Open Insulin are an amazing co-op, and unlike most they aspire to be more than a coffee shop. They are trying to create a pharmaceutical co op that will distribute insulin to people with diabetes. They are in the process of fully developing their production techniques.

This is very cool. We should do the same for HIV meds.

Recent insulin glargine results from Counter Culture Labs
>Over the past year the Open Insulin chapter at Counter Culture Labs has focused on refining our techniques for using transgenic Pichia pastoris in order to synthesize glargine, a type of long acting insulin. In 2024 and 2025 there have been two flask culture runs and one bioreactor run that have been confirmed to have successful glargine production with protein gels and western blots.
>The bioreactor run from 6/24/2024/ to 6/30/2024 has the most promising result because the other successful results were cultures grown in flasks which are less useful for producing large amounts of Insulin than cultures in a bioreactor. The synthesis pathway for glargine that was integrated into Pichia pastoris is methanol activated, meaning it will only produce glargine when methanol is added to the feedstock.
>The Open Insulin team at Counter Culture Labs has confirmed glargine expression from this bioreactor run as well as two flask runs. The first of these flask runs was grown from 11/25/2024 – 12/04/2024 and the second one was grown from 02/05/2025 – 02/24/2025. The former run was confirmed only via a protein gel; the latter run was confirmed via both a protein gel and a western blot.
>While these three cultures showed that the Pichia pastoris strain developed by Open Insulin is capable of expressing significant quantities of insulin glargine, expression is not consistent . The next step in our work is to continue experiments to obtain reliable and consistent expression.

This is dual power.

I'm compiling a big list of vape shops to contact and see if they're hiring. It aggravates me how there's literally a vape shop every block or so yet i never see ads for them on indeed or Craigslist

Also if I'm willing to compile this list im willing to sass them if they say apply online
>you could've just said you're not hiring… Do you even use crypto boomer?

for me the worst part is needing to both send in my resume (which ill customize for the job in question) and then answer everything all over again on their job portal + a bunch of extra shit they throw in. why even have me send in a fucking resume

>Thanks, we should get back to you in a week!
>(ghosts you)

>>1229
well obviously, they litterally need 1 or maybe 2 guy at most, and most of them are just them working in their own store.
they aleady personally know people they can hire too the minute their friend quit.

Are u anons ready for slavery again, without even being fed by porky this time

>porkies trying to prevent workers from quitting

>using already existing indentured slavery model, where you have to pay off company loans
>trying to make it apply to on-the-job training now as well
>prevented nurses and other essential workers from leaving to other hospitals for hell
>pushing to make it wider
>Rightard states rejecting any legal challenges
>calling them TRAPs to rub it in

https://jacobin.com/2025/08/corporate-america-noncompete-workers-traps

America never left slavery.
If we are entering slavery again, that would mean loan debt and compulsory law never existed between 1865 and 2025

I applied for it because I desperately need a job and they gave me an 'audition' (wtf?) and it is like I am meant to be a performer or something. My friends say its a strip club but online apparently its not. I don't want to be a stripper BUT I NEED A JOB. Is it worth trying or is it sex work? Damn on the googile images it really looks like a strip club.

I think you're the jokester, considering I cleared more on a Thursday night at bars than in a whole week at taco bell, and that's the third biggest money night.

what the fuck does sex mean to americans

You're asking the wrong people about sex

It depends on what kind of bars though

How do you go about looking for jobs anon?
So far have only skimmed through Indeed and applied to jobs that caught my attention.
Got nothing back from these, but that was before my resume was specialized.

I want to become either a lawyer, a social worker, or a psychiatrist SPECIFICALLY to divorce Parental Authority from Legal Power over children. I don't like that two humans have legal "ownership" of a third human, merely because they choose to have sex. I believe that the State should, or, MUST, provide children, teenagers, etc, with work permits, housing opportunities, etc so they can leave the Parental house as soon as they wish.
I also oppose the family: I don't mean a half-assed petite bourgeoisie position of "i oppose the trad. west family, but i support SSUs\ polyamory\ single parent " NO!! I oppose ANY AND ALL family-unit, and exalt the individual among all. I, also, wish to work towards these changes.
Which career path is best for me??

The boomers were lumpem because of how adults dismissed bullying as "kids being kids".
Also, they were treated more like adults.

Also, I hate when people use the word modern to refer to any chronological comparisons within a three decade range.
Modern means any time era that uses printing press, guns, Hindu-Arabic numeral system, and was involved in colonialism
And lastly, lumpenproletariat doesn't mean just criminals. It also means people whom are not allowed to industrially participate.

While juvenile delinquency has decreased, it also resulted in arrested development. We see more people having personal disorders. Not even talking about congenital either but more social ones.

It's making a more incompetent society.
We see it with how damn near difficult it is to secure a gf let alone get a decent paying job.

Millennials are advocating to raise the age of majority to compensate for maturational deficiency

You're not going to destroy it in any sort of individualist coup, in one fell swoop. However, I actually agree with the Bakunin/Nechayev goal of installing yourself into the positions of power that would theoretically allow you to assist in destroying the hierarchal family structure.

Lawyer is an obvious one, but psychiatry presents an interesting chance to actually destroy the psychological hold the family has on the individual after they grow up. I see this, *everywhere* to the point where people are letting their parents commit fraud in their name purely because of the ideological power they created for themselves. I think studying that with a lot of focus on Freudian psychoanalysis would be very productive.

One of the most disturbing trends in therapy I've seen is this forced acceptance of age regression therapy, where the adult is hypnotized into an adolescent state so they can properly be implanted with the memories of a parental figure that may have been missing. This is one of the most conservative, reproductions of ideology I've seen since "pray it away" therapy. This isn't just some abdl fetish roleplay, it's deeper than that and is absolutely used in real life, prevalent even. This needs to be combatted.

This is part of the infantilisation epidemic in the west.
They already socially castrated young adults with the "brain development" theory.

Minus the fornication, what's so bad about condoms and porn?
Also. Most parents think kids having a sex drive is some sickness

or, TLDR, you're retarded. Social bonds exist whether you like them or not, and the role of parents in an anarchist society is not to beat their kids into submission, but to essentially provide guidance so that their children can grow up to be free, healthy, individuals by allowing them to live freely, but providing love and stewardship where needed. Humans survive through social bonds, it's just that they don't have to be coercive and forced. Frankly, you don't sound like an actual anarchist, just someone LARPing as one because you have daddy issues. To reject families completely is to reject being human at all, so again, you're a retard.

Anybody know of any good job sites for part-time work, ideally uk based? I’ve been using indeed for a while but it’s shit, i’m just looking for bar work or something before i head off to university in the autumn but every job site i’ve checked (cv library, reed, etc) are just filled with garbage jobs that i’m either not qualified for, are too far, or are just email scam type jobs

>>1009
for service job the old fashioned way is still the way, at least that's my experience. Print a lot of cvs with a good and simple presentation, lie about experience ALWAYS, prepare a route in your town to cover as many restaurants/bars as possible, and walk and talk. Say hello to the people, look for the person in charge, and then just humbly say thay you are looking for work

Helped me filter out a bunch of jobs wouldn't qualify for.
Might still not get what I'm looking for though.

Are master's programs really just cash cows like everyone keeps telling me?

Tldr all the arguments I hear against doing one:
>costs too much
>easier admissions process
>bad quality of education
>more debt
>can get a job without one anyways
>mainly used by internationals to game visas
>most jobs dont require it

But, I cant help but feel a lot of this is cope from people that dont have one. It has to help get more interviews easier and the wages are probably higher.

I got an admit into UCLA and feel like I should take it. My undergrad was in a shittier state school and the rep would help me out. But its going to be 40grand and dont know if Im just about to get scammed

I have yet to find a professional Master's degree that is actually useful. MBA? Trash. MPH? Double trash.
The only reason to get a master's is if you want to work towards a PhD and live in academia. The only graduate degrees worth a damn otherwise are medicine, law, dentistry and perhaps engineering.

>>351
OP I am going to be frank with you: Discussions about college degrees on the internet are 99.99% vibes-based and people who have no understanding of the subject think they're qualified to talk out of their ass about it. In particular people who fellate "the trades". It's become a cultural signifier, there's basically no facts involved and even the anecdotes are unreliable at best.
I would speak with an actual counselor and figure out what exactly your future career prospects would look like, and then with that baseline you can do further research from there. Obviously the counselor is part of the university so they wouldn't give an absolutely objective viewpoint, but they would still give you a general idea of what exactly it is you're looking at career-wise.
Is it actually true that you could get a job with the degree you already have? Have you tried to figure that out? You would know better than us. It's your money/debt, your desires, your time.

Bruh, I hear more people fellating college degrees and treating trades as fascist breeding grounds

redundant

I want do individual entrepreneurship playing music for money, what is the most effective instrument to get the most money in street busking *(without singing)?
I'm thinking accordion, bagpipes, guitar or violin.

They get actual chump change where I live, its so fucking miserable, the working conditions are awful and the pay is so shit its compareable to a street sweeper. I did 2 months at mcdonalds, NEVER AGAIN.

>>1051
This is why general schooling should be mainly vocational, especially in poor areas.
Once you graduate, you get free waivers to good colleges.

>>971
OP what is the point of this thread? Do you even play an instrument already lol? The best way to get a living as a musician and something even people who went to Berkely or Juliard do is to play weddings and etc. But like I just pointed out, these are top tier musicians working for basically chump change in the first place. You're not going to make a living busking especially if you're not already like some master musician.

The Irish Uilleann Pipes - an instrument so impressive that learning it will keep you fed, clothed, and welcomed wherever you go. In the summer i'd make more money busking than I would in a day job.

You'd have to live in a tourist spot for that to happen.
