supporting them or being functionally neutral. They may just get away with it.

No but Israel are straight up losing the attrition war in Lebanon and can’t even manage to treat Al Sharah like the puppet he is, they think he’s another Sinwar. Their racism is literally making them fuck up tactically. That’s only going to get worse if you recruit Haredim to LARP as David.
