>>2860623 >>2861637I've seen a few deranged right wingers at work, and one where I couldn't be sure.
I>Dude at the checkstand across from mine>Coworker makes the mistake of asking how they're day is going>He goes into a rant that he was accused of being a pedophile on facebook or something.<"They're only doing it because I told the TRUTH about THE JEWS.">Boasts that he wont stop and that the Jews are evil.>Coworkers are awkwardly trying to avoid making eye contact and getting him out of their as fast as possible<Says "THIS IS HOW YOU GET MASS SHOOTERS!" as he leavesII>Out doing carts, see a huge truck parked in the middle of our lot by the front>Like just straight up illegal parking>White dude who looks like he's roided up storms out of the store yelling<"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PEOPLE, HUH?! WHERE ARE THE WHITE PEOPLE?!?!">Confused coworker looks at him<"YOU WANNA FIGHT?! YOU WANNA FIGHT BRO?!"<"TRUMP IS GONNA MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN!"III>Guy who shops in our store prior to the Charlie Kirk assassination wearing TPUSA gear>Seen his car, literally has "Socialism SUCKS!" and "Facts don't care about your feelings" bumper stickers.>Asks where our beer is>Literally while standing in the aisle where we keep all our alcohol>Point it out to him<"Ah, thanks man. All I saw were the Hard Seltzers.">Tell him I'm not much of a Seltzer guy myself<"That's RIGHT bro! The only people who drink hard seltzer are COMMUNISTS!"IV>Facing up a section of the store (retail lingo for tidying up the shelves, making them look fuller, etc)>Old white guy comes up, fat as shit<"Hey, y'know what aisle your steaks are on?">Point him to it<"Hah! I knew I could ask you, big guys like us know where to find the beef, eh?">Laugh it off <"Ah, glad you got a sense of humor. Lots of people get easily offended these days.">Anyone who says this usually is a walking red flag.>Guy starts talking about how carrot juice will help you live longer.>Somehow switches to Martin Luther King Jr.<"Hey, you know why MLK jr changed his name, right?">Just trying to do my job and humor him<"Its because he went to Germany in the 30s, and he saw what Hitler was doing, and Hitler was talking about the Catholics…">Oh no.<"And you know who else talked about the Catholics? Martin Luther; the original.">This is gonna get weird<"Anyways, Hitler was trying to say that its these Catholics that run the banks and start all the wars…">Interrupt him and mention I'm Catholic<"Then you should know this, this is YOUR history.">Goes on to talk about how Hitler wanted to get rid of the Catholics and MLK was assassinated because he was going to wake America up to the Catholic menace.>No I'm not substituting Jews for Catholics, this is literally what the guy was saying>Just tell him "I'm done with this." And walk off, he starts yelling at me to come back 'cause he's not done. >>2861710<"That's RIGHT bro! The only people who drink hard seltzer are COMMUNISTS!"Funny, I'm drinking one right now. I used to work at a grocery store too and the only incident of rightoid nonsense I encountered was some boomer buying the Toronto Sun (basically Canada's version of the New York Post) and telling me that he won't vote for the Liberals because Trudeau is secretly a Muslim lmao. At uni though I knew this guy who was into Evola and shit. I also saw him reading Dugin one time.
AI bubble collapse status?
>>2861710Lol that's crazy. I used to work with this Fox News boomer who used to put Rush Limbaugh on in the car back when he was alive, and somehow we managed to not ever get into a single political conversation ever despite taking like 10 hour road trips together at a time. He used to just let me sleep in the car and even when I was awake we would go for hours without speaking much but we had a good rapport. That's man shit, the silent bonding. He was a pretty cool dude, don't think he was that racist, one time I did a 12 hour drive to bring him this vehicle to a kob he had been stuck at this motel with this other worker who was an FOB and when I got there he looked so happy to see me. I was going to share the room for the night with the FOB guy then drive 12 hours back and the boomer cowork told me: "oh don't worry about FOB guy, "he doesn't speak a lick of English, but he's a good guy." Lol boomer guy reminded me of Hank Hill, like he was uptight about his sense of honor and work ethic but was otherwise pretty chill.
Only political thing I remember is I mentioned some news story of the day I heard on the TV and had the mistake of saying the words CNN and that set him off on a mini tirade about CNN lol.

>>2861710i was going to make a joke and say "good evidence on how reactionary lumpenproles are" but i know basically nothing about these people aside from the weird vibes
funny stories though
>>2861710Back when I used to work for Planet Fitness I had plenty of crazy rightoids who could come in and treat me like a bartender, ranting about whatever. Only time I actually physically walked out on a conversation was when some lady started going on some transphobic tirade that lasted nearly an hour, something about how trans women were actually a white supremacist conspiracy for white men to rape black women and dilute black blood or something like that. Usually I had people come up to me and feel the need to unprompted tell me about God and Jesus and try and convert me, to the point that I seriously considered just getting a shirt that said "I am beyond salvation, dont try to convert me". And of course I was also employed there when LibsofTikTok targeted the company so I got plenty of rank transphobes canceling their membership and getting mad at us
Heard a guy working in the gas station on night shift blasting We Are Charlie Kirk like two and a half weeks ago, could have been ironic, didnโt know how to read his small smile at his phone that disappeared as I walked up and bought blunt wraps.
>The most illuminating section of Visserโs book describes attitudes to pedantry during and after the American Revolution. The plain style of Thomas Paine initiated a wave of resistance to small cliques of classically educated rulers, who might unite pedantry with tyranny and irreligion. The key question became: โWhat was useful knowledge for the new nation?โ And the answer to that question was often: โKnowledge that isnโt pedanticโ, in various senses. Religious leaders could insist, as one anonymous preacher put it, that โlarninโ isnโt religion, and eddication donโt give a man the power of the Spirit.โ In the presidential election contest of 1828 between Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams, a farmer asked which was โthe best dictionary man?โ On being told it was Adams he declared his intention of voting for Jackson, on the grounds that โdictionary menโ get everything wrong. This strain of hostility to pedantry had some positive consequences: in 1897 the Episcopalian abolitionist Alexander Crummell argued that the Black community in the United States needed intellectual leaders, insisting that knowledge of Latin, Greek and science would be mere pedantry if such leaders were โnot inspired with the notion of leadership and dutyโ. But it also established a convention. Anyone whose learning served no self-evidently useful function could be called a pedant. It is not hard to see affinities between these early American reformers (or indeed the farmer who voted for Jackson) and loud voices in the United States today, for whom the enemy is all too often those over-sophisticated college-educated know-nothings who think they know it all.
>>2861722i don't know much about the inevitability of an ai bubble popping, if anyone can redpill me on that so i can more effectively communicate it to others that'd be helpful
when it does pop though, what will be the effects after aside from the usual recession stuff?
i'm tempted to say that we'll see the tech sector unionize more after seeing how corporations are ready to replace them at a whim but that just feels too optimistic - the tech sector is a hotbed of false consciousness

>>2861739adding onto this - despite the fact he himself was a hindu he said that america "should embrace christian nationalism"
i have no idea where the fuck he thought he was gonna be in this white nationalist america he dreamed of
>>2861737>when it does pop thoughif it were possible to predict then it wouldn't happen. bubbles pop when everyone panics and sells. but if you know when a bubble is going to pop then you panic sell before everyone else, but then if everyone knows when to panic sell they panic sell even earlier, moving back the date of the bubble popping.
>>2861737A stock market bubble can't be predicted to pop with certainty because no one knows exactly when enough investors will panic and sell all at once, and the same grifting and optimism that inflates it can always keep attracting new buyers longer than anyone expects.
>>2861737No one knows when collective belief will shift from "someone else will buy this from me later" to "I need to sell before everyone else does." Since expectations exist only in millions of interacting minds, there is no objective signal that tells you exactly when that tipping point will occur. Inside traders and whales have an advantage, but even they cannot know for sure. Short sellers bet on the moment, but sometimes fail. This bubble is bigger than any other bubble in US stock market history, and has already gone on longer than anyone expected it to.

>>2861799what's funny is these motherfuckers pretend autonomous regions like Tibet and Xinjiang are oppressed while America literally still has shit like Puerto Rico and American Samoa as purely extractive territories with zero political representation or autonomy.
>>2861806the 'soccer' thing is humorous.
it all dates back since trump first presidency, and obama last presidency.
before trump became president in 2016, obama doj initiated corruption investigations on the fifa.
obviously, when trump wins, infantino, president then starting presidency with trump, got trump heavily caramelized, a flattered trump, a charmed by infantino trump, an infantino who became very close, very friendly of trump since 2017. I am sure it was infantino who convinced trump of a US hosting the world cup, in a desperate campaign to avoid more doj scrutinization that would destroy fifa similarly like the 2015 corruption scandal made the then fifa president and infantino's predecesor, sepp blatter, resign, and basically barring him from being close to any 'soccer' activities.
all that said, I don't think the outcome of the world cup had amused trump. more so now that he admitted that he rigged the cup for nothing, and humiliated the us more with that 4-1.
I wouldn't be surprised if infantino is arrested before trump term ends.

(Chou laughs.) That is, things like โthe whole world should unite and defeat imperialism, revisionism, and all reactionaries, and establish socialism.โ
>President Nixon: Like me. And bandits.
<Chairman Mao: But perhaps you as an individual may not be among those to be overthrown. They say that he (Dr. Kissinger) is also among those not to be overthrown personally. And if all of you are overthrown we wouldnโt have any more friends left.
>President Nixon: Mr. Chairman, the chairmanโs life is well-known to all of us. He came from a very poor family to the top of the most populous nation in the world, a great nation.
>My background is not so well known. I also came from a very poor family, and to the top of a very great nation. History has brought us together. The question is whether we, with different philosophies, but both with feet on the ground, and having come from the people, can make a breakthrough that will serve not just China and America, but the whole world in the years ahead. And that is why we are here.
<Chairman Mao: Your book, The Six Crises, is not a bad book. >/DNCpol/ still coping about Plapner

>>2862009It would be pretty obvious who was responsible for such a crisis. Why would anybody welcome the people who tried to starve them out as liberators?
>>2862009Again, like Iraq, the US would win the war and lose the occupation, no amount of Engels quotes changes that
what about quebec tho?
>>2862039you think its impossible for america to engineer a crisis in a way where the people hate the current canadian government more than america? ever heard of a color revolution? also we assume full annexation, but it would be enough for america to find a quisling-like collaborator and have canada as a puppet state instead, like the netherlands under nazi germany? what if taking canada was preceded by a crisis involving Russia or China in the arctic? canadians would no doubt see america as the lesser evil compared to those two. all im saying is there is too much leverage over canada for me to be comfortable if i lived there
>>2862041>lose the occupation41m vs 350m, wishful thinking. 90% of canadian citizens live within 100 miles of the border and half of canada lives below north dakota/washington state. delusional to think guerilla warfare can be won against a neighboring superpower with AI facial recognition surveillance and ballistic missile systems that can put a sidewinder in a safehouse 20 miles away
>>2862052>you think its impossible for america to engineer a crisis in a way where the people hate the current canadian government more than america? Yes, hating the US is like 75% of Canada's national identity lmao. Certainly there's no way they could get things to the point where we'd accept annexation. Everybody here can see what a dumpster fire that country is, and although we're only a little bit better there is basically zero desire to be a part of that mess.
>ever heard of a color revolution?Colour revolutions replace unfriendly governments with friendly ones. That's very much within the realm of possibility (and has arguably already been attempted with the trucker protest). Annexation is a completely different story.
>but it would be enough for america to find a quisling-like collaborator and have canada as a puppet state insteadSome kind of puppet government would be much more realistic, and you could argue that this was just the pre-Trump status quo. But annexation is a non-starter.
>canadians would no doubt see america as the lesser evil compared to those twoChina already has a higher approval rating among Canadians than the US. Russia probably would as well if it weren't for the war in Ukraine. Most Canadians see the current US and Russian governments as being cut from the same aggressive, militaristic cloth. China by contrast is increasingly seen as an imperfect but reliable, respectful, and sane partner for trade and diplomacy.
https://news.gallup.com/poll/693443/canadians-sour-leadership-warm-own.aspx>all im saying is there is too much leverage over canada for me to be comfortable if i lived thereI agree, and we're all very uncomfortable up here. But I can't foresee any situation in which any significant number of Canadians approves of annexation.
>>2862057>What does Canada even have? A rich, defenseless imperialist state. Half of the world's mining companies are Canadian owned. America needs those assets to compete with china on the rare earths market
>>2862059>>2862057Oil, nickel, iron, uranium, timber, potash, precious metals, gems, prime agricultural and ranching land, etc. Plus strategic control over the Arctic, the northwest passage, and one of the only regions in the world that climate change will actually make more hospitable.

>>2862058the polls may say one thing, but you cant convince me that when rubber hits the road the broad Canadian masses will commit to a shared destiny with CHYNA over america. just isnt realistic
>>2862066Idk what you mean by "shared destiny". We just need to hate the people threatening our independence more than the people who aren't, which seems perfectly realistic.
>>2862063So invading canada would secure oil for the US for the next century
>>2862069>Why would there need to be a shared identity? because big brother america will force Canada to choose a side, and it will probably happen when trump is out of office and relations return to normal. america isnt just gonna let little brother canada play their rivals off each other like its turkey or something, they think they OWN YOU
>>2862070Alternatively they could not be retarded and just let us sell it to them like we already were. That's why the whole thing is so absurd. Canada was hardly some bastion of anti-imperialism prior to Trump. We were easily one of their closest proxies, and why I'm skeptical that the US deep state would allow something as idiotic as annexation to go ahead. It would destroy NATO and do way more to harm US power than help it. If I was some Pentagon big wig and Trump tried that I would coup his ass.
>>2862072It's not going to happen obviously.
>>2862069>>2862071if civility shitlibs were back in power in burgerland i wonder how much klanadians would soften towards burgers. the second question i suppose is if the popular attitude really makes a difference in klanada, since like most other nations it is still a DOTB. similarly, if the imperial hostility towards klanada by burgers was reframed in terms of liberal civility and diplomacy… what would happen then?
>>2862072>Canada was hardly some bastion of anti-imperialism prior to Trump. We were easily one of their closest proxies, and why I'm skeptical that the US deep state would allow something as idiotic as annexation to go ahead. An attempted annexation of Canada would be America's "then as farce" version of what Americans imagine Russia is doing in Ukraine.

>>2862074America is a schizophrenic country, especially since 2016. Broadly speaking, Canadians hate MAGA shit and the American right in general, but are pretty amenable to American liberalism. Even then though, they just see them as like minded people that we can be partners and allies with, not people they want to share a country with (mainly because it means also sharing a country with the chuds). If the Trump and his ilk hasn't come along we likely would have been happy to remain a loyal satellite indefinitely. As things stand right now, the dominant mood is that the presence of the chuds means that the US is no longer reliable, and that even if the Dems win the next election we can't rule out the possibility of Trump 2.0 at any time, so its best to begin diversification of our international relations. This is essentially the dominant view of the Canadian ruling class at this time.
From my understanding of Canada at least, there is a sizeable contingent of chuds that worship America and want to be part of it. Alberta would secede and join the US if given the chance, and the Tories have pretty much made it their official platform to be annexed by America. So there would certainly be no shortage of collaborators if America actually invaded. A lot of Americans would probably object, but the Trump administration will probably just insist that this is "not a war" the same way they did with Iran and just lie constantly about how Canadians love Trump until mainstream media repeats it uncritically, again just like with Iran. Of course assuming they do decide to occupy Canada that'll be the catalyst for America becoming an official pariah state in the eyes of NATO and they'll all band together for fear of being invaded next

Lol.
>>2862079Thatโs what Brandon was and he failed, there is no โback to normalโ
>>2862082>From my understanding of Canada at least, there is a sizeable contingent of chuds that worship America and want to be part of it. They're not that sizable, just very loud. Even in Alberta separatist sentiment usually tops out at around 30%. There are probably enough to put some kind of Quisling regime together, but like the actual Quisling regime almost everybody would hate it.
>and the Tories have pretty much made it their official platform to be annexed by AmericaYeah and it led to them blowing a 20 point lead in the polls and losing to the Liberals in the last election.
>and just lie constantly about how Canadians love Trump until mainstream media repeats it uncriticallyThat would be much harder since we speak English and are right next door. A lot of Canadians have friends, colleagues, or family in the US too, plus large numbers already living there. It would be pretty much impossible to suppress the news of what people really thought.
>>2862086>the president came up with a neat solution: just split the northern neighbor into two states, one red, the other blue. only blumpf could come up with an answer this elegant
>>2862070>>2862072No, taking over canada would get about 22 more years.
America's current reserve lasts 10 years, canada's reserve is about 2.2x the size of american reserve, therefore 22 years, not 100.
At the rate it's going, Venezuelan reserves are only enough for another 41 years too. If the US taps into both then there's enough oil for burgerreich citizens for 70 years, meaning that without serious tapering off, most people alive today will see the exhaustion of oil supplies.

https://archive.is/v5RX6#selection-2460.0-2460.1>Steering the British pound after the European debt crisis delivered a lasting lesson in how a global economy engineered for efficiency had grown dangerously dependent on a single fragile point: America and its greenback. As bank governor, he proposed a โsynthetic hegemonic currencyโ that middle-sized economies could use as a dollar alternative. The IMFโs chief economist in Washington called the idea โintriguing,โ but โimprobable,โ saying the U.S. dollarโs strength flowed from Americaโs โinstitutions, the rule of law.โ No wonder they hate him. >>2862093>The reception was more restrained in London, Carneyโs next stop. Prime Minister Keir Starmerโs administration had been startled when Trudeauโs government discreetly asked British intelligence chiefs to start discussing how they might band together if the U.S. left Five Eyes, the U.S.-led intelligence-sharing alliance. MI6 turned them down, as the vast majority of intelligence that flowed through that club came from Washington. The idea never gained traction, Canadian officials said, and Carney didnโt try to resurface it. Lol startled sounds like the perfect word to describe Starmer. He always looks that way.

>That would be much harder since we speak English and are right next door. A lot of Canadians have friends, colleagues, or family in the US too, plus large numbers already living there. It would be pretty much impossible to suppress the news of what people really thought. The problem is though that the Trump administration has effectively mastered the art of "who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?" for every issue, no matter how grand or how petty or how obvious the lie is. Like the whole debacle over the reflecting pool, despite the fact that we have video evidence that the people arrested did not cut a "350 foot gash" in the bottom it just got repeated endlessly and a good 35% of the country just accepted it as fact that antifa terrorists were the reason why the reflecting pool had algae in it, but also it doesn't have algae in it and news of algae is fake news. Hell I saw a CNN reporter gently pushing back on it in an interview with one of Trump's lackeys and the response she got was "why are you doubting the president?" Trump can never lie, everything he says is the truth no matter how obviously false it is. So I predict with an invasion of Canada the administration will just flood the zone with obvious AI generated videos of Canadians in MAGA hats cheering for Trump and it will immediately become the official narrative no matter how many atrocities are committed against the population or any other difficulties in the occupation. They could begin firebombing entire provinces and they'd still say that nothing is happening and Canada loves Trump. Welcome to the post-truth era

He recalled always being very interested in the military because both of his grandfathers had served in World War II.>"I endeavored to actively author my own life… making a life that kept me engaged, kept me interested and was meaningful to me. So the military seemed more and more like a viable option for that next page and that next step," he reasoned.
>Everman started studying books on special operations and the Vietnam War, working on his physical fitness and eventually met with an Army recruiter. He fulfilled his touring obligations with Mind Funk through the rest of the year and started basic training in 1994.>"It was a necessary step for the progression," Everman stated.

The Platner shills got shafted, but like in a MLM scheme, it was their own greed and malice towars their peers what got thme on board shilling for Platner. They just thought if they served the DNC enough, this candidate would trade them treats for whatever other sordid agenda the DNC was cooking with Planter WRT "foreign policy".
In the end, like 99% of the people who join a MLM scheme thinking they can scam their peers for profit, they were left holding the bag. Deservedly so.
The latest allegations are irrelevant, as is whether they are true or not. The only reason they have any effect is because the DNC has blessed them, in effect throwing Platner under the bus. >>2862420The American military is insanely inefficient with its budget because it has to buy everything through contractors, everything costs 10x - 100x more than it should. Russia's geographical position and economic disposition basically ensures that if given the chance it will come to dominate the EU. The economic fallout from the war in Ukraine has proven that without the cheap inputs from Russia, the wider European economies just aren't viable.
Unfortunately, the EU can't give up Nato because they require the US's foreign policy to maintain the status quo, particularly with regards to Africa and the Middle East. Rapprochement with Russia wouldn't just mean economic reconciliation, but a massive, geological shift across the whole of European society.

>>2862493>Fake rape accusations will explode in Dem circles now. It's a provably easy way to get rid of political opponents.Rape accusations have already rained by Platner and just about anyone with enemies. Platner himself already had four(five?) prior allegations with not much better proof behind them (which is a low bar, being literally none). They were just offhandedly rejected by the base at the insinuation they were REPUBLICAN (not politically) motivated.
Fake, real, it's all the same. None of these people are going to seek charges or have the slightest pretense of not being a political maneuver.
This one made sure to state that the broad in question actually agrees with the politics of his campaign and was shortly validated by the big Dems dropping their endorsement and demanding withdrawal. But again, it's those same endorsements and PR work what made Platner a thing to begin with, not his political platform. Anybody could have gotten those talking points, and probably been more effective than a drunkard, nepo failson who cannot cite any point of his military career without opening a PR blackhole. Because he's just done the most disreputable shit ever AND cannot stop bragging about how much of a psycho he has been and is.
And he got a big ass Nazi tattoo as well. Now that the play seems to be to switcheroo him for another, I can maybe justify how the PR goblins failed to erase his Totenkopf first thing before going public. And have you seen the man speak? HE can't say two sentences without a teleprompter or another shoving words directly into his mouth for him to spit.
Platner, if anything has been deadweight to carry, kicking and screaming and shitting PR disasters all the way to the finish line.
Think I am going to buy a new rifle. But I can't decide what to get. The local gun shop has a Howa with a HS precision stock which is really nice. But online has more selection and better prices. I want something with some range because my AR-15 is set up with a red dot so it's not much good beyond 100 yards.
>>2862609Why not just get a different optic for your AR?
>>2862610Those things suck I've tried them before and didn't like them at all. I'd rather get a bigger rifle with a scope.
>>2862612It's a parts gun and not very accurate in the first place. I want something that can achieve much better accuracy. Not to mention I want the red dot for close range use where it's the most superior style of optic. I could swap it out for a scope and swap it back but then I'd have to re-zero every time and that's a huge pain in the ass. I could upgrade my AR for better accuracy but it would cost more than just buying a new rifle I think.
>>2862607The UK would've helped America in Hormuz if that was the case, instead they denied them use of their resources like airfields, just like spain did. The whole "Europe is a colony of america" schtick is getting quite old

>>2862619A larger cartridge would be nice. I was thinking a 6.5 creedmoor, which gives most of the benefits of .308 but with better accuracy and less recoil. I was considering a bolt action. >>2862755I am not getting into whether the CMoP (Chinese mode of production) is AES or any kind of state-capitalist combination (the preferred term would be state-socialism, if you are a Leninist/Bukharinist (Lenin's theory of state and imperialism are actually Bukharin's, but I digress). What I am getting into is what the CMoP signifies in world-history.
Some month ago I read Laussen's The Long Transition and, withholding a genuine critique, I realized that revolutions are not singular instances in time, where there's a state before and after, but it usually takes many decades for a revolution - the time it takes for it to ember, kindle, start a prairie fire - and many years after the revolution, the period of proletarian dictatorship and socialist (re)construction. It also takes time for people's consciousness to change, because they need to adjust to the new mode of production. But I think most communists agree that this part is the most difficult part because it takes time to change petty-bourgeois anti-communist consciousness so deeply rooted almost everywhere.
In this sense, what
China signifies is an actual possibility of communism. It matters not that the cat is black or white, as long as there is a negative other that the bourgeois order is forced to defined itself by way of antagonism/contraposition. That is, it doesn't matter which color the cat is, as long as the imperialist see a tiger.
As the imperialist order rots further, this anti-communism will become more and more obvious. At the same time, it will also be completely undeniable that the CMoP works while the patriotic anti-communist system doesn't. This would conditionally get people to achieve some form of class consciousness if any kind of communist party is ready to go for ideological mobilization and mass agitation.
The PRC signals communism as actuality. This is the point. Socialism is not a thing of the past, or a utopia. It exists here and now, dirty-semitic and this-worldly, and this too is a step forward.
>>2862766I mean China is cool and all, but at the same time China is kinda megafucked. Imagine if we had this in the USA. Well it's not even possible because we have constitutional rights about equal protection under the law.
https://geography.washington.edu/research/graduate/under-dual-system-children-rural-hukou-migrants-china>Under the dual system : children of Rural-Hukou migrants In China
>This dissertation examines the plight of children of rural-hukou migrants in contemporary China through using a rural-urban dual system perspective. Since the 1950s, after adopting the Stalinist development strategy, Chinese society has been divided into two parts: an urban society and a rural society through the implementation of the hukou system, which officially classifies Chinese citizens into two classes: rural-hukou holders and urban hukou holders. This dissertation contends that the rural-urban dual system has persisted through the present time and Chinese development is still based on the sacrifice of farmers. Unlike the Maoist Era when most farmers had no freedom of seeking urban employment, farmers are now allowed to work in the city. They are however "in the city but not of the city" because of the persisting dual system that still ties them to the countryside. Consequently, studying the plight of children of rural-hukou migrants in China has to start from examining the Stalinist root of Chinese development. This dissertation starts with outlining the root of Chinese development in the 1950s and elaborates the evolution of the dual-system-based development strategies under not only Mao but Deng. This dissertation explores under the rural-urban dual system, how a dual education system was created and maintained in one country and the education predicament of children of rural-hukou migrants in the major cities like Beijing and Shanghai. This dissertation further examines the "left-behind children" and argues they are "institutional orphans" in fact, pointing out that family-breakup is a new form of poverty. This study makes contribution to both the Third World development studies and China studies through shedding light on the political economy of Chinese development and rural-urban relations.I understand why they need to do something like this in their country perhaps, but it's not exactly a model you can point to and tell people you want to replicate in America.
I think just like China, that if America is ever socialist, it would have to be socialism with American characteristics. Personal liberties, equal protection under the law, these are kind of things Americans will always demand. Can't just duplicate the process of feudal shitholes transitioning to socialism.

>Chinaโs hukou system, which in effect treats people with rural household registrations as second-class citizens, has long been seen as deeply socially regressive. But recent anaemic growth is putting increasing scrutiny on the systemโs cost to the worldโs second-largest economy.
>Xi Jinpingโs government, which is trying to pep up consumption and counter a property market slump, in July released a five-year plan calling for the relaxation of hukou rules in mid-sized cities to โfully unleash the huge domestic demand potentialโ from urbanisation, which has slowed since the pandemic.
>But Beijing has tinkered many times before with the system, introduced in 1958 by Mao Zedong to control population movements into the cities from rural areas. Many scholars believe the government should go further and scrap the system altogether.
>โAbolishing the hukou system could provide just the sort of growth momentum that Xi needs to revive confidence in the Chinese economy,โ said Neil Thomas, a fellow at the Asia Society Policy Instituteโs Center for China Analysis.
>Because a hukou governs access to local government services, having one from Chinaโs wealthiest municipalities, particularly Beijing and Shanghai, entitles the holder to the best education and healthcare, easier access to stable government jobs and other privileges.
>Abandoning hukou would encourage more rural workers to move to more productive jobs in cities, said analysts. While massive migration to Chinaโs cities in recent decades has lifted the countryโs headline urbanisation rate to 66 per cent as of last year from 43 per cent in 2005, at least a quarter of city dwellers lack an urban hukou. Many migrant workers crowd into neighbourhoods on the margins of the big cities, such as Yuxinzhuang in northern Beijing. […]
>But fully scrapping hukou would be โeasier said than doneโ, Ivyโsw Ng, Asia-Pacific chief investment officer at DWS, wrote in a note this month.
>Residents of first-tier municipalities would resist losing their privileges, while city governments would balk at the cost of investing in additional infrastructure and services. Many of the 298mn migrant workers who already live in urban areas lack access to the best healthcare, education and public services.
>Furthermore, the Communist party still uses the system to maintain social control. Xi, in particular, has said China needs to prevent a concentration of the population in the largest cities. The system is controlled by the Ministry of Public Security, which has little interest in reform, said scholars.
>The challenge for the government is that โthey have already done whatever is possible [on hukou] without changing the fundamental political systemโ, said Ernan Cui, analyst at research group Gavekal.
>While some smaller cities have abandoned hukou altogether as part of gradual reforms, obtaining one in Chinaโs largest municipalities, particularly Beijing and Shanghai, has become even more difficult, according to Yao Yang, a prominent Chinese professor and author.
>Outsiders seeking a Beijing hukou need to satisfy a points system that takes into consideration their university degree, professional abilities and ability to pay tax โ tougher criteria than what many countries impose on foreign immigrants.
>A Beijing hukou can also be obtained through marriage rules or by birth. Shanghaiโs system is almost equally strict. […]
>As Kim [a student who was rejected from university over her refusal to take the gaukao in her home village] discovered, one of the most important privileges a Beijing hukou grants the holder is the right to complete high school and sit the gaokao, the university entrance exam, in the capital.>>2862779It's absolutely true that concentration of people in the major cities must be prevented or reversed if already in place. Home prices can get absolutely ridiculous if everyone wants to live in one city, for one thing. But it's also critical for national security, both from sabotage and in case of nuclear war. Hopefully China can invest in the countryside and smaller cities enough so that there isn't much reason to move in the first place. Would make sense if it was one of the goals of quality development that China is focusing on now.

>>2862812https://jacobin.com/2026/06/china-hukou-mobility-services-inequalityhttps://archive.is/8n4JMChinaโs Hukou System Is Stubbornly Resistant to Reform<The Chinese authorities have announced a reform of the hukou system that ties citizens to a particular region and fosters inequality. But proclamations of the systemโs death are premature, as powerful social groups have an interest in maintaining it.
>Is China abolishing the hukou? Since the State Council of the Peopleโs Republic of China announced a new guideline on public services on May 18, this question has led to an outpouring of commentary. For decades, analysts from a wide range of political orientations have called for ending the hukou. Has the moment arrived?>Most economists have argued that hukou introduces labor market imperfections and suppresses domestic consumption. Socialists and other progressives, on the other hand, have criticized the tiered citizenship regime and widely differentiated access to social services enshrined by the hukouโs mobility controls, seeing these restrictions as certain to reproduce stark inequalities across generations.>The past few weeks have seen a rising chorus of optimism that this relic of the command economy is finally falling.
>The question of hukouโs demise, however, is as old as Chinaโs capitalist reforms. In 1994, when mass ruralโurban migration was only just beginning, the South China Morning Post ran the headline โRegistration System Set to Be Abolished.โ It wasnโt, but six years later the State Development Planning Commission announced that China โaims to abolish the system over the next five years.โ
>Four years after that, the New York Times credulously reported, โChina plans to abolish legal distinctions between urban residents and peasants in 11 provinces.โ In response to this anthology of dashed hopes, misinterpretations, and some bad-faith propaganda, Kam Wing Chan and Will Buckingham penned a landmark article in the China Quarterly in 2008 in which they answered definitively: no, the hukou may be changing, but it is not going away.>In the nearly two decades since Chan and Buckinghamโs article, the debate has not gone away. Notably, the central government announced a โnew urbanizationโ plan in 2013 which called for hukou to be โbased on a personโs place of residence and jobโ by 2020.>As part of the effort to drum up support for the new plan, state media reported that Xi Jinping himself had argued in his 2001 dissertation that โthe historical trend points to the abolition of the hukou systemโ and that access to social services should be leveled out. Three decades after that SCMP headline proclaimed the demise of hukou, the Global Times, less confident than their late twentieth-century counterparts, wondered, โIs Chinaโs Household Registration Disappearing?โ>The above is merely a prรฉcis of the Groundhog Dayโlike reiteration of this hopeful, perhaps dewy-eyed question over the decades. Why then, despite seeming consensus from the central state and its critics alike, did hukou persist? While it certainly has not been abolished, what has changed? What, if anything, makes this current moment different? And what might an actually liberatory hukou abolition look like? >>2862817They straight up just post like third-worldist radfem lesbians from 2016 tumblr nowadays, which used to be exactly what they were fighting against.

thank god China doesn't put up with this shit and this is why they will lead the global revolution while the Americans argue over whether letting someone into your house in the middle of the night with the intent to have sex still makes you a rape victim.
>>2862819Everything turns into its opposite (Mao)
>>2862823I disagree with "da fed pysoop!!!" stuff, it's organic and propagated by certain recuring personality flaws among the (western) left. It's also far from just being white women being unsufferable with it. As a matter of fact gender wars among the african-american community are some straight from hell shit in comparison.
I also disagree with women being class traitor there have been lots of #lion women in the history of leftism or communism, including the suffragettes. But post-legal victories in the 2010s we put feminism and "female issues", the latter of which are mostly metaphysical jiber jaber or hystrionics, on a pedestal and the consequence is well… Any vaguely progressive guy can get cancelled by any random-insane-ex-gf-he-had-sex-with-but-ghosted-in-2013 fabricating rape delirious acusations from nowhere. And all the guys progressive friend and political supports will now drop him because the median leftist personality type is to be extremely gullible when facing someone that seems/parade as further left than you, leftism became too #emo, moralistic and therefore permeable to bad faith actors.
#Metoo disapeared because most of the accusations ended up being bullshit by cluster B ex-girlfriend but it "won" because everyone internalised it's logic and values now: A woman's voice, no matter how insane, hysterical, bad faithed or delusional is worth more than any facts or evidence.
>>2862679revolutionary conditions keep improving here and you want to leave? right when things are getting spicy? why?
hey guys i signed up for the DSA today
>>2862823>>2862839Not all women are class traitors but their are incentives for them to become class traitors that are often ignored by leftists. The newer possibility to climb up the social ranks both through marriage and capitalism.
Conventional leftist thinking from Engels shows wives in marriages as trapped domestic workers. However, if they marry into a rich family then they don't have to perform domestic labor and can have servants take care of it. A few centuries ago that used to be limited to those women born into the upperclasses already. But under capitalism any woman can marry into the bourgeoisie even if that statistically is rare. When they are young many mistakenly think their chances of marrying up socially are higher than they are.
Because of feminism the same now applies to working under capitalism. They are now fed more propaganda about becoming a capitalist success than men. This media environment gives bad information and throws off their assessment of material conditions. That's also why most women lean liberal but are not leftist.
>>2862839>leftism became too #emo, moralistic and therefore permeable to bad faith actorsYeah that's it. Some kind of middle-class puritanism.
>As a matter of fact gender wars among the african-american community are some straight from hell shit in comparison.Or maybe more direct. Black woman just be like pay my bills. Maybe if Platner dated black women she'd just slap the shit out of him when he fucked up? I kind of respect it but maybe it's a gay thing. There are features in magazines of black women asked how feel like being black in America and they'll say things like "proud" and "joy" and stuff like that. Queens really.
the problem with the left is that it cannot find good candidates, not that it dares to hew for ideological consistency over personal loyalty.
if the allegations are true platner is in the wrong for being a rapist and if the allegations are false he's in the wrong for withdrawing instead of fighting on.
even absent this latest blowup you have to look at the 15 other black marks against his name and go "really, this is the best candidate they can scrounge up?"
the left has an institution problem (can't recruit and train and push good candidates and activists en-masse) and a woman blessing (women, especially younger women, are overwhelmingly left-leaning in the US). only an imbecile could conclude that the solution is to alienate women to protect the products of dud institutions.
>>2862874>>2862718>>2862823Everyone is kinda right in this scenario IMO. I dunno, I feel like was raised as a true feminist. I respect women as equal humans and therefore it means equal judgement and responsibility. Take this site as an example. Why are there like no women here? When I searched up on crystal.cafe and lolcow.farm there were some ladies mentioning leftypol and promoting communism. I think it is just fact of the matter that women in general don't take responsibility for the world and are always just "along for the ride" in any situation. I also agree that feminism in the 5th 6th 7th wave or whatever has just take an insane turn. This is the same time we are having "slut walks" but the anti "fuckboy" sentiment is higher than ever. I think maybe there are true "feminists" or as they claim it means "gender equalists" that believe men and women should be treated completely equally, but the fact of the matter is most of this bullshit is just gender war bullshit and the broad majority of women just want to win, not be equal.
>>2862869>The DSA was founded in 1982 around a domestic democratic socialist agenda. It was not founded to become an anti-Israel movementPretty sure it was also founded on an anti-reactionary agenda. Maybe opposition rule will change things for Israel, but as of right now, they actively participate in colonization and genocide.
The continued intertwining of zionist America and Israel at the government level makes Israel's reactionary problems our problems as well
>>2862878I think it's totally possible to respect women, call yourself a feminist in the egalitarian sense, and still reject the modern consumerist western woman mindset. I mean these women have no problem declaring that men are "broken" or "raised wrong" as a collective so I think it's reasonable to critique how women are raised and socialized to be cheerleaders for Capitalism while men are the primary victims of the most exploitative aspects(the military, migrant labor, slavery, prisons, homelessness, etc).
this is basically why you don't see women in leftist spaces online: they genuinely don't feel any class solidarity with the proletariat or even consider themselves as members of the proletariat regardless of their income. for the consumerist American woman even if she's a liberal she always has the delusional hope of "marrying upwards" as a means of class mobility. It's the whole "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" thing but applied to an entire gender lol.

My father worked blue-collar construction: carpentry, plumbing, odd jobs, skilled trades. Essentially, my entire childhood. Self-taught in every capacity. From carpeting to flooring to drywall to roofing. He knows each angle.
My father comes from poverty. Not the poverty where you don't get a new iPhone for Christmas. Real poverty. Delta Basin poverty. Single-wide trailer poverty. I've been told stories by my father about having to camp in the summer. Can't afford rent, can't afford electricity, school's out. A tent becomes the family home. My father didn't graduate high school. He had to drop out to care for his sick grandmother. And at every turn throughout his life, he sacrificed for those around him.
He's not a perfect man. No man is. But he's a man that understands hard work, gumption, and seeing your people better than they are. I can promise you that Lorenzo was the same kind of man. A good man. A kind-hearted man. A hardworking man. A man that contributed to his community. A man that saw his people better than they are. Because that's why he was picking up his crew.
You're about to go bust ass and do 12 hours of back-breaking construction labor. Trimming floors. Building walls. Laying linoleum. Installing counters. Hard fucking work. It's nice to save that gas money. It's nice to ride to work with your crew. It's nice because the boss buys everyone breakfast. It's nice because the boss is bringing you lunch. It's nice because that's one less meal to pay for, one more meal in your kid's stomach. It's nice because the boss is working right alongside you. An independent contracting construction company. Ten guys doing the best they fucking can for each other.
Is that not the American dream?
Thirty-five years in this country. Working from poverty. Building, brick by brick, two by four by two by four, square foot of carpet by square foot of carpet, building a life for his people. Day in and day out, toiling, coming home from work in the dead of night, children already asleep, walking into their bedroomsโthe same children that he would put through collegeโtelling them goodnight stories they can't hear, and going to work the next morning to do it again.
That was the life Lorenzo led.
A shot killed him, ICE murdered him in the street in cold blood, unjustifiably so. They will say that he tried to flee, that he hit the gas pedal, and the officer, standing in front of the vehicle, had no choice but to murder him.
If you are faced with an outcome that will break your family and leave you in a concentration camp, you have every right to flee. You have every right to resist. There is no justification needed. No potential argument for why this murder is acceptable.
ICE, as an organization, has no mandate. ICE, as an organization, is younger than me. And Lorenzo was in this country longer than I've been alive.
The Fox News, the Rupert Murdoch propaganda machine, the CNN, the NBC, the Trump News Networkโthey'll run every story they can to justify this murder. Just like they ran every story they could to normalize the occupation of our communities by this paramilitary group. They pitched it as going after the criminal. And then they made everyone who is Hispanic a criminal.
If you think Lorenzo was a criminal simply for the color of his skin, then you have no place in the new American vision. No place in the world we're fighting for. No place on this land.
The killing of Lorenzo is the killing of any of our fathers, any of our brothers, any of our uncles, any of our people. Think about how many lives a man like this touches. From the crew members and their families, to all the clients he had good relationships with, to the church he may have attended and donated to. Dozens upon dozens of lives changed forevermore so that Stephen Miller and his Nazi sycophants can have their day of the rope.
When Stephen Miller says that he wants to deport 100 million people, he means it. He wants to see every person of color dead or in a camp. That is the directive of our government now. It is not our government, though. It is the government that occupies us. It is the regime that intimidates, that exploits, that tortures, that rapes, that plunders, that destroys families. It is the anti-life regime.
From the National Guard troops that prowl the streets of Memphis looking for their next Black victim, to the ICE soldiers that hunt down Hispanic people in our streets. We are not represented by this government. We are not supported by this government. Our lives are not made better by this government. We are extracted from by this government. Families destroyed, children in concentration camps.
The two parties that have powerโthe left hand of capital, the Democrats, and the right hand of capital, the Republicansโare strangling the working class, while moving lockstep with their vision of a white supremacist America. But their vision is more like a dream for the past.
The tactics that ICE are employing are familiar. The National Guard prowling the streets of Memphis and other Black-majority cities is familiar. It is an extension of the settler-colonial system. First it was the Natives, now it's the Hispanics. The same colonial forces that killed Sitting Bull killed Lorenzo. There must be an enemy, there must be an outgroup, there must be a people to genocide, lest this entire plantation system fall apart.
Before, they would use the language games and the propaganda and the hopes and the change and the Obamas to sell us an illusion of what we are, to sell us the possibility of progress in a system that demands death, first abroad, now at home. But now, the regime has no mandate. The will of the people, the will of the masses, the working classes, demands the regime be rebuked, demands proper representation, demands tribunals for those who have wronged us.
If ICE occupies our cities, if the National Guard prowls our streets, killing good men like Lorenzo, killing our fathers, killing our brothers, killing our uncles, then who is the opposition? Who are the true representatives of the people? We must find them. We must build beyond those who have trapped us in their wage slavery, their exploitation. They kill with impunity because no one has challenged them. Soon, we will challenge them. Only when we challenge them will the killings stop.
We have had 250 years of this system of death. We will not stand for 250 more.
Rest in peace, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, and to all of the other fathers, brothers, uncles, siblings, and sons that have been killed, taken, and tortured by our regime, by ICE, by the National Guard, by the U.S. military. Your martyrdom will not be in vain.

>>2862887Yes, but you can produce surplus value as a white collar worker.
>On the other hand, however, our notion of productive labour becomes narrowed. Capitalist production is not merely the production of commodities, it is essentially the production of surplus-value. The labourer produces, not for himself, but for capital. It no longer suffices, therefore, that he should simply produce. He must produce surplus-value. That labourer alone is productive, who produces surplus-value for the capitalist, and thus works for the self-expansion of capital. If we may take an example from outside the sphere of production of material objects, a schoolmaster is a productive labourer when, in addition to belabouring the heads of his scholars, he works like a horse to enrich the school proprietor. That the latter has laid out his capital in a teaching factory, instead of in a sausage factory, does not alter the relation.t. Marx

>>2862694Lmao this is gold
>>2862895>>2862893You're both morons. Marx was demonstrating the absurdity of bourgeois political economy, in its thinking that any banker or blackwater mercenary who affords a shareholder a profit is productive.
<Productive and unproductive labour is here throughout conceived from the standpoint of the possessor of money, from the standpoint of the capitalist, not from that of the workman; hence the nonsense written by Ganilh, etc., who have so little understanding of the matter that they raise the question whether the labour or service or function of the prostitute, flunkey, etc., brings in returns. |303||>Smith does not deny that the servantโs labour is productive for him. Every service is productive for its seller. To swear false oaths is productive for the person who does it for cash. Forging documents is productive for anyone paid to do it. A murder is productive for a man who gets paid for doing it. The trade of sycophant, informer, toady, parasite, lickspittle, is productive for people who do not perform these โservicesโ gratis. Hence they are โproductive labourersโ, producers not only of wealth but of capital. The thief, too, who pays himselfโjust as the law-courts and the State do โโemploys his energy, uses it in a particular way, produces a result which satisfies a human needโ, i.e., the need of the thief and perhaps also that of his wife and children. Consequently [he is a] productive labourer if it is merely a question of producing a โresultโ which satisfies a โneedโ, or as in the cases mentioned above, if selling his โservicesโ is enough to make them โproductiveโ.You morons are upholding bourgeois economy because youre imperialist parasites who seek to justify themselves.
>All those who polemise against Adam Smith on the one hand assume a superior attitude to material production, and on the other hand they attempt to justify immaterial productionโor even no production, like that of lackeysโas material production. It makes absolutely no difference whether the owner of the net revenue consumes this revenue in lackeys, mistresses or pasties. But it is ludicrous to imagine that the surplus must be consumed by servants and cannot be consumed by productive labourers themselves without the value of the product going to the devil. With Malthus too we find the same view of the necessity of unproductive consumersโwhich necessity in fact exists when the surplus comes into the hands of idlers. and mao said teachers are bourgeois and retail workers are semi-proletarian, so youre both just flatly wrong.
>The petty bourgeoisie. Included in this category are the owner-peasants, [7] the master handicraftsmen, the lower levels of the intellectuals–students, primary and secondary school teachers, lower government functionaries, office clerks, small lawyers–and the small traders. Both because of its size and class character, this class deserves very close attention. The owner-peasants and the master handicraftsmen are both engaged in small-scale production. Although all strata of this class have the same petty-bourgeois economic status, they fall into three different sections. The first section consists of those who have some surplus money or grain, that is, those who, by manual or mental labour, earn more each year than they consume for their own support. Such people very much want to get rich and are devout worshipers of Marshal Chao; [8] while they have no illusions about amassing great fortunes, they invariably desire to climb up into the middle bourgeoisie. Their mouths water copiously when they see the respect in which those small moneybags are held. People of this sort are timid, afraid of government officials, and also a little afraid of the revolution. Since they are quite close to the middle bourgeoisie in economic status, they have a lot of faith in its propaganda and are suspicious of the revolution. This section is a minority among the petty bourgeoisie and constitutes its right-wing. The second section consists of those who in the main are economically self-supporting. They are quite different from the people in the first section; they also want to get rich, but Marshal Chao never lets them. In recent years, moreover, suffering from the oppression and exploitation of the imperialists, the warlords, the feudal landlords and the big comprador-bourgeoisie, they have become aware that the world is no longer what it was. They feel they cannot earn enough to live on by just putting in as much work as before. To make both ends meet they have to work longer hours, get up earlier, leave off later, and be doubly careful at their work. They become rather abusive, denouncing the foreigners as "foreign devils", the warlords as "robber generals" and the local tyrants and evil gentry as "the heartless rich". As for the movement against the imperialists and the warlords, they merely doubt whether it can succeed (on the ground that the foreigners and the warlords seem so powerful), hesitate to join it and prefer to be neutral, but they never oppose the revolution. This section is very numerous, making up about one-half of the petty bourgeoisie.
>The semi-proletariat. What is here called the semi-proletariat consists of five categories: (1) the overwhelming majority of the semi-owner peasants, [10] (2) the poor peasants, (3) the small handicraftsmen, (4) the shop assistants [11] and (5) the pedlars. The overwhelming majority of the semi-owner peasants together with the poor peasants constitute a very large part of the rural masses. The peasant problem is essentially their problem. The semi-owner peasants, the poor peasants and the small handicraftsmen are engaged in production on a still smaller scale than the owner-peasants and the master handicraftsmen. Although both the overwhelming majority of the semi-owner peasants and the poor peasants belong to the semi-proletariat, they may be further divided into three smaller categories, upper, middle and lower, according to their economic condition. The semi-owner peasants are worse off than the owner-peasants because every year they are short of about half the food they need, and have to make up this deficit by renting land from others, selling part of their labour power, or engaging in petty trading. In late spring and early summer when the crop is still in the blade and the old stock is consumed, they borrow at exorbitant rates of interest and buy grain at high prices; their plight is naturally harder than that of the owner-peasants who need no help from others, but they are better off than the poor peasants. For the poor peasants own no land, and receive only half the harvest or even less for their year's toil, while the semi-owner peasants, though receiving only half or less than half the harvest of land rented from others, can keep the entire crop from the land they own. The semi-owner peasants are therefore more revolutionary than the owner-peasants, but less revolutionary than the poor peasants. The poor peasants are tenant-peasants who are exploited by the landlords. They may again be divided into two categories according to their economic status. One category has comparatively adequate farm implements and some funds. Such peasants may retain half the product of their year's toil. To make up their deficit they cultivate side crops, catch fish or shrimps, raise poultry or pigs, or sell part of their labour power, and thus eke out a living, hoping in the midst of hardship and destitution to tide over the year. Thus their life is harder than that of the semi-owner peasants, but they are better off than the other category of poor peasants. They are more revolutionary than the semi-owner peasants, but less revolutionary than the other category of poor peasants. As for the latter, they have neither adequate farm implements nor funds nor enough manure, their crops are poor, and, with little left after paying rent, they have even greater need to sell part of their labour power. In hard times they piteously beg help from relatives and friends, borrowing a few tou or sheng of grain to last them a few days, and their debts pile up like loads on the backs of oxen. They are the worst off among the peasants and are highly receptive to revolutionary propaganda. The small handicraftsmen are called semi-proletarians because, though they own some simple means of production and moreover are self-employed, they too are often forced to sell part of their labour power and are somewhat similar to the poor peasants in economic status. They feel the constant pinch of poverty and dread of unemployment, because of heavy family burdens and the gap between their earnings and the cost of living; in this respect too they largely resemble the poor peasants. The shop assistants are employees of shops and stores, supporting their families on meagre pay and getting an increase perhaps only once in several years while prices rise every year. If by chance you get into intimate conversation with them, they invariably pour out their endless grievances. Roughly the same in status as the poor peasants and the small handicraftsmen, they are highly receptive to revolutionary propaganda. The pedlars, whether they carry their wares around on a pole or set up stalls along the street, have tiny funds and very small earnings, and do not make enough to feed and clothe themselves. Their status is roughly the same as that of the poor peasants, and like the poor peasants they need a revolution to change the existing state of affairs. So if a majority of workers are service workers and thus non proletarian how is a proletarian revolution supposed to happen?

No he isn't, you're conflating people who sell services as freelancers (the people referred to in that first passage) with people who sell their labour power to a capitalist. Its the difference between a private gardener hired directly by a property owner versus an employee of a landscaping company. That is the central relation that makes somebody a productive labourer, and crucially what lays the basis of their antagonism to capitalists and the capitalist system. What the capitalist does with that labour power after they purchase it is irrelevant, so long as they are extracting surplus value. If we follow your logic we are led to all kinds of absurd conclusions, mainly that somebody can have the exact same relationship to the capitalist and the capitalist system but for some reason not be considered a worker because their labour power is used for something other than producing physical commodities. How do the class interests of a retail worker differ from those of a factory worker?
>and mao said teachers are bourgeois and retail workers are semi-proletarianIdk how shit worked in feudal China, but it's pretty obvious that you can't be bourgeois if you don't own capital, and teachers in modern Western countries generally don't. >>2862946That's still not the point. Whether or not a person is productive or not has nothing to do with the use values that result from their labour. In fact this is specifically the notion that Marx argues against. Unfortunately people have no reading comprehension and can't actually follow what he's saying, or else they are projecting the modern ways in which some professions function onto the 19th century when they worked differently (e.g. taking a quote referring to a freelance private tutor and applying it to modern public school teachers). He says specifically and in no unclear language that productive labour is defined by the production of surplus value via selling labour power to a capitalist. This is the only definition that makes any sense, since otherwise you would need to explain how a retail worker is any less of a class enemy of their employer when compared to a factory worker. Whether the doctor in your example creates a use value with their labour is irrelevant then, the question is whether they produce surplus value through the sale of labour power.

As already pointed out, no social product is created in these branches, nor, consequently, any national income; but the capitalists who exploit the workers employed in these branches receive part of the national income created in the branches of material production. >You restating smithMarx agrees with Smith on this question, and says so openly.
<Only labour which produces capital is productive labour. Commodities or money become capital, however, through being exchanged directly for labour-power, and exchanged only in order to be replaced by more labour than they themselves contain. For the use-value of labour-power to the capitalist as a capitalist does not consist in its actual use-value, in the usefulness of this particular concrete labourโthat it is spinning labour, weaving labour, and so on. He is as little concerned with this as with the use-value of the product of this labour as such, since for the capitalist the product is a commodity (even before its first metamorphosis), not an article of consumption. What interests him in the commodity is that it has more exchange-value than he paid for it; and therefore the use-value of the labour is, for him, that he gets back a greater quantity of labour-time than he has paid out in the form of wages. Included among these productive workers, of course, are all those who contribute in one way or another to the production of the commodity, from the actual operative to the manager or engineer (as distinct from the capitalist), And so even the latest English official report on the factories โexplicitlyโ includes in the category of employed wage-labourers all persons employed in the factories and in the offices attached to them, with the exception of the manufacturers themselves (see the wording of the report before the concluding part of this rubbish).<Productive labour is here defined from the standpoint of capitalist production, and Adam Smith here got to the very heart of the matter, hit the nail on the head. marx said this, noooo marx said that, marx said shut the fuck up, engels said "Our doctrine is not a dogma, but a guide to action", i said shut the fuck up. fit theories to reality instead of shoehorning reality into theory.

>>2862968>>2862983Ahistorical bullshit as well. The American civil already demonstrated the superiority of advanced industrial society, mechanization, and a more freed up and educated workforce over slave focused economies.
>>2862979>men over-representedSexist exclusion
>women over-representedGender superiority
Feminoids are beyond parody lol
>>2862987It's the term they use to refer to the economics of a society already undergoing socialist construction, not as an analysis of class relations in bourgeois society.
>>2862979Performative liberal nonsense.
>most US men are broken and raised wrong. you can read this off ex-post from their attitudes. to be right wing without being rich is to be mentally ill.Bullshit
>the average man under 55 is a trump voter. https://www.axios.com/2019/06/09/axios-hbo-poll-55-percent-women-prefer-socialism Bullshit
>(dated, admittedly, but a quick example. most polls obviously focus on dem/rep alignment rather than capitalist/socialist. VERY annoyingly, the cato institute has a more recent poll that shows even higher support for socialism but doesn't offer an easy breakdown by gender.)Not bullshit

>>2862992you can't analyse the status game if you're trying to play it at the same time. stop being a loser.
if women complain about being underrepresented it's because the thing is desirable or because they're mocking the thing for not being able to attract women. if men are under-represented it's usually because a substantial number of men are faggots who don't like being around women because they think having a female occupation/hobby/etc will lower their status with other men. (DON'T google the ratio of men to women on veterinary courses over time or the phenomenon of male flight.)
here's my angle: leftists and liberals believe nice things and have high cultural status, rightists believe bad things and have low cultural status. the war of the sexes is irrelevant except insofar as it's worth wondering why women pick the right answer more often than men.
>>2863004prove to the class you know what performative means by explaining what, exactly, i am "performing."
i stand by my statement that rightism is mental illness and i stand by my claim that the average man under 55 voted for trump.
(as it happens, i don't care much about sex as a discriminator here. i go for education as my explanatory tool and you could fudge up a just-so story about the male-female gap being mostly about more women going to college compared to men. if "going to college" turns rightists into lib/leftists, "not going to college" is being raised wrong. simple as.)
>>2862821>The ones I have seen in that thread are quoting Carl Schmitt>no screenshots or contextdamn that's crazy
>>2863010>prove to the classWhat class?
>i stand by my statement that rightism is mental illness Not wrong, but not the complete truth. Rightism is also confusion and ignorance.
>i stand by my claim that the average man under 55 voted for trumpSauceless statement
>if "going to college" turns rightists into lib/leftists, "not going to college" is being raised wrong. simple asNot an absolute
>>2863015the metaphorical class which positions me as a teacher, everyone else as students, and you in particular as a bad student being told to explain their behaviour to the class, all for comic effect. (now here's the lesson: unlike anything in my earlier post, that particular phrase
was performative.)

>ditch the people who found Platner objectionable
I didn't even see that but then again, i don't go to shit sites like twitter all the time
>make their beds with the DNC "progressives"
The people who found him objectionable were the main part of the DNC, DNC "progressives" and DNCfags who where copying the DEM's AIPAC text in /USA/, he still won the first part of vote after when everyone was shit talking for the wrong/dumbest reason and only a few times with maybe past crimes were talked, so the first part with "cancelled" is less of thing now to the point where plantman could've keep going still.
>Platner was meant as a trojan horse from day one
nearly all progressive dems like AOC are
Reminder,
the whole TWister Vs. Treatler spam is nothing but barely concealed poltard wrecking to make leftists look shitty.
